Chapter 5 Payback Time

Kent was nothing like the arrogant gang leader who tortured his captive a few minutes ago. He was trembling uncontrollably now. Tears streamed down his red cheeks. He looked like a vanquished loser who was at the mercy of his stronger rival.

Kent badly wished he could turn back the hands of time now. If he hadn't been pushed to kidnap Garry, he wouldn't be in this mess.

"It's Larson Foster!" he shouted hysterically.

"Larson asked us to kidnap you. He said that you owe him two hundred and fifty thousand dollars and that you have refused to pay him.

According to him, you were just a poor boy who had no power or connections. He asked us to get the money out of you by hook or by crook."

It was Larson!

Garry wasn't particularly surprised when he heard that name. This was something Larson was capable of.

Larson was his roommate at the university dormitory. He was a trust-fund baby who felt everyone else was under his feet.

He had always looked down on Garry. In his eyes, Garry was a poor loser who didn't deserve to share a dorm room with him.

Garry didn't like Larson either and never tried to fawn on him.

About a month ago, Larson set a trap for him.

Larson tried to frame Garry for breaking his Rolex watch, so the latter would have to pay the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

Never did it cross his mind that Garry would see through him.

It was the height of all the stunts Larson had pulled. Garry was infuriated, so he beat him up.

It appeared Larson resorted to kidnap in order to have his pound of flesh.

After putting two and two together, Garry narrowed his eyes and queried, "Larson asked you to get two hundred and fifty thousand dollars from me. Why did you ask for three hundred thousand?"

"Ermm... We also wanted to take part of the money," Kent stammered.

"Oh, I see." Garry nodded thoughtfully and added, "Then you deserve what you are about to get."

"What... What do you mean?"

Kent's forehead broke out in a cold sweat. Although he didn't know what Garry meant, he could tell that it wasn't good.

Without saying a word, Garry raised the machete in his hand and aimed it at Kent.

The next second, the machete sank into Kent's arm. Blood gushed out immediately.

"Ah!"

Kent screamed out. The pain swept over his entire body. Blood stained his upper body and pants in the blink of an eye.

"Remember that you threatened to chop off my fingers a while back. How does it feel to be tortured? Are you mad at me?"

Garry interrogated him with a smile, but his eyes were cold and ruthless. It made him even scarier.

The part of Kent's body that was now bleeding was the same spot he had rubbed the machete on Garry's body before.

Garry had always been someone with a clear distinction between kindness and resentment.

He was naturally nice to good people. He always returned people's kindness tenfold. In the same vein, he never let go of anyone who stepped on his toes.

Garry was of the opinion that every action should get the right consequences.

As far as he was concerned, people who forgave easily and repaid evil with good were plain idiots.

"No, I'm not mad at you."

Kent gritted his teeth to hide his true feelings. He then smiled through the pain.

"I deserve it!" he added.

"It's good that you understand."

Garry flashed him a bright smile, but it didn't get to his eyes. His eyes were glittering with murderous intent.

"Now, let's continue," he quipped seriously.

"Eh?" Kent uttered in surprise. He bit his lower lip as he looked at Garry with fear.
