Chapter 7 I know how to get up!

Adeline stared at her reflection in the mirror. Seeing herself already neat and fresh. A red spaghetti strap dress with a floral pattern was beautifully wrapped around her body. Adeline's face should look bright but not in reality. Adeline's face looked a little grim.

Today Adeline had to visit Hunter's company building. Today the construction of Hunter's office had begun. Even Adeline had asked her team to start organizing everything. However, Adeline still had to provide supervision. Because Adeline started her business from the bottom. Adeline was not a boss who left all the work to her subordinates.

"Mommy's handsome boy." Adeline knelt down, aligning her face to Olivier. "What's wrong, baby?" she asked softly and with a mother's love.

"Mommy ... Mommy wants to work, huh?" Olivier asked innocently.

Adeline nodded her head. "Yes, baby. I want to work. When I get home, I'll stop by a Japanese restaurant. Would Olivier like some sushi? If you want, I'll buy Olivier sushi."

Olivier smiled. "I want, Mommy. I want sushi."

"Okay, I'll buy you sushi." Adeline cupped both of Olivier's cheeks, then gave him a peck on the round cheek. "Now I have to go. I promise I won't be late home today."

"Really, Mommy?" Olivier tilted his head, looking at Adeline with eyes that sparkled with happiness.

Adeline nodded her head. "Yes, baby. I won't be late."

Olivier smiled. "Okay, Mommy. I'm waiting."

Adeline smiled warmly. Then she asked Olivier's nanny to take her little son. Yes, right when Olivier's nanny had taken Olivier, Adeline immediately stepped out of her penthouse.

"Good morning, Miss Adeline." Mary greeted Adeline, who had just arrived at the office building owned by Bennett & Bennett Company.

"Morning ... is there a problem?" Adeline asked as she looked at Mary.

"No, ma'am. Everything is going well. Oh, yes, ma'am. There will be a cafe for the employees on the fifth and tenth floors, ma'am. I just got the information earlier," Mary informed her.

Adeline nodded her head. "Alright, we're going inside now. I want to see our workers start their work."

Mary lowered her head to acknowledge Adeline. Then, she followed Adeline into the building. Each floor of the skyscraper had already begun work on designing the layout according to Hunter's wishes.

When they arrived at the fiftieth floor, Adeline looked at the workers who were busy. Adeline seemed to be observing the materials chosen. Starting from the type of wood, lamps, and displays. Lastly, Adeline clearly remembered that Hunter had asked her to place a nature painting on the wall as a display.

"Mary ... don't forget that wallpaper will be the dark gray," Adeline reminded Mary.

Mary nodded her head. "Yes, ma'am."

"I don't want dark gray wallpaper. Change the wallpaper color to dark brown." A baritone voice from behind made Adeline and Mary turn their eyes to the source of the voice. And instantly, Adeline's face changed to see a man in a navy-colored suit approaching them.

Adeline seemed to exhale harshly at the sight of the man who was familiar to her eyes. Tall, well-built body. Face so handsome. Firm jaw. Sturdy nose. Neat and well-groomed sideburns. To Adeline, the man in front of her was a demon hidden behind the face of a god.

"Mr. Hunter." Mary greeted Hunter politely.

Hunter didn't say anything. The man just moved his head to ask his assistant and Mary to leave, leaving him alone with Adeline. Bihan and Mary also excused themselves from Hunter and Adeline's presence.

"Earlier you chose a dark gray wallpaper, Mr. Bennett. I still remember the design you chose was shades of gray," Adeline said, looking at Hunter coldly.

"I want to replace it with dark brown. It seems more lively if the dark brown shades match the wood color I chose," Hunter replied coldly and with a hint of arrogance.

Adeline chuckled. "You can't make substitutions like that, Mr. Bennett. I have all the materials ready."

Hunter smiled mysteriously. Then the man stepped closer to Adeline. Erasing the distance between them, he said, "You must have heard that the customer is king, right? So, I don't need to answer that."

Adeline cursed inwardly. Releasing the annoyance within her. For a moment, Adeline tried to control herself so that her emotions would not be provoked by the damn man in front of her.

"Alright, I'll change the wallpaper you want but next time I hope you don't change it again. Because if the wallpaper is already installed and you change it, there will be an additional charge." Adeline said in a cold and affirmative tone.

Hunter shrugged his shoulders indifferently. "Well, money is not a problem for me. As long as the design you provide makes me satisfied then whatever the price is I will pay. I think you know that very well, Miss Adeline."

Adeline smiled sarcastically at Hunter's words. The woman didn't mince words.

The next second, Adeline turned her body around and was about to leave Hunter. But suddenly, Adeline's heels stepped on the uneven floor. Adeline's body staggered, almost falling. And Hunter, who was behind Adeline, easily caught the woman's body.

"You can be angry but watch your step," Hunter whispered in a tone that pierced Adeline's sense of hearing.

Adeline adjusted her stance. She moved her body away from Hunter. For her, Hunter was a virus to be avoided. "Thank you for helping me but next time you should let me fall. Because isn't that your favorite thing to do? Make me fall? Take it easy, even if I fall, I know how to get up."

Adeline's sharp words instantly made Hunter silent.

Even now, Adeline stepped away, leaving Hunter, who stayed where he was. Again. Adeline succeeded in making Hunter silent. And Adeline's sharp words seemed to have many meanings that were difficult to explain.
