Chapter 4 Alive Asides Death

Lyra's POV

Suddenly a creature flew out on the forest and jumped on me. I threw it off with all the strength I could muster, and it landed on the plane ground panting hard,

Oww! oww!

I wanted to throw my fireball at it, but I stopped instantly as our eyes met, It wasn't a hostile creature as I was anticipating, It was a werewolf.

It changed back to the human form and our eyes met again.

It was Beta Cullen of the Blue Moon Pack!

And this was how it had started,

The long waiting was starting to bore me. The moon goddess had abandoned me again. Agitation arose in me as I waited endlessly for my wizard guide as she had said, but unfortunately all I had was the gross view of my own dead body.

I am stuck here! I have been stuck here for quite some days.

I fiddled with my long left hand. This body really feels fascinating, she was slender and feminine, yet stronger than my old body.

The moon goddess had kept her identity a secret after throwing the bombshell of my gruesome death in my face. I clenched my fist as I felt power surge through me

Thankfully I was no longer a mere werewolf, I have been fortified, ready for the battle ahead. The moon goddess had dimmed me fit to get back what was meant to be mine

That crazy witch had dared the moon goddess.

I was the weapon of destruction sent against her, unfortunately, despite my readiness,

I couldn't start my mission until my mysterious guide arrived, someone whose identity the moon goddess had hidden from me.

In my new body, I hate surprises,

But why do I keep getting them?

I had been waiting endlessly surviving only on wild fruits, and I had tried to find my own way out of the wilderness, but it felt I had been confined in the place by a powerful force.

On the second thought, was I going to leave my dead body there without proper burial?

I had to give her to the earth, I couldn't allow wild animals to devour my carcass, that would have hurt me more.

I could have done it on my own, but the moon goddess had sternly warned me against it. She had said my guide had to get it done.

Who the heck is this obnoxious guide anyway?

The gentle rustling of the leaves from the north region raised my alarm. I stood up hastily, but all I heard was consistent slashing, like a fight was breaking out.

The forest had stayed quiet since my rebirth. I guess the moon goddess had kept it safe enough for me, but that didn't guarantee that a savior was on the way, I had to be careful.

I moved strategically close to the source of the disturbance. I had made a fireball on my left hand ready to descend on whatever wild beast comes through

I still hadn't gotten so used to my new powers, but at least, I had practiced it enough to scare away the enemy.

The leaves rustle again, and this time I heard a loud chill cry, I couldn't be certain of what creature that could be, but I was certain it wasn't a werewolf.

More slashes followed and suddenly,

The forest grew quiet.

That scared me more.

I brought the fireball close to my face,

Ouch!

I almost burnt myself!

Then suddenly, he descended on me like a tornado!

Cullen's POV

I landed on the ground with a loud thud, and I could swear I felt my bone crack. I must have broken a few ribs with the intensity of the way I was thrown, off course, my eyes met with my attacker,

Surprisingly,

It was a very stunning young lady. She held a fireball in her hand and was about to throw it in my direction when something shifted in her eyes,

"Beta Cullen!!"

Her soft singsong voice got me hooked. I tried to get up, but I couldn't. I didn't need to ask of her identity as the witches had told me already, I had seen it in my vision.

Luna Lyra had gotten another body, a younger one at that!

"Luna."

I managed to say, but my voice came out in a barely audible whisper. She rushed to my side and tried to lift me up, the fireball in her hand had disappeared.

I managed to get up with her assistance and I smiled warmly at her. She didn't return my enthusiasm, she just kept her sharp gaze on me as if still doubtful if I was a friend or foe.

"The mountain of revival turns out to be farther and more dangerous than I had anticipated." I said, trying to make light of the situation.

"How did you find me?" She said with a furrowed brow.

I paused to think of the best way to respond when my eyes caught it, her old body, lying down on the ground with her heavy pregnancy,

Sadness filled my entire body.

"Are you going to pretend to be sad for me, after all, all of you dumped my body like a mere dog?"

"I am sorry Luna Lyra, the witch Ember had everyone at the Blue Moon Pack hypnotized."

Lyra raised a questioning brow at me, as if I understood her confusion,

"Oh! I am a hybrid, my mother is a witch."

She nodded her head as realization sank into her. Her face brightened up a little, perhaps something that looked like hope surfaced in her eyes. I wished I could really comfort her, but I couldn't, the guilt of watching this evil happen to her without preventing it was eating me up.

Not that I could do much of anything since Alpha Orion was already under the witch's control. Back at the coven house when it was revealed to me that Luna Lyra had been reborn, I was shocked but glad at the same time.

I didn't hesitate to accept the opportunity to save her and also the rest of my pack. I was to take a dangerous journey to the mountain of revival to find her. My birth mother stood against it, vehemently refusing my involvement.

What right does she have to hold me back!

After the hot argument that ensued, she settled for fortifying me for the journey, and here I am in Luna Lyra's company, after almost getting swallowed by a mystical shifter, surviving a rogue werewolf attack and forest wild boar.

Now, I was going to save the only woman I have ever loved!
