Chapter 2 Engagement Cancelled

At the villa of the Jiang family

Carolyn alighted from the bus and walked to the villa. She was so tired and felt dizzy. This villa belonged to her mother. It was the warmest and most comfortable place in the world when her mother was alive.

After her mother's death, the villa became a cold, unbearable cage.

Her stepmother had made her move to a small bedroom on the first floor while she lived in the most luxurious bedroom on the second floor.

When Carolyn entered the villa, she saw Reyna Jiang, her half-sister, eating sunflower seeds in a rattan chair in the yard.

Reyna was a bit surprised to find Carolyn safe and sound. She was shocked that Carolyn had a rosy complexion and lustrous skin.

'That's impossible! How could those five strong men be tender to her? I don't get it!'

"Gee! Carolyn, are you finally willing to come back home? Did you fool around with some men last night? You look taken!" Reyna said, trying to sound provocative.

"I was with Cohen last night. Sorry to let you down," Carolyn said. She smoothed her hair with her hand, trying to appear unflustered.

Cohen Zhao was Carolyn's fiance, and the Zhao family was considered second-rate in D City. Carolyn's father always wanted to be a member of the upper class, so he always tried to curry favor with people from that segment of society.

Carolyn was engaged to Cohen, but that was against her will. She didn't fancy him. However, it was challenging to disobey her father, so she agreed to the arrangement.

No one expected that Reyna would have a crush on Cohen. Carolyn believed that she was likely the one who drugged her last night.

"What? That's impossible! Cohen will never fall in love with you. Not in this life! You're a bitch!" Reyna shouted. She looked angry.

Last night, she received photos of Carolyn surrounded by five strong men. She did not know what happened after that.

'Did Cohen save Carolyn, and they later spent the night together?' Reyna thought, confused.

"Reyna, wake up. Cohen is just toying with your emotions," Carolyn sneered.

Reyna was infuriated. Jumping up with rage, she growled, "You're talking nonsense, Carolyn. Nonsense! You were fooling around with five men last night! And you were not with Cohen at all! I won't believe your nonsense!"

When Carolyn heard what Reyna said, her face became dark.

"It really was you!"

All along, Carolyn had suspected that Reyna was the one behind what happened last night. And now she was sure of it.

"Carolyn! How dare you?" When she realized she had fallen for Carolyn's trap, Reyna became even more infuriated.

"You're a bitch! You set me up. How dare you?" Carolyn roared at her, the veins on her neck showing.

"So what if I did? There is nothing you can do about it. I'm Dad's favorite girl. I've always been able to get whatever pleases me since I was a child. How dare you steal Cohen from me? You bitch! You deserved it!" Reyna replied, her tone arrogant and overbearing.

A chill ran through Carolyn. With fire in her eyes, she raised her hand before Reyna.

And with all her strength, she gave her a hard slap.

"Carolyn! You're so bold! How dare you! You dared to hit me?"

Reyna fell to the ground when Carolyn gave her the hard slap.

"So what if I beat you?" Carolyn rode on Reyna's body and kept hitting her with both hands.

"Dad! Mom! Help! Help! Come and help me!

Dad! Carolyn wants to kill me!"

Reyna was scared when Carolyn kept hitting her. She thought Carolyn was about to beat her to death.

Because of the protection of her parents, Reyna took the dare to bully Carolyn without any regard for her feelings.

When they heard Reyna's call for help, Harold Jiang and Daisy Wang rushed out. They saw Carolyn riding on Reyna and beating her, so they went to stop her.

"Carolyn, you bitch! Who gave you the guts? How dare you hit my daughter? I won't spare you!" Daisy roared fiercely. She then helped Reyna to stand up.

"Dad, look at my face! She disfigured it! If she ruins my face, how can I marry into a wealthy family?" Reyna said. She was crying as she spoke.

Harold looked at Reyna with eyes full of care, then he turned to Carolyn with an angry look. "How could you be so cruel to your sister?"

"Dad, I think you should first ask your dear daughter what she did before you question me!" Carolyn said in a cold voice.

Harold looked Reyna straight in the eye and asked her, "What did you do to her?"

Reyna became cowardly instantly. She went to hide behind her mother, Daisy. "I hired several men to make love to her. But she's okay now, isn't she? She hit me! How could she? Dad, you need to punish her."

"What? How dare you do that?" Harold glared at Reyna as his face turned red.

Her father's reaction made Carolyn happy. At least, for once in her life, someone showed concern for her.

When Daisy saw that Harold was angry, she rushed to Reyna's defense.

"Carolyn is fine. She is still alive, and nothing happened to her. But look at my daughter's face. See how swollen it is because of the blows and slaps from Carolyn."

To Daisy, Carolyn was a bitch. She would not care, even if the men had tortured her to death.

"You're just short-sighted! Carolyn is engaged to Cohen. If he knows that, he will call off the engagement. It's not easy to have a kinship with the Zhao family. Do you want to screw it up?" Harold said feverishly. Now, his anger was even more evident.

When Carolyn heard what Harold said, a chill ran through her, and her hands trembled. She always knew her father did not like her, but she had not expected his indifference to her plight.

He didn't care about her at all. She was just a pawn the Jiang family would use to curry favor for themselves and amass wealth from her marriage.

"Carolyn, you're a shameless woman! What you did might disgrace the Jiang family! You're an ungrateful bitch!" Daisy cursed.

"Dad, Mom, Carolyn was born to be a bitch, and she will always remain one. She is very good at seducing men. Even if I asked those men to pester her, she enjoyed it and did not resist," Reyna said in mockery.

"Of course, why would she resist? Look at how dissolute she looks. She enjoyed those men fucking her. Right, Carolyn, didn't you?" Daisy sneered.

"Tell me, were you deflowered last night?" Harold asked anxiously.

Carolyn just sneered at him. She wanted to ask God why she had such a father. 'He doesn't care about me and my feelings. He isn't even going to punish Reyna for her evil. What a father!'

Reyna had set her up, but they directed the mocking and questioning at her.

Her family was so shameless.

She did not expect this of them.

Just then, Carolyn's phone rang, and she looked at the screen. The caller was Cohen.

Carolyn ignored it, but Reyna excitedly grabbed the phone and answered the call when she saw the number.

With a sly smile, she pressed the hands-free button.

"Carolyn! You are such a shameless woman. You've been pretending to be chaste before me all this while, but you slept with men behind my back. I've even received photos as evidence! I'm disappointed in you. Very disappointed! I want to inform you that I have canceled my engagement to you officially!"

The photos Cohen was talking about were sent to him by Reyna. Although there was no substantial material to those photos, they were still proof that Carolyn had been fooling around with men.
