Chapter 3 Our Maid Sara

Sara looked at the rules unbelievably.

"These others don't matter. I'll just check the family rules" she said

"Breakfast for the family should be ready by 6am everyday.

Lunch by 12pm every Saturday and Sunday and when the kids are on holiday.

Supper 8pm everyday.

Wake up early and clean the house before breakfast.

Shantel should take a birth before breakfast.

Prepare lunch boxes for the school kids to be given after breakfast...

To hell with these rules!!!" Yelled Sara and lay on her bed feeling so tired.

She wanted to sleep for just 10 minutes but it turned to hours.

She heard a knock on the door and it woke her up.

"What time is it? Oh my God!! Its almost seven. I've not prepared supper. Shantel has not taken a birth. who would be knocking at this time?" Asked Sara in a panic.

She straightened her dress, wiped her face to get rid of the sleep and walked out.

"Just look, i got the laziest maid in this world. You were sleeping while my baby had been crying. She did not have her lunch in time nor did you give her a bath. Not even the evening milk! The supper is not even ready yet. Look here miss Nelson, if by 8pm the dinner is not ready and shantel has not taken a bath, you won't like it! Move it!" Commanded Mrs Mehta who was standing at the door holding Shanel and she looked like she was from her office.

"Sara, why did you sleep alot?" She asked herself as she ran downstairs but then stopped remembering she had to give Shanel a bath.

"Senseless!" Said Mrs Mehta as Sara picked Shanel from her.

She then walked over to her room and locked the door.

Sara quickly rushed to Shanel's room to give her a bath.

"Okay i don't want to make a mistake. What type of water do you use for a bath? Cold or hot or warm?" She asked

"I won't take a bath!" Said little Shanel

"But you have to take a bath little girl. I need to make supper" said Sara

"I said i won't take a bath!" Yelled Shanel again.

"You know what, sit here and think whether you'll have a bath or not. When you are done, call me i will come. I'm heading to the kitchen now" said Sara and almost reached the door when Shanel screamed.

"Why are you screaming?" Asked Sara panicking.

"I won't take a bath and you won't leave unless i take a bath" said Shanel stubbornly.

"Oh, is that so? Watch me!" Said Sara and grabbed the little girl, carried her towards the bathroom and placed her in the bathtub.

She opened the taps and poured warm water on her.

"What are you doing? My clothes are wet!" Yelled Shanel angrily.

"Now you listen, it's either you take off your clothes and take a bath or stay in the wet clothes and get sick!" Said Sara

"I won't take a bath!" Said Shanel

"That's your problem then. When the dirty Aliens come for you, i won't be there to save you" said Sara and started to move when the girl stopped her.

"Who are the dirty Aliens?" Asked Shanel

"No one told you? Dirty Aliens are dirty ugly people from underground. They hate clean kids who take their baths on time but they love dirty kids who hate to take their bath. They are very ugly! Whenever they sense a dirty kid who does not want to have their bath like you, they come for them when they are sleeping and take them away. They make the kids look like them, very dirty and ugly. Anyway since you don't want to take a birth, i'll go away. Wait for them to come for you" said Sara and pretended to leave the room.

"Wait! I don't want to be taken by the dirty Aliens. Give me a birth now!" Said Shanel feeling scared and Sara smiled satisfactorily.

She gave Shanel a quick bath and rushed towards the kitchen.

"I'm clean! No Dirty Alien will come for me now" said Shanel happily as she went downstairs to watch cartoon.

Sara in the kitchen saw that she was almost out of groceries.

She decided to cook with the little she had.

She prepared noodles and meat balls then served the table.

It was 15 minutes to 8pm.

Stacy a 15 years old girl was in her room playing video games when she smelt a sweet aroma of meat balls in the house.

"Who is making that?" She wondered and went out just to find that almost everyone was out of the room heading to the dinning except Abram who was not yet home.

Sara went over to Eden's room and gave him a quick bath.

"Aunt Sara thank you. I always struggle to give myself a bath everyday. You are an angel" said Eden as Sara was almost done dressing him up.

"Let's go downstairs for supper" she said

"No. Just bring my supper here. I'm not allowed to step out of this room" said Eden and Sara was touched.

"Why?" She asked

"Well, i'm not a normal kid so how can i eat with normal people" said Eden forcing a smile and Sara's heart got pierced.

"Eden you are a normal kid. Just because you can't walk doesn't mean you are inferior to anyone" said Sara

"I know that after you came in my life today but they don't know it" said Eden

"Then we will make them understand too" said Sara

"Please aunt Sara, let me have my supper here. If you get fired, then i won't have anyone to talk to me nor to give me a bath and give me food. Please, for me" begged Eden

"Just because you said this Eden, i will come and have supper with you. I will always have my meals with you. I won't leave you alone" said Sara and hugged Eden.

"What did you make for supper?" Asked Eden

"I made noodles and meat balls since those were the things left in the house" said Sara

"What? You are in trouble!" Said Eden and before he finished...

"SARAAA!" called out Mrs Mehta from the top most of her voice.

"Trouble!" Said Sara in panic.
