Chapter 6 Not A Competitor

"Mr. Deng, if you sign the contract with Jiang Group, I promise you, our company will perform it according to your requirements!" Carolyn said earnestly.

"It's impossible! I'm sorry!" Carlos refused.

"Ahem!" At this moment, Benson cleared his throat to get their attention.

Only then did Carlos notice Benson behind Carolyn.

"Sir... Mmm..." Carlos wasn't expecting Benson to visit Seaside Real Estate. He was so excited and shocked that he didn't know what to say.

Benson made a gesture to zip up his mouth.

Carlos immediately caught what he meant. But he was in great shock that he was trembling all over.

"Mr. Deng, what's wrong?" Carolyn didn't understand what had happened.

"Mr. Deng, Miss Jiang and I are here for the project. How about we go to your office?" Benson said with a raised eyebrow.

Carlos immediately understood. "Sure. Let's go to my office now."

When she saw that events had turned around in her favor, Carolyn was overjoyed.

Although Universe Company was still a strong rival, she now had an opportunity.

They all entered the private elevator. Carlos kept his head lowered while Carolyn concerned herself with what she would say.

Benson stood behind Carolyn, staring at her.

He couldn't understand why he suddenly felt thirsty watching her biting her lips.

At the office, Carlos hurriedly served tea.

Carolyn took the cup from Carlos. 'He is so polite. He certainly is not as hard to deal with as they said.'

"Mr. Deng, here are materials of Jiang Group. Please, have a look." Carolyn wanted to seize the opportunity before Benson began speaking.

Benson had already seen through Carolyn's action. He lazily lounged on the sofa and looked at her with deep eyes.

Carlos carefully glanced through the document.

"From what I see here, Jiang Group doesn't quite meet the requirements of Seaside Real Estate-"

"Ahem! Ahem!" Benson coughed in a way to attract Carlos' attention, interrupting him.

Carlos was taken aback. He couldn't fathom what the cough meant.

"Mr. Deng, please have a look at this document." Carolyn would not give up easily. She gave a second document to Carlos.

This time, Carlos was not in the mood to read her document.

He secretly looked at Benson, trying to guess what he was thinking. 'He sets high standards for any company that works with him. But he just coughed several times when I refused Miss Jiang.

Sweat was now forming on Carlos' forehead. He looked at Benson with a smile and said, "Sir-"

"Mr. Deng, I would be pleased if you call me Mr. Gu," Benson said, interrupting Carlos.

Carolyn was surprised. 'The surname of the president of MC Group is also Gu.

Maybe this man and the president are relatives.

If that is the case, I'm now in trouble. Possibly, Carlos will be partial to him.'

Carlos was stunned for a while. He looked at Benson and then at Carolyn. The idea forming in his mind was a shocking one.

He had been working for Benson for at least five years, and the latter never been interested in any woman.

Her fate now depended on his opinion. Holding back her hostility, she looked at Benson with watery eyes. She wondered if he would help her.

When he saw the pitiful look on Carolyn's face, Benson smiled, "Jiang Group is indeed unqualified. But if they guarantee the quality of the building materials, you can work with them. We, Universe Company, will be supervising the quality of the building materials provided by Jiang Group."

"Does Universe Company supervise building materials?" Carolyn asked. This was a piece of surprising information.

"Yes. Seaside Real Estate invited us to be their quality supervision company. Do you have any problem?" Benson raised his eyebrow at Carolyn.

"No... Not at all."

'So, he is not a competitor, but a supervisor!' Carolyn thought.

When he heard what Benson said, Carlos sighed with relief. He reminded himself that he couldn't afford to offend the young woman sitting in front of him.

"Well, Miss Jiang. It's settled then. Let's sign the contract," Carlos said.

'What! I can't believe this. Sign the contract?

Is it that simple?'

Carolyn couldn't believe her ears.

"Miss Jiang? Are you with us?" Carlos asked.

"Oh, it's nothing. I see! All right! Let's do it! Let's sign it!" Her happiness had come too suddenly. It was like in a dream.

She had Benson to thank for this miracle. She looked up at him with gratitude.

Carlos sent someone to bring the contract. He signed it quickly.

"A supplier of all building materials!" Carolyn was shocked once again.

Yesterday, her grandmother said that she must sign the contract to make Jiang Group a supplier of two kinds of building materials.

But now, Jiang Group was being given everything. It was too much for her.

'Oh my God! I can't believe this! Am I that capable of handling this? Why have I never realized it?' she thought.

"Okay. Do you have any questions?" Carlos asked respectfully.

"No! None! I don't have any. Thank you, Mr. Deng." Carolyn signed the contract with trembling hand.

She was extremely excited when she held the contract. She imagined the surprise on the faces of her family when they saw it tomorrow. She was so proud of herself.

"Mr. Deng, are you free at noon? I want to invite you to lunch." Carolyn's voice was full of so much gratitude as she made the request.

"Ahem! Ahem!" Benson felt uncomfortable that she had ignored him.

Carolyn then turned to Benson with gratitude and asked him, "Mr. Gu, would you like to be with us?"

"Okay! With all pleasure!" Benson said, smiling.

"Well, Miss Jiang. I'm sorry I have to refuse. I have something else to do. You and Mr. Gu can enjoy yourselves." Carlos read the situation well. How dare he have dinner with Carolyn?

Carolyn was a little disappointed that Carlos had refused her invitation. She wanted to ingratiate herself with Carlos because she would need his cooperation in the future.

"Mr. Gu, I'm sure we have something else to do!" Luis, who had been in the background silently, reminded him.

Benson raised his eyebrows and looked at Luis. "Your vacation next month is cancelled. It seems that you are quite free."

Luis was stunned

"Goodbye, Mr. Gu. Have a nice meal!" Luis corrected himself immediately.

"Well, you should stay and discuss with Mr. Deng about the follow-up of the contract, Luis."

After saying that, Benson stood up. He took Carolyn by the hand, and they walked out of the manager's office.

"Let go of me!" Carolyn was inexplicably nervous. She had to wrench herself from his grasp.

She was grateful to him, but that didn't mean he could hold her hand.

"We have been more intimate than this. Why are you nervous?" She was astonished that Benson brazenly mentioned what had happened that night.
