Chapter 3 Of Events

The kidnappers were gobsmacked at the sight of the men trooping in.

Never had they been in such a situation before.

The men were armed to the teeth like soldiers. They aimed several heavy-duty guns at the gangsters. Their eyes were as cold as ice.

The situation was like a scene from a movie. The armed men were like snipers in a special force who were deployed to take down terrorists.

"What's going on here? Who are you guys?"

Kent almost peed in his pants as he looked at the ferocious men.

The gangsters were blocking Garry's sight, so he had no idea what was going on. He only noticed that his abductors were staring at the gate in fear.

"Thank goodness! It seems this is my chance to escape," Garry mumbled to himself.

The next second, he mustered up the strength and charged toward Kent like a raging bull.

He punched Kent's soft belly with his hard fist.

"Ah!"

Kent cried out in pain, holding his stomach.

Once Kent fell to the ground, Garry grabbed the machete and placed it on the anguishing man's neck.

"Get out of my way. Let me go now! Otherwise, I'll chop off his head even though I'd die in the end!" Garry shouted at the top of his lungs.

This was a strange turn of events.

Kent's men were shocked to see their boss on the brink of death. They all looked at each other in confusion.

All of a sudden, the well-armed men rushed forward and took a hold of the kidnappers.

It was Garry's turn to be shocked. He staggered back in fear.

The sight of the strong men who had terrifying guns scared him out of his wits. He swallowed hard.

Who were these vicious men? What was happening?

Did he get caught up in a rival gang clash?

Before Garry could get his thoughts straight, the crowd suddenly parted in half. A middle-aged man in a suit, who had an imposing aura, walked in.

"Boss!"

The armed men saluted in unison.

Garry's jaw dropped once the middle-aged man's face came into view.

"Dad?"

Confusion filled his head more than ever before. He couldn't figure out why his meek father was here in the midst of these ferocious men.

What was even more surprising was that they just addressed him as their boss. He seemed to be a big shot, not the poor man Garry knew!

Rafael Smith's heart broke when he saw his son looking so disheveled. He said, "I'm sorry I arrived late, son."

"Dad, what's going on?" Garry stared at his father in utter confusion. "Why are you here? Why did these men address you as their boss? Aren't you just a factory worker? What am I missing, Dad?"

After hearing his son's series of questions, Rafael cleared his throat embarrassedly and replied, "Actually, I wanted to hide this side of me for another two years. But it seems I have to come clean in advance."
