Chapter 4 At Least Five Hundred Thousand Dollars

Lisa rushed over to Brian worriedly. When she looked inside the vault, she too was dumbfounded.

The sheer shock sent her spiraling, and she almost fell to the floor as well.

Now that the door to the vault was opened, Brian and Lisa could see clearly that inside was cash and gold bars stacked as high as them!

There was a sea of money inside the vault!

Lisa slowly turned her head to look at Brian in disbelief. Her heart was filled with shock and confusion.

This man looked like a fucking pauper. How could he be so rich?

Lisa gulped nervously. She eyed Brian warily, feeling her legs go limp from under her.

After all, who wouldn't be freaked out by such a sight? No woman could resist such a young and rich man.

Brian was also reeling from what he could see in front of him. "This... This is just... living allowances? Then my family..."

He couldn't even imagine how many bottles he'd have to pick up to make this much money!

The two of them fell silent for a moment.

After a long while, Lisa cleared her throat and broke the silence. "Sir, how much do you plan to withdraw?"

Her voice pulled Brian back to his senses. He was confused by this question.

He was still confused by this whole situation. Fortunately, he was sober enough to know that he had to take things slow. He wasn't used to the fact that he had just become a rich man.

Brian thought for a while and realized that he wasn't in any urgent need of money, so he said casually, "Ten thousand."

Stunned for a moment, Lisa forced an awkward smile and said, "Sir, this is our top private vault. The minimum withdrawal amount is no less than five hundred thousand dollars..."

Brian winced, his mind swirling at the thought. Five hundred thousand dollars? What would he do with that much money?

Then again, he didn't have much of a choice. Even if he wasn't in urgent need of that much money, he did need to buy food.

After all, he had given all of his money to Rosy. Now, he was literally penniless.

Brian scratched the back of his head helplessly and said, "In that case, I'd like to withdraw five hundred thousand dollars. Can you give me a bag to carry the money?"

He wasn't prepared for this at all. After all, never in his wildest dreams would he have expected he'd need a bag to carry all that money.

Hearing that Brian needed help, Lisa leaped into action excitedly. "Of course, sir! Please wait a minute!"

When she came back, she brought a backpack with Citibank's logo on it.

On the backpack, in fine print, there was a text that read, "To commemorate a deposit of more than one hundred million dollars."

Lisa handed the backpack to Brian and smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, sir. This is all the bank has to offer. Would this be alright?"

She was in a rather nervous state. How could she ask a rich man like Brian to use a tacky souvenir? Would he be pissed off?

Of course, Brian didn't mind at all. He nodded and asked Lisa to stuff the five hundred thousand dollars into the bag for him.

Soon, the backpack was filled to the brim with bills.

After confirming that this backpack was strong enough to carry it all, Brian left the bank with satisfaction.

Lisa escorted the distinguished client out respectfully. She even waved at him and sent him off with well wishes for good measure.

Seeing this, Anne was confused. How come Lisa was so respectful with Brian now?

Puzzled, Anne asked a colleague in a low voice, "Why was Miss Dockery so nice to that loser? And how'd he get that backpack? Isn't it a souvenir for clients who deposit at least one hundred million dollars?"

The colleague looked at her as though she was crazy. "Loser? What loser? That guy just withdrew five hundred thousand dollars! Miss Dockery was the one who gave him the bag! How on earth could you call that man a loser?"

Anne's jaw nearly dropped to the floor. Brian withdrew five hundred thousand dollars?

Wasn't he penniless? Where the hell did he get five hundred thousand dollars?
