Chapter 9 I'll Kneel And Call You Daddy

Brian gulped secretly. The so-called living allowance Charles had provided... And now, the Megatitan Group... Brian couldn't help but wonder how wealthy his family actually was.

Brian didn't dare to try to answer that question.

"Mr. Tennant?" Tom asked again, which pulled Brian back to reality.

Brian thought it would be way too ostentatious if Tom went to school just to see him. So he said, "No, no, you don't have to come here. I'll go to the Megatitan Group later."

Brian hadn't put Tom on speakerphone, so the others didn't know who was on the other end of the line. But they did hear Brian mention the Megatitan Group.

"Megatitan Group? Isn't that the biggest financial company in the city? Do you think you can just go there?"

"Kim has been busy on his phone. He must be working on some business. Brian probably got jealous, so he pretended to be a big boss as well."

"What're you talking about? He is a boss! The boss of collecting water bottles! Hahaha!"

Everyone began to laugh and point at Brian.

But Brian was not affected. He continued to eat the delicious food in front of him, ignoring their insults.

Soon, the meal came to a close. Everyone felt inexplicably satisfied-that was, everyone but Kim.

They all turned to look at Brian expectantly.

This was the moment they had been waiting for.

Jeanne couldn't wait to see how this scene would unfold. She shouted at the waiter, "Bring us the bill!"

The waiter nodded and obediently brought the bill over to Kim and Brian.

"Hello, I hope you enjoyed your meal. The bill is two hundred and fifty thousand in total." As soon as he placed the bill in front of the two men, he continued, "Each of you needs to pay a hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars. Would you like to pay with cash or by card?"

Kim's face turned as pale as a ghost when he heard the price.

He had already borrowed money from a dozen people just now.

The money he borrowed combined with his monthly allowance, Kim only had a total of eighty thousand dollars. He still lacked more than forty thousand!

Gritting his teeth angrily, Kim made up his mind. He refused to pay for the alcohol!

However, nobody noticed the grim expression on Kim's face. They were all busy staring at Brian, waiting for him to make a fool of himself.

Kim stood up, planning to announce that Brian had to pay for the alcohol himself.

But Jeanne spoke up first. "Kim, let's pay the bill! Let's show this worthless bumpkin what real rich men are like!"

Kim's face turned livid. He couldn't help but curse Jeanne in his heart for being such a fucking idiot! Did she think he was made of money?

But before he could protest, the others chimed in enthusiastically, "Yeah! Brian, this is what actual rich people do!"

Kim was growing desperate. These people were digging his grave.

But he couldn't say that he didn't have enough money! No, that was way too embarrassing!

After racking his brains for a solution, Kim decided to let Brian pay first. When they all saw that Brian couldn't pay up, he could take this as an opportunity to make a huge fuss about it.

Only in this way could he escape from imminent disaster.

He smiled at Brian viciously and said, "Mr. Tennant, you pay first."

Brian smiled and waved his hand dismissively. "I don't have a bank card with me-"

Everyone burst into laughter before he could even finish talking.

"See? You don't have any money, yet you pretended to be rich. Are you out of your goddamned mind?"

"You know what happens to those who can't pay? They stay and wash the dishes. That doesn't sound so bad to someone like you, right?"

"Hahahaha! Are you saying this idiot can pay a debt by washing dishes? Even if he wanted to do that, the hotel wouldn't accept him!"

Brian didn't care about the harsh ridicule. He stood up and started to unzip his backpack, saying lightly, "Although I didn't bring my bank card, I have a little cash on me."

Technically, Brian wasn't lying. Compared with the money in his private vault, five hundred thousand dollars was nothing.

When everyone heard this, the mocking laughter became even louder.

One of the guys said jokingly, "If you have enough cash to pay for your half of the bill, I'll kneel and call you Daddy on the spot!"
