Chapter 3 I can raise this child on my own!

Adeline staggered into the lobby of her apartment. She looked pale. Her eyes were puffy. Her beautiful face was clearly weak. The glow in her blue eyes had dimmed. Happiness was no longer in those beautiful eyes. All that was left was despair.

Immediately Adeline's tears fell down her cheeks. Every time she remembered Hunter, her heart would always be shattered into pieces. The man she loved so much was a man who treated her like a doll that was no longer worth wearing. Hunter threw her away like trash. That man had managed to destroy her until there was nothing left.

Adeline wiped away her tears. She confirmed in her heart that she was capable of raising the child in her womb. She didn't need Hunter to raise this child at all. With or without Hunter in her life, Adeline could live a life together with the child in her womb.

When She arrived at her apartment unit, she looked surprised because the door was open.

Adeline's face was a little panicked. She immediately entered her apartment. However, suddenly Adeline's face changed to find her father standing by, giving her a sharp look. Then her mother looked at her with reddened eyes as if she had been crying.

"D-Dad? Mom? Y-You guys are here? When did you come?" Adeline asked with difficulty. Her throat was constricted, and it was difficult to form words.

"Whose testpacks are these, Adeline?" Thomas - her father - shouted thunderously as he threw the five testpacks in his hand right into Adeline's face.

Adeline's face paled. Her eyes showed surprise when her father found her testpacks. "Dad, this is-"

"Don't you dare lie to me, Adeline!" Thomas snapped so loudly.

Adeline couldn't hold back her tears. She knew that no matter how hard she lied to her father, it was futile. Because eventually, both her parents would find out about her pregnancy.

"Dad..." Adeline fell at her father's feet in tears. "I'm sorry, Dad. I'm sorry."

Thomas's jaw tightened. His pair of irises eyes showed anger that could no longer be held back. "How dare you!" Thomas roughly pulled Adeline's hand away. He was about to slap his daughter, but Linda, his wife, immediately restrained Thomas's arm.

"Violence won't solve problems, Thomas!" Linda exclaimed with tears streaming down her cheeks.

Adeline cried in front of her parents. She knew she had made a big mistake. "Dad ... Mom ... I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Linda looked softly at her daughter, who apologized. She was about to approach her daughter, but Thomas roughly pulled Linda's arm, making the middle-aged woman unable to approach her daughter.

"Answer me, Adeline! Who's the father of your baby!" Thomas cried, raising his voice.

"I-I'm drunk, Dad. I don't know that man. Please, Dad. I'm sorry." Adeline said softly. She didn't want to mention Hunter's name in front of her father. Adeline had decided to forget that name forever.

Thomas's pair of irises eyes grew sharper. His anger seemed to want to blow up the apartment. "Drunk? How could you sleep with a stranger, huh? Since when did you become a bitch, Adeline!" he boomed loudly.

Adeline sobbed even more at her father's harsh words. She didn't fight back. She knew she was at guilty. "I'm sorry, Dad. Really, I'm sorry."

"Abort that baby! I don't care who's the father of the baby in your womb!" Thomas exclaimed with an increasingly glaring gaze at his daughter.

Adeline's face paled. Her tears did not stop flowing. She shook her head firmly. "No, Dad. I can't kill my baby," she said with a sob. Adeline looked up at her father with a pleading look.

"I said abort your pregnancy, Adeline!" Thomas snapped loudly.

"Thomas, don't be like this. The baby in Adeline's womb is innocent," Linda exclaimed with tears in her eyes, staring at her husband's pleas.

Thomas squeezed her hair roughly. His face looked so frustrated. The middle-aged man clenched his fists tightly. Closing his eyes eased the emotions that were bottled up inside him.

"Fine, if you want to keep your pregnancy then you have to do as I say!" Thomas stared intently at Adeline. A growl of anger was visible.

"Wh-What, Dad? What do I have to do?" Adeline asked softly.

"Marry the man I choose for you," Thomas said with emphasis.

Adeline's tears flowed even harder at Thomas's request. The woman stepped back. She shook her head firmly. "No! I don't want to marry anyone! I can raise this child on my own!"

Thomas stared at Adeline intently. His anger was further fueled when Adeline refused his orders. "If you refuse, then I'll make sure you lose everything. The fortune your mother and I gave you will be gone! You raise that child alone without anyone's help!"

"Fine, Dad. I won't use a dime of your money or Mom's money. I'm going to leave all the things I got from you guys. I'm sorry that I embarrassed you," Adeline said with a fragile smile.

She immediately ran away from her parents. Linda was about to chase Adeline, but Thomas roughly pulled Linda's hand, restraining his wife from chasing their daughter.
