Chapter 3 Wearing My Armor

Lyra's POV

"Arrrrgh!!!"

I screamed loudly at the top of my voice. The moon goddess kept giggling like a teenage girl. I hadn't seen this coming, I had said I wanted revenge, but I didn't know fortification was this painful.

I felt my hand heat up as the burning sensation refused to subside, it was hard enough to finally adjust to this new body. t took me quite some time to get on my feet without falling back.

"Do it again Lyra!"

What? Is she being serious right now, she sat there fiddling with her long hair and watched me burn my hands over and over again, yet she expects me to do that again, hell no!

"Forget it if you aren't interested in revenge anymore."

Now she got me there, my face lightened up, the painful memories of my past surfaced in my mind. I imagined my husband Alpha Orion kissing that bitch Aurora and fresh anger surged within me.

"Arrrghhh!"

I shouted as I summoned a bigger fireball and threw it in the bush nearby. It burned fiercely and excitement exploded in me, I had finally done it, I turned to face the moon goddess, but to my surprise, she wore a deep frown.

It felt like her gaze was about to melt me,

What had I done really wrong?

"You have retribution for that, are you aware?"

I raised a confused brow,

She turned to the area where I had thrown the fireball and parted the forest with her magic, three rabbits lay unmoving on the floor,

I covered my mouth with my hand. I hadn't planned to do that, how was I to know some freaking rabbits were hiding in the forest.

"Are they dead?" I questioned hoping I was wrong.

"You are fortunate, they can be revived, but that leaves you to bear the brunt of justice."

My hopes rose higher, so did my anxiety. What burden was this callous goddess about to dish me. she waved her hand and the three rabbits got up at once and ran away as fast as they could.

"What brunt?" I finally questioned with a thumping heart.

"You cannot leave here, that is the forest's punishment, and also the brunt you must bear for attacking defenseless animals ."

What? What happened to helping me get revenge, giving me a new body if I am going to be stuck here to waste the rest of my lifespan appeasing the forest's anger at me.

"Don't be alarmed Lyra, a guide will come for you, he will get you out of here and together you will conquer evil."

"Who?" I questioned hastily.

She gave me a weird look, her blue eye changed to a slightly darker shade of a contrasting color that I can't accurately describe.

"You will find out soon enough."

Wow! How fast was it for her to knot my life to a total stranger in a jiffy without caring if I had an objection.

"Your objection doesn't matter to me Lyra, your unplanned death had stressed me enough,I had to knot again so many loose strings, now you figure the rest out on your own."

Wow! She could read minds?

The moon goddess had been reading my mind all along,

Before I could make sense of the bombshell she just dropped, she disappeared leaving me to myself without even a proper goodbye,

The myths had been wrong all along, she had been underrated.

The moon goddess was more mystical than I had ever imagined!

But above the pain of getting abandoned again , the reality of being alone hit harder.

When on earth was this obnoxious guide going to show up?

Cullen's POV

Mother had vehemently opposed, not that I needed her permission to save Luna Lyra, but I needed her help to know how to.

I had watched another hour pass by. She was still in a heated argument with her coven sister who was ready to help me, but mother insisted that the mountain of revival was dangerous. it was a forest made by the creator of the old, it had its own rules,

Rules that could get me killed if I make one wrong mistake.

I had come to the coven house with full determination that I wasn't going to be at her mercy. She deserves all the hate I was throwing her way. If my adopted parents hadn't stepped in, would she have thrown me away?

Nobody told me the real story, but I sensed hostility between her and my adopted parents on the day we had visited. Why would a witch make love with a werewolf if she wasn't ready to bear the consequence?

"Cullen, I am not letting you go in there without proper fortification."

Now she had definitely changed her mind. I nodded my head in agreement, she looked angry and stormed out after leaving me with a word.

"I can't do it, my sister will take care of this."

Now again, she walked out on me just as she did when I was merely an infant.

Her coven sister moved close to me. She brought out a burning incense, some sand, a bowl of water and a large crystal ball. I watched in amusement, her brows raised slightly up,

"These are the four elements, I am a fire user so this might sting a bit for you."

I regretted believing that a few minutes later! It didn't just sting! It burned! Like I was thrown in a burning furnace. With each incision she made on me, I felt the energy in my body gather, as if something was about to explode in me,

I couldn't hold back on the pain. My wolf surfaced, fangs, green eyes, sharp nails, I was still half human when my anger arose and I pushed her to the wall!

As if she had intended for that to happen, she stood up hastily and rushed towards me. he held the crystal to my heart and it burned through my flesh till it disappeared.

"Arrrghhh!"

I shouted in agony and fell back on my butt panting hard. She was panting too as she relaxed back on the chair opposite where I sat.

"Now you are ready for your Journey wolf boy.
