Chapter 8 Perfect Punishment

Shelly was Garry's friend since they were kids. At that time, he had promised to be her knight in shining armor for the rest of his life.

And in his heart, Shelly was his princess forever.

Shelly knew nothing about this. However, he held her dear to his heart. She was the most important non-family member to Garry.

At this moment, the pretty face of an eighteen-year-old girl appeared in Garry's mind. Her smile was like nothing he had ever seen.

Shelly had smooth and fair skin. Her silky hair fell across her shoulders. She was just like a delicate rose. One could even mistake her for an angel on earth.

"Shelly, it's me," Garry finally said softly.

Shelly's voice turned cold in an instant.

"Garry? Why the hell did you borrow money from bad people? You didn't even borrow a little amount. What did you need three hundred thousand dollars for?

Anyway, let this be the first and the last time you would do such a thing. I won't help you if you get into trouble with loan sharks again. I'll turn a blind eye even if they beat you to death. And I'm not kidding, Garry!"

Although Shelly's words were harsh, Garry knew that she only scolded him because she cared about him. He was happy to know that she had his well-being at heart.

Smiling sheepishly, he said calmly, "You have misunderstood everything. A thief snatched my phone from me and sent the message to dupe you. It was all a lie.

Fortunately, I caught up with him and got it back. He would have taken your money if I didn't act on time."

Garry knew that Shelly would be so worried if she found out that he was kidnapped, so he cooked up a believable story.

"Humph! You couldn't even keep your phone well. Don't you know that bad guys are everywhere on the streets now? Tut-tut! You are so careless," Shelly said sarcastically, but her tone softened.

It was obvious that she was relieved to learn that he was safe.

"I'm sorry for making you worried about me," Garry apologized sincerely.

"Who said I was worried about you? I wasn't! I only sent the money because it's the normal thing to do for a friend. Be careful from now on. Bye!"

Shelly hung up the phone, not sparing him a chance to speak.

Garry couldn't help laughing at the thought of Shelly blushing wherever she was. He quickly transferred the money back to her.

As soon as he raised his head, his eyes met with his father's playful expression.

Rafael said with a smile, "That girl is not bad. Make sure you hold her close. I think she would make a perfect wife for you."

Garry blushed immediately. "Dad, how did marriage come into the equation? Shelly and I are just friends."

Judging by his father's words, Garry suspected that he had seen how Shelly's number was saved on his phone.

Rafael smiled and dropped the topic.

"Stone, follow Garry and protect him from now on," Rafael ordered.

The hefty middle-aged man nodded slightly.

"Dad, I'm still a student. School is not a battlefield. I don't need a bodyguard. It might raise eyebrows."

Garry turned down his father's offer with a frown.

"So what if you are still a student? Nowhere is safe. You are my son, so you must be protected!"

Rafael firmly stood by his decision.

"The butler will call you later. Be good, son."

He hugged Garry and left with his armed men, leaving Stone behind.

Garry had no choice but to ask Stone to drive him back to school.

On the way, Garry received a call from the butler.

"Hello, Mr. Smith. I'm the butler of the Smith family, Allard Hewitt," the man on the other end of the line said respectfully. "What would you like to do to the culprit, Larson?"

Garry pondered for a while.

His first thought was to destroy Larson, but he reasoned that it wasn't enough.

A rich kid who always trampled on the poor deserved more than just destruction.

Garry decided to make him taste poverty. It was the perfect punishment in his books.

"Make his family go bankrupt!" he ordered ruthlessly.

"Got it. I'll do that right away," Allard uttered assuredly and hung up the phone.

Garry went back to his dorm room and pushed the door in a fit of pique.

A young man looked at him in astonishment. He had designer clothes and a pair of sneakers on. His hair was slicked back.

This flashy guy was none other than Larson.

"Why are you back?" Larson asked in disbelief.

He knew about Garry's family. He believed that his poor roommate couldn't afford three hundred thousand dollars.

Although he knew that Garry couldn't get such a whopping amount, he sent the gangsters after Garry so they would cripple him during the torture.

Last time, Garry not only saw through his scheme, but also laid hands on him. Larson wanted to have his revenge by making the rest of Garry's life a living hell. What he didn't expect was to see Garry back here with only minor injuries. He was utterly surprised.

"Why am I back?" Garry roared at him ferociously.

He then strode to him.

"Take that!" He gave Larson a hard kick in his face.
