Chapter 6 The weak woman had transformed into a wild tigress!

"Mr. Hunter." The secretary greeted Hunter politely, bowing his head as he stepped out of the elevator.

"Have you done the report I asked you to prepare?" Hunter's voice was cold, with an expressionless look on his face.

"Yes, sir. I have done all the reports you requested. I have also placed the report on your desk, sir," the secretary informed. "Hm... Sir, Miss Hailey has been waiting for you in your office since an hour ago. Earlier I asked Miss Hailey to go home but she did not want to, sir. Miss Hailey wants to wait until you come." The secretary continued.

Hunter let out a rough breath. He had not expected Hailey, his fiancée, to come to New York. He had previously asked Hailey to wait for him to return home.

Without saying a word, Hunter walked straight into his office. Even the secretary bowed his head when Hunter had left him.

"Honey?" Hailey threw her body into Hunter's. She hugged her fiancé tightly. "I missed you. I couldn't stop myself from following you here."

"Hailey, didn't I tell you that I won't be in New York for long?" Hunter said coldly and emphasized as he did not reply or reject Hailey's embrace. He still let Hailey hug his body.

Hailey raised her head, looking at Hunter. "Yes, I'm sorry, honey. I missed you too much so I decided to follow you to New York."

Hunter chuckled softly. "Now you'd better go to my apartment. I still have some work to do."

"Hunter... don't you want to discuss our marriage? We've put off our wedding for too long, Hunter. Five years. That's not a long time. You are even 34 years old now. Your parents are also healthy. So, what are you waiting for?" said Hailey with a whimper to Hunter.

Hunter and Hailey's marriage had to be postponed. Five years ago, Hunter's parents suffered a plane crash. The plane carrying his parents crashed into the forest. At that time, Hunter focused on finding the whereabouts of his parents' plane. He had faith that his parents were still alive.

And sure enough, Hunter's parents survived, except that they were both seriously injured. At that time, he asked Hailey to wait until his parents recovered. It took about two years for his parents to recover fully. However, after the accident that befell his parents, Hunter took care of his family's company. That's why he and Hailey haven't gotten married yet.

"I'm still busy, Hailey. You know I just opened my law firm in New York," Hunter replied coldly.

Hailey pursed her lips in annoyance. She hugged Hunter's arm as she said, "I can't delay anymore, Hunter. It's been too long. We have to get married this year. I'll have my assistant prepare our wedding."

Hunter exhaled heavily as he closed his tired eyes. "Fine... our wedding will be held this year. I'll ask my assistant to take care of what you need."

Hailey had a triumphant smile on her face. The woman threw her arms around Hunter's neck and then gave him a kiss on the lips. "Thank you, honey. Anyway, I want to go to the salon. I broke my nail earlier."

"Yes," Hunter replied flatly as he gave Hailey a brief peck on the lips.

Now Hailey stepped out of Hunter's office; she looked so happy. However, just as Hailey had left Hunter's office, Bihan - Hunter's personal secretary, entered Hunter's office.

"Mr. Hunter," Bihan greeted politely.

"What's wrong?" Hunter sat down in his oversized chair. Then, he took the wine in front of him and sipped slowly.

"I have something to tell you, sir," Bihan replied in a serious tone.

Hunter looked at Bihan with an intense gaze. "Tell me what you want to tell me?"

"I just got news from one of the employees who is arranging the rental of interior design services for one of your new company branches, sir. Watson Interior Design is apparently owned by Miss Adeline. We have also taken care of the payment of about fifty percent, sir." Bihan said informatively.

Hunter was silent for a moment when he heard Bihan's words. He was quite surprised to hear that the owner of Watson Design Interior was Adeline. All Hunter knew was that Adeline headed one of the branch companies of the woman's family.

"Arrange my meeting with them," Hunter said coldly with a look in his eyes that was hard to read.

"Yes, sir. I will arrange your meeting with Watson Interior Design tomorrow. They will show you some design samples," Bihan replied politely.

Hunter moved the sloki glass in his hand. His gaze stared straight ahead. Instantly a cruel grin was painted on Hunter's face. Hunter remembered the shadows of Adeline's nature from a weak cat to a wild tigress. Well, that was a bit interesting.

