Chapter 5 Our Maid Sara

Sara walked back to Eden's room to finish her supper.

"Did he have supper?" Asked Eden

"Let him starve to death! I hate him! I don't even want to talk about him!" She said and Eden laughed.

"Let me ask, when was the last time you attended school?" Asked Sara after they were done eating.

"Four years ago. I stopped in grade 1" he said

"Thats long. Do you wish to go to school again?" She asked

"To say the truth, i've always wanted to go to school but they don't allow me. No one wants to be told they have a crippled family member. I lost hope of going to school even though i want to learn" he said

"Have you ever tried having online classes?" She asked

"I don't have a laptop nor phone to do so" he said

"You know Eden, i want to help you. Look, bare with me for afew months. I'll lend you my phone to use for study. When i get enough money, i'll buy you a laptop" she said

"Really aunt Sara?" He asked in tears

"Hey don't cry. I mean it" she said

"But which teacher will agree to do this?" He asked

"I have a friend. He is a good teacher. I'll talk to him tomorrow. You are willing to start from first right?" She asked

"Yes aunt Sara. I'm willing to do that but why are you helping me? What about your family?" He asked

"My family? They are fine without me. They are happy at home" she said in a smile and walked out with the plates.

She reached the kitchen and tears dropped down her chubby cheeks.

She remembered what her mother told her.

"Sara, never do bad to anyone. Even though we will be far from each other, we will always have each other in our hearts. Help others when you get a chance" thats what her mother told her.

She wiped her tears and washed the dishes.

Immediately she was done, the family came back home.

"Sara, take Shanel to her room" said Mrs Mehta who was carrying a sleeping Shanel in her arms.

"Ma'am, there is no food for breakfast tomorrow. We are out of stock" said Sara taking Shanel

"How is that possible! My house has never lacked food stock" said Mrs Mehta

"You can as well check ma'am" replied Sara

"How much do you need for the stock?" Asked Mrs Mehta

"I've not yet made calculations ma'am" replied Sara

"Here, have this. Get up early and buy the stock. My kids shouldn't go to school hungry" said Mrs Mehta and gave a bundle of notes to Sara who gasped.

The money was alot but Mrs Mehta just walked away.

"Is she testing me?" Wondered Sara as she went upstairs.

"Sara i need you in my room immediately you put Shantel to bed" said Stacy

"I need you in my room too" said Tasha

"I'll be there" said Sara and quickly moved to Shanel's room.

She put her to sleep and rushed to Eden's room to pick the container for Stacy.

"Why ain't you asleep?" Asked Sara

"Can't sleep. I always have a repeated nightmare" said Eden

"I'm coming. Let me see what the little madams want" said Sara and rushed out just to meet Mrs Mehta with a jug in her hands.

"Why are you in his room and what's that in your hands?" Asked Mrs Mehta

"These are my meat balls and i just came to see if he was sleeping" said Sara

"Stay away from him. He shouldn't be a reason for you to forget your duties in this house. Get me water" said Mrs Mehta and Sara rushed downstairs with the jug.

She came back and saw Mrs Mehta coming out of Eden's room.

She took the jug of water and went away.

Sara waited for her to get in her room before she went in to meet Eden.

He was crying inside his sheets.

"Eden, Eden why are you crying? What happened to you? Did Mrs Mehta do anything to you?" Asked Sara but Eden just hugged her.

"Come on, tell me what's wrong" said Sara

"I had a nightmare. Was Mrs Mehta here? I did not see her" said Eden and Sara knew he was lying but she did not want to push him further.

"Its okay. How about this, listen to music from my phone until i come back" said Sara and gave him her phone.

She walked out of the room feeling bad for the poor boy and went over to Stacy's room.

She knocked and Stacy opened the door quickly as if she had been waiting for so long.

"What took you so long? I've been waiting for this" said Stacy grabbing the container and picked a meat ball.

"You love meat balls?" Asked Sara

"They are my favourite!" Said Stacy in the middle of chewing and feeling the amazing taste.

"Why am i even telling you this?" Asked Stacy and sat on her bed.

"I'll leave then" said Sara

"You ain't leaving until i say so! Take out my maths book from the backpack and do my maths assignment for me" said Stacy

"But you are the student here" said Sara

"Hello, you are the maid here. You will do as i say. Now, sit down and do as i told you before i call my mom" said Stacy and Sara sat down.

"This work is too easy for a girl like you" said Sara and finished it in 5 minutes.

"Done!" Said Sara

"Good, i'm also done. Now leave" said Stacy and gave the container to Sara before pushing her out of the room.

"I hope she is not a fool like the rest of the maids who did my maths wrongly" said Stacy thoughtfully.

"Sara, i called you since ages" said Tasha stepping out of her room.

"Coming" said Sara and Rushed to Tasha's room.

She left the container outside of Tasha's room and went in.

"How may i be of help to you?" Asked Sara

"I want you to do my nails for me" she said

"But you can just have a pedicure since you are rich" said Sara

"You are the maid here and you will do as i say" said Tasha

"Why are they all behaving like lunatics?" Wondered Sara but still sat down to do Tasha's nails.

She did it for like 30 minutes and she was done.

Tasha looked at the nails and was impressed.

"How did she do that in just minutes?" Wondered Tasha and then kicked her out.

She was heading to Eden's room when Abram came out touching his head in pain.

"Hey you, get me a glass of water to my room" he said and got back in his room.

"Look at him commanding me as if he didn't call me Shitty stuff. He is the Shitty stuff! Will i get time to comfort Eden and rest? It's Sara everywhere!" Said Sara angrily and walked towards the kitchen.
