Chapter 5 Luxury Hotel

Anne pinched her arm hard. Only the pain made her certain that she wasn't dreaming.

Brian was so poor that he collected water bottles to sell them for money. How the hell could he have five hundred thousand dollars?

Anne simply couldn't wrap her head around it. At a loss, she called Rosy and told her what had happened.

"What?! No way! Anne, are you crazy? If anyone knows about Brian's financial situation, it's me. He's just a pauper who has nothing!" Rosy shouted.

Brian couldn't be rich. Otherwise, he wouldn't have needed to sell scrap things to raise money for her sick mother.

Anne said firmly, "I saw it with my own eyes. He withdrew five hundred thousand dollars from our bank today. And our manager received him in person!"

Rosy pursed her lips in confusion. Could Brian actually be rich? Damn it! He had been keeping his money away from her this whole time!

The indignant Rosy made up her mind to get to the bottom of this.

Five hundred thousand dollars was no trivial amount. She suddenly regretted breaking up with Brian so soon.

Meanwhile, Brian had no idea that his ex-girlfriend was looking for him. With the bag of money, he made his way back to school.

He was passing by a hotel when he happened to see Kim, Jeanne, and the others standing by the door.

His face froze. He didn't want to talk to them, so he turned around to take a different path.

However, it was too late. Kim had seen him. He blocked Brian's way and said with an evil smile, "Hey, loser! Let's have dinner together!"

Jeanne wrinkled her nose at Brian in disgust and said, "Brian, you should be thankful that Kim was so kind to invite you. Otherwise, you'd probably never have the chance to enter a five-star hotel!"

Kim winked at Jeanne meaningfully. She immediately understood what he was after.

She hurried to corner Brian with Kim, leaving him no way to escape.

Looking at Brian's backpack, Kim sneered, "Hey, that's a good-looking bag.

What's in it? Water bottles? Ha-ha!"

Surrounded by the two, Brian lowered his head. "There's money in it..."

Kim laughed as though he had heard the funniest joke in his life. "Yes, yes, we get it. Those water bottles count as money to you."

Just then, Jeanne got close enough to Brian to see the text on his backpack. She read it out loud. "To commemorate a deposit of more than one hundred million dollars."

Jeanne burst into laughter. "Wow, seriously? Do you think you'll be a billionaire just by scavenging through garbage? You're ambitious; maybe you'll actually make it!"

"Hahaha!" Kim chimed in and mocked Brian mercilessly.

"We're all classmates. Why are you so mean to him?" A voice sounded from behind the two.

Maggie Findlay walked toward the bullies sullenly, her flowy dress fluttering in the wind.

Maggie was the most beautiful girl in their class. She had been nice to Brian ever since, and she never looked down on him.

"Brian, just ignore them. Let's have dinner. Since our classmates are also here, we can all eat together. My treat!"

As she spoke, Maggie took Brian's arm and started walking.

Brian didn't want to have dinner with Kim and the others. But since Maggie had invited him, he found himself unable to refuse this kind-hearted girl.

Besides, he was hungry, so he obediently followed Maggie into the hotel.

Brian looked at Maggie gratefully and said, "Thank you..."

Maggie smiled at him warmly. "Don't mention it."

Kim's expression darkened when he witnessed this. But he couldn't dare to lose his temper in front of Maggie.

He had no choice but to swallow his anger for now. How dare this loser touch the woman he liked? He would definitely teach Brian a lesson later!

Soon, they entered a private room. Everyone took their seats.

Brian drank in the luxurious decoration excitedly.

Indeed, it was his first time to have dinner in such a high-end hotel. Naturally, he was a little giddy.

He then took the nearest available seat.

The girls sitting next to him immediately frowned unhappily.

"Who let in a poor loser like you?"

"What makes you think you deserve to come to a place like this?"

"Fuck off! Stay away from me, you disgusting slob. You make me sick."