"Tell Watson Design Interior to give me the best design example. I paid a lot of money so I should get the best. Working with me, they must ensure quality. Their good name is at stake if I am not satisfied with their design," Hunter said with a smirk on his face.

"Yes, sir. I will warn Watson Design Interior," Bihan replied obediently.

"Get out, finish your work," Hunter snapped coldly.

Bihan bowed his head, then excused himself from Hunter's office.

He leaned his back on the chair. He took a sip of the wine in his hand. His sturdy fingers tapped lightly on the table. Hunter had no idea that Adeline lived in New York. It had been a long time since he had seen her.

Hunter had come to New York because he wanted to open several branches of his law firm. And unexpectedly, Hunter met the woman he had always avoided. Only now, it was different.

Hunter used to avoid a woman who always chased him. A woman who was exactly like a weak cat. However, now that the weak woman had transformed into a wild tigress.

An Italian restaurant in New York was the place where Hunter and Adeline met. It had been about five minutes since Hunter sat down at the restaurant. The man came first, then Adeline. However, of course, he only gave a limit of no more than ten minutes. If in the next five minutes Adeline did not come, Hunter would cancel the meeting and not use the woman's interior design services.

He still tolerated people who came late when meeting him. But Hunter's tolerance was no more than ten minutes. Because for Hunter, ten minutes of tolerance was a lot. There were many people out there who didn't give any tolerance at all.

"Sir, here's your coffee." The waiter delivered the coffee Hunter had ordered.

He nodded briefly. Then the waiter quickly excused himself. In the next second, he took the cup containing the coffee and sipped it slowly.

After about ten minutes of waiting in the restaurant, Hunter's gaze was drawn to a woman wearing a blue dress with a bodice. The dress that fit her body looked sexy. Her blonde hair fell down her bare back. Her pair of irises eyes instantly made Hunter recognize the woman.

"Sorry I'm late." Adeline sat down in front of Hunter and handed him the iPad she had prepared. "I don't like small talk. On my iPad, there are many examples of office-specific designs. You can choose whatever you like."

Hunter's eyebrows shot up as Adeline thrust the iPad at him. "Is this how the owner of Watson Design Interior meets with his clients. I guess you must be learning how to be ethical, right?"

Adeline smiled. "Sorry, Mr. Bennett. I don't like small talk. Please choose the design you want immediately. My team will take care of everything."

Hunter did not reply to Adeline's words; the man picked up the iPad in front of him - and began to select the design shown by Adeline. Hunter didn't seem to make a comment. If the man was silent, it meant that he quite liked the design shown.

"I chose this." Hunter handed the iPad back to Adeline.

Adeline nodded briefly. "Alright, my team will finish the design you asked for soon. I think we're good to go here. If you have any further questions, you can contact my assistant." Adeline quickly rose to her feet, leaving Hunter alone.

Hunter had a faint smile on his face. The man also rose to his feet as Adeline exited. He put a few USD on the table to pay for his order. Then he stepped out of the restaurant.

But ... when Hunter had just walked out of the restaurant, his gaze was drawn to Adeline, who seemed to be swearing. The next second, Hunter's gaze was drawn to Adeline's car tire. Apparently, the woman's car had a flat tire. Hunter stepped closer to Adeline.

"I guess you can take a taxi without having to be escorted by someone else, right?" Hunter's heavy voice made Adeline immediately look away. Adeline's pair of irises eyes looked coldly at Hunter, who was now in front of her.

Adeline was still silent when she got a question from Hunter. Until then, she slowly painted a sardonic smile on her face. The woman drew closer to Hunter. Reduced the distance between them. "I've always been too used to doing things on my own. Just because my car has a flat tire, it's not a big deal to me." Adeline immediately took out her cell phone and contacted a taxi to come to pick her up.

"Sorry... I've to go." Adeline said when she called the taxi. Now she turned around-stepping away from Hunter, who was still in place.

It seemed that Hunter did not stop staring at Adeline's back, which looked so delicious. Hunter did not move an inch even when the taxi came to pick her up. The man still stood in the same place. His mind imagined Adeline's words. He barely recognized the weak woman he used to know.
