Chapter 8 The red carpet embarrassment

At the red carpet event.

Two days later, Edward had an important red carpet event to attend , and everyone attending would has to come with their partners,

Edward had to ask Lisa to accompany him to the event,they arrived at the event,in his Ferrari, Edward was in his expensive designer suit, beside him was Lisa who was dressed in a beautiful velvet red dinner gown,

Stepping out of his car,the paparazzi immediately surrounded them,

Both walked in hands looking like the perfect couple, different Media houses,were present at the event and couldn't stop taking pictures of them,

Different cameras flashed lights at them,as they posed, Edward pulled her in for a kiss,at the red carpet events,his arms wrapped possessively round her waist,

Lisa gave the media,the most brightest photogenic smile as the paparazzi surround them,they made their way into the hall of the event,

They were welcomed warmly by the host, different celebrities,top personalities,were all also present ,

The event started in earnest,Lisa was parading herself as the Almighty Edward Taylor's girlfriend, she went about belittling and insulting some of the guest present at the event,

She started to insult,the wife of Edward's longtime friend,who was also present at the event,she said

Hey Maria, how are you doing?,Lisa asked

Am fine Lisa, it's been a long time and you look so stunning in this dress,she complimented her,

Yes I know,I look good, given that am Edward Taylor's girlfriend,I have to look my very best and my figure compliments to it, unlike some here,that looks like a bag of corn,she said making mockery of Maria.

Excuse me Lisa, but were you referring to me?? She asked in disbelief,"oh yeah I was actually talking to you",you have put on so much weight,I bet your husband can't stand you anymore,Lisa said so rudely,

"I can't believe that you could say those things to me, we used to be friends,why are you being so mean towards me, Maria asked her raising her voice

"You don't have to raise your voice"or else you wouldn't want everyone here to know that you are so fat and unattractive you have been,you look so horrible,Lisa said laughing so mischievously,

"What is going on here", Oscar, Maria's husband,who is also an actor asked, sweetheart,why are you crying??he asked his wife,

Maria who was sobbing said,she has been making fun of me,she has done nothing but to body shame me all night, calling me a bag of corn,she also said that you can't stand me anymore, she said I look horrible Maria said crying profusely,

What!!!,why Lisa,why would you make fun of Maria,in front of everyone present here tonight, aren't you both supposed to be friends??,Oscar asked her,

Please spare me all that lectures,am simply been honest about everything I said,she is so fat, just take a good look at her,I bet you must be embarrassed at the sight of her, she isn't my friend anyone,I don't keep friends with people who are fat,it would ruin my reputation as a model,Lisa said in mocking manner

Enough Lisa, that's enough,I won't stand here and watch you disrespect any wife in front of everyone present here tonight, it's fine if you don't want to be friends with her, but I won't stand the insult you give her,Oscar said angrily,

The matter escalated,that Edward's attention were drawn to them,he noticed what was happening, he went for to ask what was going on

What is the matter Oscar,why are you arguing with Lisa,he said in his usual cold voice,

Edward it's good that you are are here, please you have to tame your wild girlfriend,she has done nothing but to body shame my wife throughout the night, calling her fat,

She has been parading herself as a queen, just because she is your girlfriend, Oscar said angrily,

Lisa he called out to her,his voice as cold as ice,how dare you,talk to Maria in that manner,he yelled at her so loudly that it drew the attention of all the guest,

How dare you talk to Maria,in that manner,who the hell do you think you are,he asked her so rudely,his face turned red in anger,

The look on his face, frightened Lisa so much, that it sent shiver down her spine,

I want you to apologize to Maria right now,in front of everyone present here tonight and right now,he ordered her,

But Lisa kept quiet, looking at the Colorful tile,she was feeling so embarrassed with what was happening, how can he humiliate me like this in public,she said to herself,

Don't make me repeat myself again,he yelled at her, looking up she meet his gaze, and saw how dead serious he was and she knows how he can be when,he gets angry,

Am sorry she muttered under her breath,I can't hear you,you have to be so audible, because I could hear you across the hall, when you were blabbering all that nonsense, but suddenly you can't speak he yelled at her,

Am so sorry Maria,am sorry for body shaming you, please forgive me Maria,she said so loudly,

It's fine Maria said,I hold nothing against you,she said to Lisa

Am so sorry for everything,he apologized to Oscar, it's my fault for inviting her to this event, please accept my apologies,he had feeling very angry, because it is not in his nature to apologize, but because of Lisa,he had to,

After the apology Edward felt very humiliated, that he angrily stormed out of the event, leaving Lisa behind,

Lisa being overwhelmed by shame, couldn't bear it anymore as everyone was pointing fingers at her,she quietly Left from the event, calling her driver to take her to her hotel room.
