Chapter 9 Damn beautiful!

"Ma'am... you are so beautiful."

Mary-Adeline's personal secretary, exclaimed in praise of Adeline's stunning appearance. The simple-looking gold-colored dress was so luxurious when worn by Adeline. Adeline's blonde hair fell behind her back. Flawless makeup made Adeline absolutely perfect.

Although she has given birth, Adeline has beautiful curves. Some of Adeline's body shapes are challenging to seduce the men.

Mary, who saw Adeline's appearance, did not blink an eye. Beautiful. Even very beautiful.

"Is it true that this dress suits me, Mary? After giving birth my body shape is not as slim as it used to be."

The Dimond Hotel was one of the luxury hotels in New York. The hotel was chosen as the venue for the Geovern family's dinner together with important business acquaintances of the Geovern family. Of course, those who attended this party were not from an arbitrary circle. The invited guests who attended this dinner were invited guests who were certainly famous businessmen.

"Are you alone, Alisha? Where's Steven?" Adeline asked as she released her sister's embrace.

"Steven is with his business partner, Sis," Alisha replied. "I'm glad you came, Ade."

Adeline smiled. "Yes, Aidan asked me to come. Hm ... Alisha, where are Dad and Mom?" she asked quietly.

"Dad and Mom are greeting the guests. They're on the left side," Alisha replied as she moved her head to the left.

Adeline slowly shifted her gaze to the left side. Adeline looked at her parents, who were talking to the guests. Adeline saw Linda-her mother, giving her a smile. However, unfortunately, Thomas-her father ignored her existence. As if she didn't exist at this party.

"Sis, I'm coming for a while. Steven is calling me," Alisha said when she saw her husband gesturing for her to come closer.

Adeline nodded her head. Then, Alisha immediately stepped over to Steven. Several of Adeline's friends smiled at her cousins. On the far right, Adeline had seen Aidan and Sarah-his brother's wife-greeting the guests.

Aidan and Sarah waved to her asking Adeline to join, but Adeline was still reluctant to join. Adeline just flashed a smile on her face. A warm smile at her brother and sister-in-law.

"Adeline Geovern." A baritone voice called Adeline's name; reflexively, Adeline turned her gaze to the source of the voice.

And instantly, Adeline fell silent, staring at the handsome man in front of her. There was a strange feeling in Adeline when someone greeted her 'Adeline Geovern'; it had been a long time since anyone had called her by her father's surname.

"Excuse me? Did we know each other before?" Adeline asked with a friendly smile on her face at the man in front of her.

In Adeline's mind, she tried to remember the man who greeted her. But unfortunately, Adeline didn't remember the man's figure. It was possible that the man in front of her was her father's new business partner in the last five years. Because if it was an old business partner, then Adeline would definitely recognize him.

"Lewis Beckwith... you can call me Lewis." The man introduced himself as he extended his hand to Adeline. Even Adeline welcomed the man's hand in a friendly manner.

"Adeline ... you can call me Adeline," Adeline replied kindly.

Lewis nodded his head. "It's impossible not to recognize the daughter of the famous businessman Thomas Geovern. Well, without you introducing yourself of course I know your name, Adeline."

"You came to this party alone?" Lewis asked, looking at Adeline.

"As you can see, I came to this party alone," Adeline replied warmly.

"I've seen you in the media but you're much prettier than what I saw in the media." Lewis said complimenting Adeline.

Adeline smiled. "Thank you, Lewis."

"I came to you earlier with the permission of your brother; Aidan. I asked Aidan for permission to introduce you. And it turns out that your brother allowed it. Looks like Goddess Fortuna is coming my way tonight," Lewis told her with a smile on his face.

Adeline was a little surprised to hear Lewis's words. The next second, Adeline's gaze turned to Aidan, who was on the far right. Aidan seemed to move his head slightly. It meant that her brother was asking her to get acquainted with a man named Lewis. Again, and again. This was not the first time. Her brother often tried to introduce her to many men.

"Ah, I see. Okay, Lewis." Adeline carved a smile. She was a little confused about how to answer Lewis's words.

Not attending an event like this for a long time made Adeline really awkward. Even now, there were so many people staring at her. Luckily Adeline had a family that never put her down. The camera flashed on Hunter and Hailey. Hailey was seen smiling several times and waving her hand in front of the camera. As a famous lawyer, Hunter's name was often recognized by the media.
