Chapter 10 Win The Lottery

Hearing the man's words, Brian pursed his lips in disdain. He didn't want to have anything to do with such an idiot at all.

Under everyone's expectant gaze, Brian slowly unzipped his backpack.

A split second later, everyone saw the mounds of cash inside it.

This scene shocked everyone.

As Brian calmly pulled wads of cash out of the bag, Jeanne exclaimed, "Jesus Christ! Where did you get so much money? Did you rob the bank?"

Brian simply smiled and didn't answer. It didn't take long before he pulled out a hundred and thirty thousand dollars' worth of cash and handed it to the waiter.

"Here you go. Keep the change."

As soon as Brian finished speaking, the waiter's eyes lit up happily. "Thank you so much, sir. You're more than welcome to dine here again."

Before Kim could recover from the shock, Brian zipped up his backpack, slung it over his shoulder, and left with Maggie.

Whenever Brian walked past a waiter, the latter would immediately bow down and say enthusiastically, "Come again soon, sir!"

All the waiters fawned over him, thinking that this young man was so charming. He spoke with action instead of words, and his actions indicated that he was moneyed.

That was what a real rich man looked like. As for the loud one left in the private room, he was nothing compared to this young man.

When Brian and Maggie strode out of the hotel, he paused to look at her and said sincerely, "Thank you so much for today."

"Well, I didn't do anything, but you're welcome," Maggie said with a sweet smile.

Then she changed the subject. "You really surprised me today. Although I don't know where you got all that money, I hope you won't spend it all in one go. You shouldn't do that again. After all, I'm sure it wasn't easy to get the money."

Brian smiled bitterly, knowing that it was indeed easy for him to get money now. But he still nodded and said, "I understand. Thanks for the concern."

Smiling brightly, Maggie waved at him and said, "Well, I'm off. Bye!"

In the private room, Kim was at a loss, staring at the bill of one hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars.

He regretted everything deeply.

In the end, he paid eighty thousand dollars first. That was all he had now and he really couldn't afford the rest.

Gritting his teeth, Kim handed his car key to the waiter and said reluctantly, "I didn't bring enough money with me today. I'll keep my Audi here as collateral. It's worth two hundred thousand dollars. I'll pay the rest of the bill tomorrow."

"You'd better pay by tomorrow. Otherwise, you won't be able to get your Audi back," the waiter said coldly.

Kim snapped impatiently, "I know, you don't have to tell me that!"

The waiter narrowed his eyes at Kim with disdain. Clearly, this man was just a fool pretending to be rich.

Thinking about the noble young man just now, he couldn't help but compare that man to this idiot. Tsk tsk. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Kim walked out of the hotel dejectedly. "Damn it! Where the fuck did he get the money?"

He had wanted to embarrass Brian today, but he didn't expect that the tables would turn in the end.

While he was struggling to pay the bill, all his classmates left the private room, claiming they were going to the restroom. Sure enough, none of them came back.

Only Jeanne stayed.

However, this only made Kim even more furious.

He cursed angrily, "Damn it! Those scumbags can't be trusted."

"Kim, why're you so worked up? Forty thousand's nothing to you, right? So what if you didn't bring enough money with you today? We can get back at Brian tomorrow. I think the bastard must've spent his entire life's savings for this meal."

Jeanne held Kim's arm, trying to comfort him.

Hearing this, Kim almost lost his temper on the spot.

It was easy for Jeanne to say these things because she wasn't the one who paid the bill! If it weren't for her pretty face, he would've dumped her long ago.

Knowing that Kim was in a bad mood, Jeanne changed the subject. "Hey, are we still going to buy a lottery ticket today?"

Suddenly, a thought occurred to Kim. "I just remembered. Brian hasn't given me the lottery ticket I asked him to buy yesterday."

"What if the ticket he bought for you was the winner? And he went to cash it in secretly? How else could he have gotten so much money all of a sudden?" Jeanne pieced the puzzle together at once.

Kim found her reasoning believable. Truly, it was the only logical explanation.

Kim nodded. Through gritted teeth, he said to Jeanne, "You're right. Let's beat the truth out of that bastard!"

Meanwhile, Brian was walking back to school with his backpack full of cash.

He was planning to go back to his dormitory to stash the money before going to the Megatitan Group.

However, it suddenly occurred to Brian that it wasn't safe to hide so much money in his room. What if someone saw it and stole it?

Brian quickly changed his mind. He decided to go to the Megatitan Group first.

Along the way, Brian lowered his head, wondering how he should deal with the rest of the money in the bag.

Just as he arrived at the Megatitan Group's building, Brian bumped into Joyce Leech, who was rushing.

Brian was startled. He staggered backward a few steps but managed to steady himself.

Joyce, on the other hand, was knocked to the ground.

Her assistant, Lydia Hughes, hurriedly helped her up and asked with concern, "Joyce, are you okay?"

Joyce nodded her head and said wryly, "I'm fine."

With a sullen face, Lydia glared at Brian and scolded, "Are you blind? What if you really hurt her?"
