Chapter 4 Our Maid Sara

"Ma'am, anything wrong?" Asked Sara immediately she reached the dining room.

"What's this?" Asked Mrs Mehta pointing at the food in disgust.

"Supper ma'am" answered Sara

"Are you damn crazy? Bambucha! Bambucha come here this minute" called out Mrs Mehta and Bambucha came running.

"Yes boss" he said

"Did you give her the house rules?" Asked Mrs Mehta

"Yes ma'am, i did" answered Bambucha.

"Then what sort of madness is this?" Asked Mrs Mehta pushing the pot of meat balls towards him and he gasped.

"I gave you the rules to read. No meat in this house. What have you done?" Asked Bambucha to Sara who stood confused.

"But what's wrong with the meat?" She asked

"You dare to open your mouth to question us? You won't kill my children for me. Now listen up, i'm taking the kids out for supper. By the time we get back, you should've cleaned up everything. You can eat all of these by yourself if thats what you want but i shouldn't find it when i get back. Kids, Get your jackets and let's move" said Mrs Mehta picking Shanel in her arms and left the house.

"What about Eden?" Asked Sara but Mrs Mehta just turned, sized her from top to bottom and left.

At the table, there were two other girls who were Mrs Mehta's daughters.

One was around the age of 14 while the other was around 17.

The young one was Stacy and the other was Tasha.

Just two people were missing; the last kid and the father.

Sara watched them leaving but Stacy was feeling bad leaving the meatballs.

She kept looking back until she was finally away.

"You better read the rules and not get in trouble again" said Bambucha.

"Sorry, i just thought they would have it since it was the only thing left in the kitchen" said Sara

"Actually the other maid used to cook this for us and not for the family. Just go and read the meal rules of the house. Each day has its own specified meal unless they have a guest. Actually your food looks tasty. I'll share it with the rest" said Bambucha salivating already.

"Wait, why are they leaving Eden alone?" Asked Sara

"Mind your own business Sara. I don't want trouble" said Bambucha and just then Stacy came back running.

She pulled Sara away and whispered.

"Pack up some meat balls and place them in my room. No one should know.It's an order" she said and left.

"What does she want?" Asked Bambucha

"Mind your business too. Excuse me" said Sara and served two plates and one container.

"Grab the rest. I'll have dinner with Eden" said Sara and left.

She placed the container on her head, carried the two plates and balanced until she reached Eden's room.

"Hey buddy open up" she said and Eden opened the door.

"What's in the container?" Asked Eden

"Meat balls for one of the girls. The petite one with curly hair" described Sara

"Her name is Stacy" said Eden.

"She seems arrogant" said Sara as she sat on the bed with Eden to eat.

"Not really. She is like that because somethings are disturbing her mind. But she is a nice girl. I know her" said Eden.

"Okay as you say. How's the food?" Asked Sara

"Its very tasty. Actually i think Mrs Mehta was in a good mood today. Otherwise you would kneel down and have the food like a dog while she watches" said Eden.

"What? That's crazy. I wouldn't do it" said Sara

"I know Mrs Mehta, you would" said Eden

"Why do you keep calling her Mrs Mehta? Isn't she your mom?" Asked Sara

"If she were my mom, i wouldn't be locked up here. I would be attending school too and i would have a doctor checking on me every day" said Eden sadly.

"So how are you related to them? Where is your mom?" Asked Sara

"She is my step mother. My mother died in the same accident that made me like this" said Eden but before Sara could say anything, there was commotion.

"Where is she? Where is the new maid? What's her name?" That was a man's voice asking in anger.

"Who is that?" Asked Sara

"Must be Abram. I think you are in trouble again. What did you do?" Asked Eden

"It's that arrogant man I met in the morning. Better he is home now. I will get straight with him!" Said Sara

"You have already met him? Better be careful. He can even throw you out of the window!" Said Eden

"Now you are scaring me, but i did nothing wrong. He is the one who started it" said Sara

"SARAA!" called out the man in anger and Sara almost hid under Eden's bed.

"He is really angry" said Eden

"What do i do? Let me go and check. I'll be back. I don't fear him" said Sara, took a deep breath and went out.

"I pity her. Its just her first day and this happened. I don't know what Abram will do to her" said Eden.

"Oh God help me. This house is really trouble" said Sara and just as she took the first staircase, the man in a black suit turned and saw her.

She almost ran back to where she came from.

"Its you right? Wait there for me!" Said the man and took the stairs quickly to where Sara was standing.

She was trembling in fear.

He was a tall fair man, arrogance written all over him.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her with him.

"Sir, sir, what did i do wrong? Don't throw me out of the window i'll die" said Sara in fear but she found herself in his room.

"What? I cleaned up this room. Why is it a mess?" Asked Sara in shock.

The room had been turned upside down.

Bedsheets fallen all over the place, wardrobe disarranged and the bed had been undone.

"How dare you come to my room and disorganise my things?" Asked Abram angrily.

"Disorganise? I arranged everything perfectly! How it should be. The room looked ugly and shadowy. I just made it colourful" said Sara

"You call my room ugly? You made it ugly but i liked the way it was. Look, you better return it to how it was before i fire you. Do it now!" He roared and Sara got scared.

"And next time, never enter my room without my permission" he said

"Yes sir" she said.

She quickly brought back the grey sheets and curtains and pillows.

She got everything back to shadowy and boring.

"Okay sir i'm done. But you have not done your part yet" she said

"What part?" He asked

"You almost knocked me down in the morning" she said

"So?" He asked

"Are you really asking me that? You have to apologise! Say sorry" she said and folded her arms but Abram gave her an ironic smirk.

"You must be crazy girl! Abram never apologises to anyone! You have eyes and legs, you had to stay away from my path when you saw my car. You ain't special enough for me to apologise to you, shitty stuff!" Said Abram, pulled her out of the room and banged the door before her making her cringe.

"Shitty stuff? Me? I will show you! This is not over Abram!" She said and went away.
