Chapter 1 Arise From The Dead

Lyra's POV

I felt rippling pain through my chest and I fell back on my butt. I opened my eyes and looked down at my longer hand, amazement soared in me. My body felt lighter than usual,

Something wasn't right, I could feel it in my gut.

My hand touched through my stomach, a reflex action I had gotten accustomed to these days, unfortunately, my stomach was totally flat and smooth! This is totally impossible!

I am pregnant!

A blinding light shone on me and I had to cover my eyes with the back of my hand.

"Luna Lyra of the Blue moon pack."

A strangely deep voice sounded through every part of my body. The shining light dimmed down a little and I could see a creature walking towards me. When I made out its features, I could tell it was a wolf. I was mesmerized by its fur, its shimmering blue eyes and powerful demeanor gave it away all too fast enough,

The legend had always been passed down to all werewolves, I couldn't have been wrong, my mouth went faster than my heart,

"Moon goddess!"

My voice came out in a barely audible whisper, as if the creature had heard me clearly, she shifted to a human form, then I was certainly not mistaken,

She was everything befitting a goddess, those blue eyes, flowing white gown, white long hair and her elegance.

Confusion erupted in me, what the heck is going on?

"Luna Lyra, your children are over there, they are dead, and so are you!"

How cruel could the moon goddess be to sound so unempatic like that. I turned slightly to my left and I saw two identical children walk into a vacuum. I wanted to rush after them but my legs refused to comply.

Then my eye caught it, my body on the floor with my hefty baby bump, then it struck me, but I needed to confirm it.

I looked into the moon goddess's eyeballs, as if a world shifted to accommodate my thought. I saw a clear reflection of myself, my high cheekbones, slender face, slightly crooked nose,

Oh my goodness! This isn't me!

"You can have them again if you live on, I mean children." the moon goddess said as she settled down in a valley right beside me.

Everything was upsetting, more importantly, confusing. I tried to have a recap of what had happened in the past few days. I remembered waking up in the middle of the night feeling immense pain. It felt like my babies were coming,

I mind linked my mate, but he ignored me. I knew he had rejected me publicly the previous day with a claim of witchcraft, but I was hoping that he reconsiders

I was there wallowing in pain till.... I have no idea.

"Whose body is this?" I questioned suspiciously.

She gave me a long look before finally responding,

"You will find out soon enough."

The moon goddess was probably right, I must be dead! Her presence, and my strange body was evidence enough!

"Are we in the afterlife now?" I questioned suspiciously, I needed to understand how terrible my situation was, to determine my next plan of action.

"I cannot admit you into the afterlife with that distasteful mark."

Arghh!!!

I shouted as I felt a stinging sensation on my neck region as her face twisted in disgust. I didn't need to be told, I touched it slightly, my Luna mark had bore a deeper hole into my skin.

"Why do I still have it then?" I questioned in annoyance, she had watched me die in agony without saving me, and now she wasn't planning on admitting me into the afterlife after killing my unborn pups!

I had better hopes for the moon goddess in my thoughts of the past...

What twisted thinking is this?

"You were murdered at the wrong time by the wrong person, that wasn't the destiny I knotted for you."

She was pissed, I could tell by her tone. But I felt she was wrong, I had died all on my own, nobody was there, not even my mate that had just pronounced his rejection of me the previous day.

I knew I had died as a bitter woman, but murder was wrong to assume.

The moon goddess got up and walked up to me, her silvery long hair resting its length on the leaves as she walked past them till she got to me. I was immobile as my body still felt very weak, she touched the softness of my cheek, and I felt myself falling into a bottomless pit.

That was where it all happened,

The memories beyond the memories I had!

The witch chants, the poisonous herbs and my mate's cheating. I was slammed back into reality and I felt a teardrop from my eyes,

I had trusted wrongly, loved too dearly, it cost me my life, and they took that of my babies.

I wasn't going to forgive this, I am definitely not seeking for justice,

I want cold blooded revenge!

"I want to live again, moon goddess," I said bitterly.

Cullen's POV

A loud thunder crashed from the sky and I jumped hastily out of bed, I was panting loudly as my insistent pounding heart wouldn't stop.

I knew my wizard ability was at work, this wasn't a bad nightmare, it was a vision!

The odd order I had to oblige my pack warriors to follow earlier that day, weighed heavily in my heart. Probably it had generated into the intense vision I had just escaped from. Being a hybrid wolf has its downsides, especially one that comes from a powerful lineage of witches.

I had seen two women in the darkness of the forest, the exact place where the warriors dumped Luna Lyra's corpse that day, I didn't follow them to that exact point because I couldn't afford to take part in the cruelty. But my Alpha's word had to be adhere to, after all,

She was his fated mate!

I strained my ear and tried to read the lips of the two women, but unfortunately it felt like I had something restricting me. I tried to approach just in time when the woman in black shot lasers directly from her eyes and I was blasted away.

I managed to get out of bed,

Being a half breed wizard was a burden I have to bear, but my reality matters more. Beta of the Blue Moon pack is my realistic life!

The rain wasn't subsiding any moment soon nor was the thunder. I wanted to make for the restroom when I stopped in my track,

Tears streamed down my eyes. I had watched Lyra's heavy body lifted lightly by the pack warriors as they made for the forest, I watched Alpha Orion's unblinking gaze, and what I saw,

It felt like relief!

A loud banging on my door jolted me out of my misery, I am the pack beta, I had to act like one. I cleaned my tears and turned the door knob,

One of my warriors stood there. He bowed his head slightly as our eyes met.

"Beta Cullen, the Alpha requests your presence immediately."

"Immediately! Is there any problem?" I questioned suspiciously.

He tried to avoid my gaze, but I could tell I was not going to like what I was about to hear. I raised a furrowed brow as his hesitance was starting to annoy me.

"Yes Beta Cullen, Alpha Orion is getting married right now."

"What!"
