Chapter 6 Jay's Father

Nicole froze in shock and her mind went blank at that moment. It turned out that, the man who had taken her first night and gave her a cute son was Kerr Graham!

She felt the live had played a big joke on her. She finally knew why she felt it was so familar when she first met Kerr. She had not had much contact with Kerr in the past days, and now she scrutinized his sleeping face in the dark. His figure gradually reunited in Nicole's mind with the man from the night seven years ago. Besides that, he and Jay do have extremely similar features.

So, is he really the father of Jay?

'No, nono, I couldn't let him or Jay know.' When Nicole came sober from the shock, she remembered the conversation he had just had with the unknown woman on the phone.

Nicole used to dream of finding the man from seven years ago so that Jay could enjoy a father's love, then the idea had completely vanished from her mind at this moment.

Nicole didn't forget about how cold and ruthless Kerr was when he talked to that woman. From his words, she could tell that this woman should have been with Kerr for some time. He could have even forced that woman to have an abortion without any sympathy, not to mention a person like her who only had an one-night-stand with him. She could not image that if he knew she had secretly kept his son for more than six years!

"If you dare to keep the child secretly, I can't guarantee what the consequences will be," Nicole recalled the last sentence she had heard when Kerr was talking to that woman.

She didn't want to guess what 'a consequence' it would be; also she didn't want her beloved son, Jay, to find out that his father was such a cold-blooded man. Right this moment, there is only one thought in her mind-

'I COULD NEVER LET HIM KNOW AND EVER!'

There was no way she could let him find out about them!

The car ride in silence until they finally stopped outside the Riverside Garden. Just as Nicole was about to get out of the car quietly, Kerr suddenly opened his eyes and spoke softly, "You can get your son first and we will be here waiting for you then send you to your place."

Nicole was startled, but she hastily hid her panic.and replied, "Thank you, Mr. Graham, but my son is too shy and he does not close to strangers. Anyway, my home isn't very far from here. It's already a big favor that you let me hitch a ride."

Since she had already declined, Kerr no longer insisted. He did, however, ask her a question.

"Why don't you let your husband take care of the kid but to ask your friend for help."

Nicole quietly clenched her fists. "I don't have a husband."

Oh, it seems that she's a single mother.' at her answer, somehow, there was an imperceptible joy in Kerr's heart.

Nicole did not hesitate too much. After thanking him again, she walked towards the house. Kerr looked at her back and asked the driver to his own apartment building.

His phone rang again. It's his assistant, "Mr. Graham, the money has been transferred. But, you were right, she's just a money digger and want to use this child to make a fortune. I just made some threats and she spilled everything out. That baby is not yours at all."

The corners of Kerr's mouth curled up to a sneer. "Forget it. This woman is not important. But how about the other woman I asked you to find, still no updates?"

There was a pause on the other end of the line as the assistant felt a tinge of guilt, "Sorry, Mr. Graham. I know what you're mentioning. But that night, someone cut the security wiring on your floor, so you know we failed to take the video. Over the years we have been trying hard to investigate the clues that may be related to this matter-

"So you make me keep waiting for seven years?" Kerr cut up his explainning.

There was a hint of aggressiveness in his tone. "Yes, I have told you before that it doesn't matter if you take it a bit longer to find the woman. You have worked for me for many, many years, and you should know my words longer it would not mean a seven-year of waiting."

The assistant took a deep breath. Just as he was about to say something, Kerr hung up the phone. He leaned back his body against the leather seat again. His eyes darkened and meaningful.

He closed his eyes and thought back to when Nicole had just said goodbye. When he mentioned her son and husband, although she tried to hide her panic, her averted eyes betrayed her.

That woman, what is she hiding for? Kerr had rare to intimate contact with women, he could not figure out what these women were thinking. He only knows that he hate lies and deception.

Meanwhile, in Baron's home in the Riverside Garden, Nicole was sitting on the sofa with a pale face and trembling hands. When she saw the worried and concerned look on Baron's face, she took a deep breath and spoke in a weak voice, "Baron, please, do me a favor."

Now, Baron was the only friend she could rely on.

Baron noticed the unease on Nicole's face, his expression grew serious either, "Yes?"

Nicole glanced at her son, Jay, and tried her best to calm herself down.

"I changed my mind. Please help me deal with my past information. I don't want others to know about my past. I'm so scared. I don't want one day someone would take Jay away from me."

She was a bit hesitant about whether to tell Baron that Kerr was probably Jay's father.

She knew very little about how powerful and influency a person like Kerr would be, but she had a rough guess. She didn't want to bring any trouble to Baron in the future.

"Okay, I know what to do. Don't worry." Likewise, Baron, also an elite member of the top class, has his own way.

Baron knew how much Nicole cared about Jay, and that's why he chose not to tell her his true feelings for her. He can accept that Nicole is a single mother and has a six-year-old son, but the Morenos, as a large family that had been among the upper class in Alephis City for nearly a century, they would never accept her. He needed some time.

Nicole gave him an old-friend smile and walked out of the Riverside Garden with Jay on her shoulder and the little one was still sleeping. She didn't notice that in a conner, the black Porsche which had sent her here had just returned back. The place it parked got a short distance away from her, hidden in the darkness.

In the car, Kerr was looking at the small guy sleeping sounded in the embrace of his mother.

Kerr called his assistant again.

"Investigate the new arrival, Nicole Morgan. I want all her information."
