One million dollars?!

Tristan was shell-shocked when he read the message.

Never in his wildest dreams would he have expected such a windfall!

One million dollars! He had one million dollars in his account!

Even if Tristan worked every single day for the rest of his life, he never would've made that much!

But now, he had received one million dollars without lifting a finger!

The so-called "Magnate System" had assigned a novice task to him-to spend a million dollars within twenty-four hours. In Tristan's eyes, it was a piece of cake!

Tristan was so excited that he couldn't help but giggle, fantasizing about how he'd spend the money.

Just then, he heard some voices coming from outside the infirmary.

"Ellie broke up with Tristan?"

"Yeah. I heard that Tristan was so angry that he fainted on the spot. If Hannah Mitchell hadn't called the infirmary for him, he might still be lying unconscious on the sports field now."

"Ha-ha, really? Tristan is so pathetic!"

"Well, he's just a poor loser after all. If he was half as rich as Kevin, he wouldn't have ended up like this."

Tristan sobered up immediately. He realized that while he was unconscious, the news that he had been dumped had spread throughout the whole university.

And the bastard who stole his girlfriend was likely the one responsible!

Just thinking about it made Tristan grit his teeth angrily.

At that moment, he swore to himself that he'd make that shameless couple pay for what they did to him.

The old Tristan couldn't do anything but swallow the insults and endure the humiliation. But now that he had the Magnate System, Tristan believed that he could redeem himself!

He made up his mind to complete the novice task as soon as possible.

As soon as he left the infirmary, Tristan headed straight to Breezy Hotel.

Breezy Hotel was known to be high-end and luxurious, and it also happened to be near their school.

Tristan didn't know much about luxuries, but before, the vainglorious Ellie had wanted him to take her there.

However, as soon as Tristan heard that the cheapest dish there was $888, he instantly refused her. How could a poor guy like him afford a place like Breezy Hotel?

Tristan smiled wryly. Before, he had nothing, but now, he had a million dollars to his name. Moreover, it was his birthday today, so he decided to treat himself to a good meal.

Just as Tristan was about to enter Breezy Hotel, the hostess stopped him at the door.

"Hello, sir. Are you here for lunch?" Although she was smiling, the hostess stretched out her hand to stop Tristan from entering.

"Yes," Tristan answered honestly.

"Okay, sir. Our hotel employs a membership system, so we need you to show us your membership card before letting you in," the hostess said lightly.

"But I don't have a membership card," Tristan said, frowning slightly.

"Then I'm afraid you cannot enter." The smile instantly disappeared from the hostess's face and she addressed Tristan coldly.

"Then... How can I get a membership card?" Tristan asked curiously.

"Breezy Hotel offers three levels of membership-ordinary, medium, and senior. You need to deposit a hundred thousand dollars to get an ordinary membership card, two hundred thousand dollars for medium membership, and three hundred thousand for senior membership."

As she spoke, the hostess looked Tristan up and down in disgust. He was clearly wasting her time.

"So cheap! Can I deposit a million dollars instead?" Tristan asked casually.

One million dollars?

The hostess's jaw went slack.

She squinted at Tristan suspiciously. The young man was wearing cheap, worn-out clothes. He clearly couldn't afford a membership card here.

But because Tristan said that he wanted to deposit a million dollars, she didn't dare to act rashly. After all, there were some rich people who liked to keep a low profile.

After a while, the hostess finally replied, "Please wait a moment, sir. I'll ask the manager on duty."

"Okay." Tristan nodded.

However, just as the hostess was about to go and ask the manager on duty, a man and a woman happened to be walking out of Breezy Hotel.

A surprised voice called out his name. "Tristan? What're you doing here?"

Tristan looked up in surprise. What a small world!

The couple was none other than Ellie and Kevin.

"Tristan, you're so pathetic! You even came here to look for me? Stalker much!" Ellie crossed her arms over her chest and sneered in disdain.

"You're wrong. I didn't come here for you; I came here for lunch," Tristan answered indifferently.

"Lunch? Ha-ha!" Ellie burst into mocking laughter.

Kevin also smiled at Tristan gloatingly. Clicking his tongue, he said, "Do you know where you are, Tristan? This is Breezy Hotel! This is the best hotel in all of Aylbupool! A single dish here can make a poor man like you go bankrupt."

As he spoke, Kevin patted the imaginary dust off his expensive suit. Then he pointed at the kennel across the street and sneered, "You see that? That's where you belong! Get out of here. If you show up in front of us again, I'll make your life miserable."

Kevin's tone suddenly turned fierce.
