Chapter 3 Private Vault

Brian suddenly sat bolt upright in bed.

The memory of the past resurfaced in his mind.

When he was only seven years old, he left his family to live on his own.

For more than a decade, Brian was forbidden to use any family resources. Even the skills he had learned when he was with his family were banned.

Now, it seemed his family was finally about to lift the ban.

Charles Bailey's voice sounded again, interrupting Brian's thoughts.

"Mr. Tennant, a small company has been transferred to your name. What would've been your living allowances over the past decade has been deposited into Citibank. You just need to go to the bank to withdraw it. The number of your private vault is 001."

"Okay."

Brian then hung up the phone in a daze.

He smiled bitterly and muttered, "It's just living allowances. Why'd they bother to use a private vault? How much money could it be? What a hassle!"

Still, extra money was extra money. Brian quickly washed his face and set off.

He went to Citibank and approached the nearest counter. "Hello, I want to access my private vault."

The clerk looked up at Brian and raised one eyebrow in disbelief.

Then she sneered, "It's obvious that you don't have any money. How dare you pretend to own a private vault here? What's next? You're going to tell me you're the owner of this bank?"

To Brian's surprise, the clerk was none other than Rosy's elder sister, Anne Stevens.

Anne had always looked down on Brian, thinking that he was nowhere near good enough for her sister. She kept trying to convince Rosy to break up with him.

So in a way, Anne was one of the reasons why Rosy cheated on him.

At this point, Brian certainly felt no need to be cordial with her.

He said impatiently, "I said, I'd like access to my private vault."

Anne stood up from her desk and pointed a finger at him angrily. "You pauper! How dare you come here?"

Then she shouted, "Security!"

"What's going on?"

Just then, a pleasant voice came from behind Brian.

He turned around and saw a beautiful woman in black silk stockings and high heels walking toward him.

Brian's gaze was drawn to the woman's ample bosom. Her plump breasts looked like they could break free from her blazer at any given moment.

Seeing her manager, Anne quickly put on a flattering smile. "Miss Dockery, I know this man. He has no money, but he claims to have a private vault here. I figured he was just trying to stir up trouble, so I called security."

Hearing this, Lisa Dockery looked Brian up and down.

As a branch manager of Citibank, she was proud of her ability to discern people at a glance. Although she still wore a gentle smile, deep inside her heart, she despised Brian.

How could Citibank's private vaults have anything to do with this poor guy?

"Come with me."

Lisa waved at Brian and led him to the bank's vaults, albeit reluctantly.

If the bank had not stipulated in their policy that the staff should carefully receive every customer, Lisa would've asked security to drive Brian out herself.

Seeing that Lisa personally handled Brian, Anne didn't dare to say anything more.

Looking at his receding figure, Anne muttered to herself with a sinister smile, "Let's see how this turns out."

Lisa took Brian to the area of the bank's private vaults and asked politely, "What's the number of your vault?"

"001."

Lisa was stunned. Wasn't 001 their most secure, most supreme vault?

Though full of doubts, she still maintained a polite smile. "Please put your hand here for fingerprint scanning. We need to confirm your identity."

Brian obediently pressed his palm against the screen of the smart lock.

"Sorry, your identity could not be confirmed at this time. Please try again."

Upon hearing this, Lisa loathed Brian even more. But she still kept her smile and gestured at the smart lock once more. "Please try again."

Brian thought for a while and decided to use his other hand.

Lisa's patience was running thin and she trying to come up with an excuse to kick Brian out.

This pauper had wasted so much of her time. The more she thought about it, the angrier she felt.

However, the smart lock's mechanical voice interrupted her thoughts. "Identity confirmed. You may pass."

Lisa was shocked. How the hell was that possible? He actually unlocked the door to their supreme vault! Who on earth was this man?

But now wasn't the time to find out. Lisa immediately straightened her clothes and put on the most sincere smile.

If this man had access to a supreme vault in Citibank, then he had to be someone she couldn't afford to offend.

The door of the vault slowly opened.

When Brian took a look inside it, his legs went limp and he almost fell to the floor.

"Sir, what's wrong?"
