Chapter 7 Our Maid Sara

Immediately Sara sat at the back seat and buckled her seat belt, Abram drove out of the mansion like a mad man.

He drove so fast and Sara kept seeing death infront of her.

He kept overtaking other cars and driving so fast.

Sara couldn't help but shout when she saw him overtaking a lorry.

In no time, they arrived at the grocery store.

"Are you mad? Are you crazy? Are you foolish? What's the meaning of this?" Yelled Sara as she got off the car.

"I couldn't stand your smell in my car and we both didn't want to get late right? So be it Silly maid!" He said and drove away.

"You are really mad. Someone cast a witch spell on you and that person died i bet. You are a lunatic! Lunatic!" Yelled Sara and noticed that everyone was looking at her.

"What are you looking at?" She Asked and they all got back to whatever they were doing.

She got in the grocery store feeling so angry.

She had a list of the food stock needed from the list of rules.

It was meant to last for a week before she buys another one.

Many people were at the store that day and the items were in high demand.

Sara had to fight for some items which were scarce.

It was 30 minutes to breakfast when she got out of the store.

She was lucky to have found a taxi just outside.

"Will i be able to make breakfast in just 15 minutes? That's too little. I've not even showered Shantel. What do i do?" Thought Sara for a while as she got in the cab.

She saw a restaurant just after the grocery store and a silly idea came up.

She bought breakfast for everyone and lunch for the kids as take away and drove back to the house.

She rushed to the kitchen after paying the cab man and quickly served the breakfast.

She packed the lunch in containers and kept them ready for the kids.

She made sure to hide the take away bags before she went to wake Shanel.

"It's time for your bath" she told her but Shanel got back to sleeping.

"If you don't shower the aliens will come for you" said Sara and that made Shanel to lose all her sleep.

"Give me a bath now!" Shouted Shanel and Sara liked how she had control over the little girl.

She quickly gave her a bath and took her downstairs to have her breakfast.

"You can start eating. I'll be right back" said Sara.

"We ain't allowed to eat if the rest are not yet here. We start eating at the same time and finish at the same time" said Shanel

"What? They are elders. They eat faster than you. Don't you feel hungry after that?" Asked Sara feeling bad for Shanel.

No wonder at her age she was tough and not chubby like other kids.

"I don't want to talk to you" said Shanel

"Look, if we become good friends, i can hide extra food for you. So that if you still feel hungry after eating with them, you can eat again to your satisfaction. But if you don't want, then suit yourself. You will always remain hungry" said Sara and went to Eden's room.

He woke him up and helped him take a shower.

"Aunt Sara, today i had a good sleep. It felt like i slept with my mom" said Eden as Sara dressed him up.

"I would prefer you to call me sister Sara. That aunt makes me look old" she said and Eden smiled.

"I've never had a sister of my own" said Eden

"What do you mean by that? Ain't Stacy, Tasha and Shanel your sisters?" Asked Sara

"I... i meant that they are my sisters but don't act like my sisters. So that's why i said that" said Eden nervously

"What is he trying to hide from me?" Wondered Sara

"SARAA!" called Mrs Mehta angrily.

"Now what did you do again?" Asked Eden worrying for Sara.

"I don't know Eden. Just wait here. I'll be back" Sara and rushed downstairs.

"Who the hell are you to try and change rules of my family?" Asked Mrs Mehta angrily

"What did i do?" Asked Sara

"You dare to ask? Who told you to let Shanel eat before the rest start?" Asked Mrs Mehta

"But ma'am, she is younger than all of you. She can't eat at your pace. That's why i asked her to start before the rest. She can't get satisfied in just 7 minutes like all of you" explained Sara.

"On your knees now! You can't plan for my family. And you Shanel, you know the rules and yet disobeyed? To your room now! Don't come out until lunch" said Mrs Mehta

"Don't punish her! Its not her fault. Just punish me" said Sara going down on her knees feeling bad for Shanel.

"Out of here Shanel!" Said Mrs Mehta

"Ma'am she is just a kid. She can't go hungry. Just punish me instead" said Sara.

"Shut up you fool! Now, walk with your knees to the kitchen and back until the rest of us finish eating. Go now!" Said Mrs Mehta and Shanel went away in tears.

Sara wanted to rebel but then who would take care of Eden and Shanel for her.

Thats when she realised that all the kids were suffering in the hands of their mother.

They had no say when it came to her and they couldn't rebel at all.

Sara started walking on her knees from and to the kitchen and back.

Sara saw how they were all silent at the table, eating at one pace and when the timer went off, they all stopped eating, picked their lunch boxes and left the house.

"Clean this mess and make lunch for Shanel in time" said Mrs Mehta and left the house.

Sara stood up and sat on the chair in the dining room.

Her knees were in pain and swollen in red.

Her fair skin betrayed her in such moments.

She still stood up, cleaned the table and served food for both Eden and Shanel.

She took the food to Eden's room and placed it on the table.

"Sister Sara what happened to your knees? Are you okay?" Asked Eden.

"I'm fine Eden. Let me check on Shanel" said Sara and went out.

She opened Shanel's door just for her to come out and hug her tightly.
