The next day

"Ha-ha! It's so crazy and funny!" Jerome He was laughing out loud that it gave him a stomach ache.

"Jerome, why are you laughing?" Reyna put down her cosmetic case and looked at Jerome in confusion.

"I didn't expect Carolyn to go and negotiate the contract riding an electric bicycle! How absurd!" Jerome replied, bending over with laughter.

"What? Seaside Real Estate is one of MC Group's subsidiaries. If they see Carolyn riding an electric bicycle, they will look down on her," Reyna said.

"Carolyn was born a wimp! She is not capable of taking on this task! Let's wait and see. Her mother's legacy will undoubtedly be confiscated."

"I believe she has already given up. She went there just for show!"

"This time, we will kick Carolyn out of the Jiang family, and take the legacy from her."

Several members of the Jiang family echoed to flatter Jerome up.

"But what if she is stubborn and unwilling to hand over the legacy?"

"I don't think it's up to her. Grandma is very determined about it!

If you listen to me, no loss will come your way. I promise!" A sinister smile was playing across Jerome's face.

At Seaside Real Estate

Carolyn did not have a car, so she took an electric bicycle because she thought it would be more convenient.

When she entered the real estate company, the receptionist stopped her.

"Miss, how may I help you?"

"I want to see Carlos Deng. I have an appointment with him," Carolyn said.

"Miss, please bear with me. Mr. Deng has a lot of appointments today. Let me check the appointment records," the receptionist replied.

Her reply made Carolyn somewhat nervous. She knew that it was an important project and everyone wanted to have a piece of the action.

Last night, she had made preparations.

She had studied the history of MC Group and now had a thorough understanding of the company. She had to admit that Benson was a business genius. Under his management, Gu Group had reached its peak in only five years, and then it was renamed MC Group.

Carolyn did everything possible to make sure that the contract negotiation and signature went smoothly. She had gone out of her way to learn about the architectural concept of Seaside Real Estate and had gathered information on Carlos, the manager in charge of the real estate company.

She hoped she would be successful today. She didn't want members of the Jiang family to laugh at her.

"Miss, I'm sorry, our records have nothing about your appointment. I can't allow you to go meet Mr. Deng," the receptionist said, shaking her head.

"It cannot be! Please, double check. I made an appointment with him yesterday." Carolyn was now anxious.

Right now, there were so many competitors. If she fell behind, she didn't know how long she would have to wait for her turn. When that happened, the odds would be heavily against her.

The receptionist thought Carolyn was stubborn. Since the appointment records did not contain her name, maybe the Jiang family was not qualified for the contract, and Carlos didn't want to see her. He was just too embarrassed to refuse her over the phone.

"Miss, that's the truth. It will be wise if you go back. Please, don't disturb us while we are working," the receptionist said, her face looking sullen.

Carolyn was now worried. "Please, wait a moment. Let me call him again."

The receptionist looked at Carolyn with contempt. 'I have never seen such a thick-skinned person.'

Carolyn knew that Carlos was not answering her calls on purpose. However, she was determined to contact him and get the contract signed.

"Miss, you'd better be going. We have other people to attend to," the receptionist told her in an impolite tone.

"I'm so sorry I bothered you," Carolyn said, embarrassed.

She sighed and thought to herself, 'It doesn't matter. I will come back tomorrow. Come on, Carolyn! Get yourself together. You're not giving up until the end!'

When she turned around to leave, she bumped into the muscular chest of a man by accident.

"Ouch!"

Carolyn screamed in pain. She had to cover her forehead with her hand.

"Why are you here?"

The voice was magnetic and came from above her.

"It's you!" Carolyn opened her mouth in surprise as she looked up at the man in front of her.

He was no other person but Benson. He couldn't stand the nagging of his grandmother at MC Group, so he came to Seaside Real Estate to enjoy being alone. This also gave him the chance to conduct a spot check on the company's operations.

He was wearing a neat, elegant, and dignified suit. He had a domineering attitude about him. It made him look charming and noble.

"I remember you. What are you doing here?" Carolyn raised her eyebrows, peering at Benson.

In her eyes, Benson was a bastard. She believed he did not deserve stepping his foot into the company.

"Does this company belong to you? I can come here whenever I want to," Benson said in a deliberate tone that showed his domineering character. He looked at Carolyn's ruddy face and smiled.

Carolyn's impression of Benson wasn't a good one, although he looked charming and handsome at the moment.

When Carolyn saw Luis behind Benson carrying his suitcase, something dawned on her.

"Did you come here for the project too?" Carolyn asked with an anxious expression.

Although she didn't know Benson's real identity, she learned from what he was wearing that he must be from a wealthy family. He was wearing a custom-made Armani suit and a Patek Philippe wristwatch.

Since he was coming from a wealthy family, she believed his company should have a more significant competitive advantage than Jiang Group.

From the question Carolyn asked him and the nervous look on her face, Benson could tell that she was here for the project.

He cleared his throat and said with a smile, "Yes!"

This was a piece of shocking news for Carolyn.

'Damn it! He's really here to compete for the project!'

Carolyn looked nervous and worried, which amused Benson. 'She is so cute!'

"What's your company's name?" Carolyn asked eagerly. By having detailed information about her opponent, she knew she would be able to defeat him.

Benson hesitated, and then he said, "Universe Company."

When Luis heard what Benson said, he became confused.

'Universe Company? It doesn't exist.'

Carolyn took out her phone and searched for the name of the company.

Just then, she heard greetings from behind her. The tone was full of respect.

"Good morning, Mr. Deng! How was your night?"

When Carolyn heard this, she stopped whatever she was doing and was about to run over to Carlos.

Benson's face darkened.

"Hello, Mr. Deng. I'm Carolyn Jiang from Jiang Group. We talked on the phone last night..."

'So, her name is Carolyn Jiang, ' Benson thought.

Carolyn blocked Carlos' line of sight, so he was not aware that Benson was behind her.

"I'm sorry, Miss Jiang. Seaside Real Estate has high standards. I'm afraid your company won't meet those standards. Have a nice day." Although Carlos thought the woman in front of him was both pretty and attractive, he was afraid to grant her request.

After all, Benson had set rigorous standards for any company competing for the real estate project. If anything went wrong, Benson would fire him.
