Chapter 5 A New phase in Zara's life

The following morning in Zara's apartment she got up so early to prepare for the interview,

I just hope that am accepted for the job,this could help in paying for Collins hospital bills I hope this works out,she thought to herself.

At the Taylor's mansion

Zara knocked at the gate feeling so nervous,the gate opened,

"Oh miss you are here" , you came quite early and that's good the boss is around, please come in,the gate man said

"Good morning sir",she replied politely stepping into the compound she was left in awe with the magnificent building in front of her,she has never seen a luxurious mansion before,she was lost in thought , when a guard called out to her.

"You are not here for a sight seeing", but here to work, come with me he said rudely to Zara,

"Am sorry sir she apologized", following him quickly as he lead her to the living room,where she is to be interviewed by Edward.

"You can have a seat here", master Edward will be with you shortly for the interview the guard said,

"Thank you sir,she said politely", sitting down on the couch, admiring the art work on the walls,

At the master's bedroom

Edward who was leaned back on his plush study chair,stepping his fingers as he gazed outside his window at the breathtaking city view, but he was interrupted by a knock on the door,

"Who is it he snapped angrily", sorry to bother you master, but there is a lady here for the interview she is waiting for you in the hall.

"You can leave,I will be there he said rudely", I will be there shortly,

After a while he stood up and left for the living room,as he was descending down the stairs,he was mesmerized by her beauty,

"but immediately he saw her sitting on his expensive couch',he snapped angrily tightened his jaw in anger.

"How dare you sit on my expensive couch, you low- life, stinking with poverty,if you are to work here,then they are certain rules that you have to follow strictly, will you stand up from there he thundered.

"Am so sorry sir,she apologize getting up from the couch.

"His piercing gaze seemed to bore into her soul send shiver down her spine",his confidence and charisma radiate like a palpable force.

"What is your name??, young lady,he asked her so coldly,

"So you are here for the house keeper's position',he said with so much authority and superiority that Zara could not help but shiver.

"Yes sir,she answered in a low tone but was cut off by Edward,are you dumb?? Can't you speak up he asked her harshly.

"My name is Zara sir", and am here for the position of the house keeper she said so loudly,

"That's better because I can not work or have anything to do with a dumb person he said,

"You look quite fit for the job", but I have some rules that are that must be followed strictly and must not be broken he said,

"And I will list them for you and consider yourself fired",if you ever break anyone of them,do you understand me he said rudely,

"Yes sir I do, she replied",that's good so let's get down to business because I don't like wasting my precious time on irrelevant people,he said taking a seat on the couch,

"Rule number 1: You are not allowed to share the affairs of this house with anyone and also I am a celebrity, so you must not share the affairs of my house in public,it is highly confidential.

"Rule number 2: you are not allowed to have guests in this house, and no one is allowed to visit you.

"Rule number 3: you are not allowed to touch any of my expensive things,nor are you allowed to sit on my couch,I will pardon you today but consider yourself fired if you ever break this rule.

"Rule number 4: You are not allowed to disrespect any members of my family in any way.

"Rule number 5:You should never try stealing from me and if you do, I will make sure you find yourself behind bars for messing with Edward Taylor.

"Rule number 6: I will only call you once and I don't like repeating myself, so if you don't answer on the first call, you will be punished severely,do I make myself clear he asked her,

"And you will be paid a salary of ($5,000 dollars) per month,I bet you can't find anywhere else that pays so good he said so arrogantly,

"You are hired, you can start now, but if you are not comfortable with any of my rules", you should leave right now and get your stinking self out of my mansion this instant.

"What have I gotten myself into", how can someone be so arrogant and so full of his self, but I can't back out now,am doing this for my brother,his life is more important to me than anything else,

"So I have to tolerate this arrogant jerk and accept this Job offer",the salary is so high with this i can pay for my brother's hospital bills,I have to do this she thought to herself.

"Yes sir I will take the job and I promise to abide by all the rules of the house she said".

"That's good you were taking forever", deciding but whatever it is you have to start immediately and he was interrupted by Zara

"Am so sorry to have interrupted you", but please can I be getting a day off,the thing is that I have a sick brother in the hospital and I have to always go check up on him

Enough!!! Of your pathetic story, I am not at all interested in your life or anything that concerns you,I am paying you so much for the work you are doing not to be lazing around he barked at her making her to shiver.

"Am sorry sir, she apologized bowing her head", you will be taken to the servants quarters and you are to start working immediately, I am not paying you to be idle he said but he was interrupted by his mother.

"Enough!! Edward you don't have to be so rude to her",I raised you better than this,his mother yelled at him,she has been watching everything that was happening,

"It's fine mom, you don't have to be so worked up by this people he replied".

"What do you mean Edward,life is not all about having money, you should show compassion to everyone around you,that she is here to work doesn't give us the right to belittle her,his mother scolded him.

"Fine whatever you say,he stormed out angrily".

"Sorry about that, please do not mind my son",he might be a little worked up sometimes, but he is a good human being,I apologize to you on his behalf.

"You don't have to apologize to me ma'am I totally understand",she said.

"What is your name sweetheart,she asked

"My name is Zara ma'am she replied.wow that is a beautiful name for a beautiful young lady ma'am Susan said

"Making her to blush",thank you ma for the warm welcome Zara said.

"It's nothing sweetheart, please feel at home and if you have any problem with anything, please don't hesitate to talk to me about it okay, come let me show you around, Susan said taking her around the house.
