Chapter 8 A Game Of Cat And Mouse (Part Two)

"Stop! I said stop!" His voice was full of warning.

Evelyn covered her eyes and stopped obediently.

He grabbed Evelyn's thin wrist and dragged her to the office forcefully. "Boss, how did you know I would go up to the twenty sixth floor?" Evelyn asked.

Byron snorted, "You are slovenly, rude and brainless. Except for this human skin, what's the difference between you and a pig? I have never seen someone like you!"

Unable to defend herself, Evelyn had to keep silent.

Bang!

The door of the office was slammed shut. Byron looked down at Evelyn and asked, "Tell me, who allowed you to enter the company?"

Evelyn covered her mouth and shook her head desperately.

Byron resisted the urge to crush her. He turned around and pressed the internal phone on the desk.

"Boss... Boss... No! Please don't call the security guard! I'll tell you the truth!" Afraid that "the nightmare" would reappear, Evelyn rushed forward and grabbed the man's hand.

"Stay away from me!"

Byron shook her off, with disgust in his eyes.

"Don't touch me!" He tidied up his wrinkled sleeves. Then he said coldly, "Tell me, don't waste my time."

After thinking for a while, Evelyn finally decided to tell him everything.

"I begged Mr. Yuan to give me another chance. The Logistics Department is short of people, so I took the place. Don't blame him. It's all my fault. If you want to fire someone, fire me." Anyway, it was not the first time that she was fired.

After saying that, Evelyn straightened her chest.

Byron remained silent. He sat down at his desk and turned on his laptop. While typing, he asked, "What's your name?"

"Evelyn!"

"Are you in the Logistics Department?"

"Yes," Evelyn replied and nodded in a hurry.

After a while, Byron turned the laptop to a direction and hinted Evelyn to come over.

"The Sybil Hotel never has overbearing terms. However, even if a fixed term contract is signed, it doesn't mean that the employees will not be fired. The company can still fire them for serious violation of the labor discipline." He frowned and added, "Do you understand what I mean?"

"I understand! If I make mistakes during the contract period, I will resign even if you don't ask me to leave," Evelyn said.

Byron didn't say anything, but his eyes were obviously no longer aggressive.

"By the way, boss, I said I would pay for your medical expenses..." As Evelyn spoke, she took out a few cash from her apron and said, "I don't know how much you have spent, but I think these should be enough, right?"

Looking at the flattering smile on Evelyn's face, Byron felt suffocated for no reason.

He thought that this little woman was really annoying him all the time.

"Don't mention what happened yesterday to me. Get out," he said coldly.

"But, boss, if you don't accept this compensation, I will feel sorry..."

"Get out!" His voice rose abruptly.

Evelyn bit her lower lip tightly and said nothing.

When the atmosphere was about to freeze again, there was a sudden knock on the door.

Evelyn took the money and bowed to Byron. Then she opened the door and ran away.

Vincent and others hadn't seen what she looked like yet.

"You make me happy. How are you doing girls? I know everybody..."

During the lunch break, Evelyn's phone rang.

"Hey, Doris..."

Before she could finish her words, she heard Doris' furious voice from the other end of the phone, "What are you doing, Evelyn? You are messed up again!"

Turning left at the gate of the Sybil Hotel, there was a milk tea shop called "Blue Dream."

The whole shop was decorated in blue-the bar counter table was made of light blue crystal marble, and the wallpapers were creative doodles. On the roof, there was a huge blue whale. Every time the light from every corner was projected on the ceiling, the whale seemed to come to life, wandering freely in the blue sea.

As usual, Evelyn ordered a glass of blueberry juice and sat opposite Doris, letting Doris scold her.

"I worked hard to get an opportunity for you, but why did you transfer to the Logistics Department? And why did you do the fool thing again in the Logistics Department? If it weren't for the fact that everyone in the company was talking about you, Evelyn, would you hide it from me for the rest of your life? Why didn't you tell me?" Doris asked angrily.

"Wait... What did you say? Did you say that the whole company was talking about me? Really?" Evelyn almost choked on the blueberry juice.

"Don't tell me you don't know yet!" Doris was so angry that she rolled her eyes. "This morning, the boss ran after you. The whole company has known about it! Someone even wants to investigate you!"

"What? Why? Why do they want to investigate me? Did I offend them? I don't understand," Evelyn asked as she widened her eyes in disbelief.

"Are you playing dumb with me? Or are you really stupid?" Taking a sip of the ice black tea to calm herself down, Doris asked, "Do you know how we address our boss in private?"

Evelyn shook her head honestly.

"A machine without feelings! Our boss' way of doing things is very cold and hard, and he never affected any emotions for anyone. If you let him run after you today, of course everyone will think too much!" Doris said.

Evelyn then explained the cause, process and result of the matter in detail to Doris.

After hearing that, Doris showed a familiar expression on her face, as if she had known that.

"I knew it. You made a mess and provoked our boss. So he chased after you," Doris replied.
