Chapter 8 The Second Task

Everyone in the kitchen was rendered speechless when Zane admitted his defeat.

No one would've thought that a Michelin-starred chef who had been in this industry for over 20 years would lower his head to a novice.

"This is bullshit! How could someone who has never even tasted expensive food defeat you?" Kevin nearly pulled all the hair out of his head.

Despite his denial, the facts were right in front of him. His uncle wouldn't lie to him, and it was undeniable that the dish in front of them looked too perfect to eat.

While everyone was still in a daze, Lillian called the security guards over. Pointing at Kevin, she said harshly, "This person disturbed our most distinguished guest's meal. Kick him out."

The security guards nodded and grabbed Kevin without hesitation. They dragged him out of Breezy Hotel and threw him to the sidewalk as though he was nothing but trash.

While he was rubbing his aching bum, Ellie, who had been waiting outside, hurried to his side and asked, "Kevin, how did it go? You look pale; what happened? Where is Tristan?"

Kevin couldn't meet her inquiring eyes. "N-nothing happened. When that loser saw me, he ran away like a coward."

"Really?" Ellie looked doubtful, but on second thought, she figured that Kevin was telling the truth. After all, how could a poor loser like Tristan make things difficult for a rich guy like Kevin?

She had never misjudged a person.

Meanwhile, inside Breezy Hotel, everyone in the kitchen was still in a state of utter shock.

Lillian was no exception. She was under the impression that Tristan was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but she never thought he'd be so good at cooking.

Realizing this, she came to admire Tristan even more. So when she walked out with him, she made it a point to gently brush the back of her hand against his.

A virgin like Tristan couldn't stand such a flirty move, especially since it was coming from someone as beautiful as Lillian.

However, Tristan was a simple and honest man and he didn't dare to do anything to her. He could do nothing but restrain his urges, especially since there were so many people around.

Before leaving, Lillian escorted Tristan to the gate of Breezy Hotel. To Tristan's surprise, all the hotel employees were standing in a straight line outside to say goodbye to him.

He couldn't help but chuckle softly. Never before in his life had he been treated like this.

Tristan was just getting comfortable when the familiar robotic voice suddenly spoke to him again.

"System Task activated! Consume ten million dollars in seventy-two hours.

Once the mission is accomplished, hidden achievements will be activated and you will be rewarded by the system.

System payment is in progress..."

Three seconds later, Tristan's phone pinged. He had received ten million dollars, as expected.

After glancing at the notification from the bank, Tristan became excited. Not only did he have the pleasure of squandering money, but he also enjoyed the benefits of the system's granted skills. Of course, he hoped to gain more wealth and skills in the future. And now, he had a new task to accomplish.

After mulling over it for a while, Tristan realized that he didn't have a place to stay outside of school. Because everyone at school knew that he had been dumped by Ellie, he knew that he'd only be bullied if he stayed there. It would be better if he bought a house off-campus.

However, Tristan didn't know much about high-end real estate in Aylbupool. After thinking for a while, he decided to ask Lillian for help. "Lillian, do you know of any mansions on sale nearby?"

Lillian was taken aback. "Is a villa okay?" she asked after a while.

"Of course!"

It didn't matter if it was a villa or a mansion. What mattered was that it had to be worth ten million dollars.

"Have you heard about the Stalpree Villas? I have a roommate who works in sales there. If you have time, we can check it out now." Lillian smiled at him enthusiastically.
