Chapter 5 His Child

"What are you thinking about?" the man's low, mellow voice sudden sounded, making Nicole startled and also pulling her thoughts back.

Nicole, who had just returned to her senses, saw that Kerr was still indifferent and unemotional. She gave him a light smile, "I was thinking that when I first met you Mr. Graham, I didn't think you had have a good first impression towards me. But just an easy case, it could make you change your mind. I'm wondering how much of a raise I should ask you for if I get a couple of more deals like this."

When she spoke, her voice was soft and her eyes brightened. With her body so close to his, Kerr felt himself templed up.

However, his voice was still as cold as before when he replied, "I have never been stingy with meritorious staff and neither badly treat people with good ability.."

Soon, the song came to an end. Just as Nicole was about to make a casual response, Kerr felt a vibration from his pocket. He took out his mobile phone, frowned at the screen, and walked out of the hall leaving none words.

'He just walked away like that?' Seeing him leave so abruptly, Nicole was confused for a sec. Then she shrugged and breathed a sigh of relief, 'Being with Kerr it really feels like being tortured by a cold-blooded devil. OH, too much pressure to get along with him...'

It was already nine o'clock in the evening, but the event was still in full swing and it didn't seem like people would start leaving any time soon. Worried about Jay, Nicole also walked out and made a call to Baron.

"When it's half-past nine, remember to give him a glass of hot milk and let him sleep," She instructed Baron uneasily.

"Yes, I know. This is not the first time that I take care of him! He's still reading my books now." Barron had a gentle laugh that his voice sounded rather soft over the phone.

Then, he continued, "It's already late. How about I pick you up, and drop you and Jay home?"

Nicole politely refused his offer without hesitation and hung up after that. They're very close friends, but she tried to bring him as less as trouble.

A cold breeze blew past, making her shiver. She decided to go back to the warm hall as soon as possible.

All of a sudden, she heard Kerr's voice.

"My child?" He sneered and his voice sounded cold and frightening. "Do you think you can threaten me with your pregnancy?" He questioned the person on the other end of the phone.

'Didn't he leave?' In curious, Nicole followed the voice, only to see Kerr is standing under a French sycamore tree holding the phone.

She couldn't see his expression in the dark, but the disdain in his voice was clear.

From Kerr's words, Nicole seemed to find out some big news. It should be a woman on the other side of the phone, and pregnant with his child. But this woman should not be his wife!

Hell! It turns out that the big boss who looks like a decent man is actualy a scumbag! It seems he got a baby with a woman and doesn't want to take the responsibility for it at all?'

As if to help Nicole confirm her suspicions, Kerr continued, "So, don't ever dream of getting anything else from me. My assistant will transfer ten million dollars to your account in five minutes. Have an abortion, you know what to do with the rest. And, I'm warning you, don't try to do anything stupid."

Even with the night breeze, his voice rang loud and clear.

"If you dare to keep the child secretly, I can't guarantee what the consequences will be," he finally addressed.

Damn it. Just as I thought, this man is right such a crule killer!' Nicole was so shocked and frozen in place, 'It rumours that people from top wealthy families will not allow their heirs to stray. They will go to many extreme lengths. OMG, it's true!'

Nicole couldn't help but think of her son, Jay, and she thought, 'If it was lucky enough to meet that man again one day, I hope he's a kind person... He does not have to be responsible for Jay, but at least, please don't be as crule as Kerr...'

Nicole was thinking about jay's father and didn't notice that a tall figure was approaching her.

"Ms. Morgan, why are you here?" Kerr had finished his call and found Nicole.

"It's so hot inside. I came out to get some fresh air," Nicole lied without batting an eye. Kerr glanced at his watch, He looked very natural, as if he didn't care whether Nicole had heard his conversation or not just now.

"It's too late. I'll take you home," he said.

He sounded like there was a firmness in his tone that Nicole couldn't refuse. She could only nodded.

"That way... thank you. Please drive me to Riverside Garden, Mr. Graham."

"Riverside Garden?"

That's a wealthy community villa area, Kerr vaguely remembered that the company had arranged an accommodation for her, and it's not there.

Noticing his confusion, Nicole said casually, "Yes, I need to pick up my son. I had let my son stay at my friend's house before I attend this party."

Kerr nodded. For some reason, he couldn't help thinking, 'She's married? What kind of a man is her husband? Doesn't he come to pick her up?'

The two of them got into the car silently, and they both sat in the back seat. Kerr asked the driver to turn off the lights. Then, he leaned against the seat and closed his eyes to rest.

In the dim lights from the windows, Nicole quietly, for the first time seriously measured up Kerr.

Suddenly, a bold and crazy thought bumped into her mind-Weren't his figure and his demeanor exactly the same as the man from seven years ago!?

She remembered an important detail. There had been a very small black mole on that man's earlobe!

Nicole felt her throat dry and tight due to the nervousness. Gingerly., she opened the car curtains slightly wider.

Then, she took a deep breath and fixed her eyes on Kerr's handsome side face. He looks a little more benevolent when his eyes are closed. His features were relaxed, a high nose with beautiful lines, long and curly eyelashes, plump lips... He's really good-looking. And...there was a small black mole on his earlobe!
