Chapter 10 Our Maid Sara

At the dinner table Shanel ate a little and stopped.

"Mommy i'm not hungry" she said.

"Shanel, you know you shouldn't talk at the dinner table. If you are not hungry, don't come at the table or wait for others to finish and then go out together. You get it?" Asked Mrs Mehta angrily.

"Sorry mom" she said and sat silently.

"What did you have for lunch?" Asked Mrs Mehta

"Steamed vegetables and boiled rice" she lied and Mrs Mehta didn't say anything.

She thought Sara was following the rules and doing a good job.

Immediately the alarm rang to end the dinner, Shanel and Stacy ran to their rooms as if they were suffocating at the table.

"Whats wrong with them?" Asked Mrs Mehta.

"I'm not them, how should i know?" Asked Tasha and went away rolling her eyes.

"I'm your mother Tasha! You should talk to me with respect!" Said Mrs Mehta

"Well, is there anything wrong i said MOTHER!" Said Tasha with an insistance on the word mother.

"Don't talk to me with that attitude! I gave birth to you!" Said Mrs Mehta

"Yes you did because it was your responsibility! A result of your sex with Dad!" Said Tasha angrily and she just got surprised with a very hot slap on her right cheek which brought everyone out of their rooms.

Tasha held her cheek, looked at her mother and laughed.

"It didn't hurt at all. Not more than what you..." started Tasha and went mute after seeing Sara and the rest of the siblings.

She just rushed to her room and locked the door.

"What are you all looking at? Sara, clean the table now!" Said Mrs Mehta and went to her room angrily.

"What is really wrong with this family?" Wondered Sara.

She cleaned the table and then served fried rice and chicken for Stacy and Shanel.

She reached upstairs and saw Mrs Mehta coming out of Eden's room.

She had to hide since she would get in trouble if the food was seen.

After she left, Sara rushed to Eden and saw him crying.

"Now tell me, what did this woman do to you?" Asked Sara folding her arms.

"Nothing Sister. Something just entered my eyes" he lied

"Why do you keep lying to me? Don't you trust me? What did she do?" Asked Sara but then Shanel walked in.

"Aunt Sara i'm really hungry" she said locking the door behind her.

"Why is he crying?" She asked after noticing Eden in tears but he quickly wiped his tears.

"I just got so happy after seeing chicken" he lied

"You love chicken?" Asked Shanel and he nodded.

She took a piece of chicken and went over to him and fed him.

"You guys carry on, i'll be right back" said Sara and went to Stacy's room.

She knocked and Stacy pulled her in.

"Why do you always delay?" Asked Stacy

"Your mom was around. It would be bad if she saw me with this" said Sara

"Okay go ahead and do the assignment" she said

"But why don't you do it yourself and let me teach you? You will fail in your exams if i keep doing this for you" said Sara

"Just do as i say. Do the work or else..." said Stacy and stayed silent.

"Else what? You will get me fired? Then go ahead coz i won't do your homework today" said Sara and folded her arms.

"Look, get down and do the assignment for me. I don't want to be the worst in class" said Stacy

"Then you have to listen to me" said Sara

"And why should i listen to you? See, i'm going to tell my mom that you make other unhealthy foods for us and get you fired" said Stacy and was on her way out when Sara stopped her.

"Before you do that, give back my fried Rice and chicken. Let me enjoy it before i leave this house for you to eat steamed vegetables. No one is willing to come and be your maid here. I go, you will never get to eat such tasty food. Trust me!" Said Sara and took the container from her.

"Are you blackmailing me?" Asked Stacy hands akimbo.

"No i'm not my dear. I'm just telling you. If you wish to keep eating this food, then come over to Eden's room for a tutoring but if you don't, then stay here or go to your mom but your assignment will be undone. You will be the worst student for refusing to learn. Suit yourself girl. I'm in Eden's room if you need me" said Sara and went away.

Stacy sat on her bed angrily and thought.

Her stomach kept rumbling in hunger.

"She is black mailing me!" Said Stacy angrily after thinking so much.

Just after Sara stepped out of her room, she met Abram coming home.

"Hello sir, shall i serve you dinner?" She asked

"I'm not hungry, i ate out" he said and moved towards his room but she followed him.

"Sir, why don't you like taking food at home? I took my to prepare the food. Atleast have a taste of it" she said

"Oh really? So where is it for me to taste?" He asked

"I'll get it for you sir" she said and almost ran off to the kitchen but he stopped her.

"No need for that. You were never prepared" he said

"Then taste this one" she said giving the container.

"Did you use that spoon?" He asked.

"No it... it... i... i... Yes i did" she had to lie not wanting Stacy to get caught eating something else different from the family.

"Then i won't have the food. You are just looking for a way for me to kiss you indirectly" he said

"What? Are you crazy? You think i'm so desparate to kiss you? Your lips are not even sexy" she said

"Out of my way!" He said

"Look, i'm not here to kiss you. Just tell me the time you will have your meals and where i should place them so that you can see them and eat" said Sara sternly.

"Breakfast should be ready as soon as i get out of the bathroom. Bring supper to my office at exactly 7pm. As for lunch, you can guess the time and know what to do" he said and went in his room locking the door.

"What? You are crazy!" She yelled and went away.
