Chapter 5 Looking For Strength

Kay thought about the information rolling around in his head. One day ago was the time when Enzo arrived at the Alexsander duchy.

Kay should have met Enzo yesterday, a man who had spent more than nineteen years of his life in the bloody forest.

That was the brief information that God shared with Kay. The reason Enzo was bound to the crown prince and the kingdom was actually quite simple.

The Crown Prince happened to be a benefactor who gave Enzo a place to stay after Dilan, Kay's younger brother first expelled Enzo from the duchy.

Even now, even after his second life, Kay still doesn't know why Dilan kicked Enzo out of the duchy.

It's a story that is quite simple yet complicated to understand. If Enzo can be described as a stray cat who has no master, when Dilan takes Enzo on orders from him, Enzo has a home and also an owner that he must obey.

Although it didn't last long, if Kay remembers correctly Enzo lived in Alexsander's duchy for three years before Dilan kicked him out.

And that's when the Crown Prince took in the abandoned cat Enzo. From then on, Enzo did many things that the crown prince ordered him to do during the war.

Kay sighed unconsciously. He looked very tired even just thinking about the foolish hero who was tossed about so easily.

"This time I'll be a benefactor for him, that way he won't get tossed around as easily as before."

I just need to become a benefactor who gives stray cats a place to live and also decent food. That way I will become the stray cat's master.

Kay doesn't need to stir up trouble and get into fights with Enzo like in his first life. Also, he wouldn't ask his younger brother to represent him as a benefactor and bring Enzo to their home.

This time Kay would do the troublesome thing by himself. Kay was covering his face with both hands when Simon returned to his room.

"Young master, the carriage is ready. You can leave whenever you want."

As Kay looked at Simon, he just remembered that Kay also had to make Simon and Enzo have a good relationship. If Enzo had a partner he could rely on to protect his back when fighting it would be good for him.

"I understand, thank you."

Kay noticed Simon's expression that changed strangely every time he thanked him. But Kay didn't want to bother with what Simon thought of him.

Kay was now outside his residence seeing Simon still following him and chasing him away.

"Simon, I'm going out so don't follow me."

Kay always said that if he was going to spend his day at the bar closest to their residence.

It was the best bar in the Alexsander duchy, Kay usually spent his time drinking alcohol there when he was bored at home.

Simon who basically didn't like getting involved with Kay, wouldn't ask many questions and just told Kay to spend his time pleasantly.

But this time something different happened, Kay saw Simon looking at him seriously before the man asked him an unexpected question.

"Do you intend to give food to the beggar you met by chance yesterday?"

Kay, who did not understand what Simon was saying, looked confused. His face seemed to say that what Simon had just said made no sense.

Simon who saw Kay confused just smiled as usual. Surprisingly Kay felt creepy seeing the smile on Simon's face this time.

"I understand, young master. I won't follow you anymore, have a nice journey."

Kay showed more wrinkles on his forehead as he saw Simon bowing respectfully to him.

Kay saw a fairly large and tidy garden as he walked further out of his residence. Kay who had just boarded the carriage sighed heavily when he saw Simon's stiff expression through the carriage door that began to close.

"Ah, I never knew it would be this tiring when assassins pretending to be good servants seem to keep following me around."

Kay felt that it would have been better, if God had not told him that Simon whom Kay only thought of as an ordinary butler, turned out to be the descendant of a family of assassins that had been destroyed.

That made it harder for Kay to deal with Simon normally like he used to. Moreover, every time Kay saw Simon's changing facial expressions, he felt terrified.

"Young master, where do you want to go today?"

The coachman asked Kay cautiously, even more so after he saw the look of upset on Kay's face.

Kay thought for a moment, caught between the power he had to seek and also meeting Enzo to be his benefactor.

Which one should Kay do first. After thinking for a while, Kay decided to go to the place God told him about before he met Enzo afterwards.

"Market, please take me to the nearest market."

Kay spoke without hesitation. After getting his destination, the luxurious carriage Kay was in started to leave Alexsander's estate.

Kay deliberately wore the simplest clothes he had. He did this so that none of the residents would recognise him.

Only I Kay forgot one of the most important things. His shiny golden hair, anyone who saw his rare hair colour would immediately know his identity easily.

"Young master, is there anything I can help you with?"

An old man, the owner of the eatery Kay visited came to him with a pale face.

That face said as if telling Kay, if today was the owner of this eatery's worst day because he had to meet a young master who liked to fight like him.

Kay ignored the pale face of the restaurant owner and began to say his wish.

"The best food here, I want to order it to take home, please bring it to me quickly."

The old man nodded his head hurriedly and went to make Kay's order.

Kay smiled with satisfaction as he noticed the old man who owned the restaurant made his order very quickly.

The old man's hand trembled as he handed Kay's order to him. Kay just sighed as he took the order he made and gave the old man a gold coin before leaving the eatery.

The old man was surprised that Kay paid so much for a single meal.

'Young master, this is too much I don't have-'

The old man's words were cut off by Kay before he finished what he wanted to say.

'I don't need the change. Take it for me if you don't like it throw it away,' Kay said indifferently.

Outside the eatery Kay had come to a soldier was waiting for him. It was a soldier who was asked by his father, Count Hugo to follow wherever Kay went out of his residence.

Kay had previously told the soldier to buy some bread and fresh groceries with the gold coins Kay had given him.

"Did you do what I told you to do?"

The soldier nodded quickly at Kay's cruel voice asking him. He pointed to a large cart that contained a lot of fresh bakery and groceries that Kay had told him to buy earlier.

Kay sighed tiredly, he had only asked the soldier to buy some but what was brought was one large cart filled with lots of bread and fresh groceries.

"Young master, did I do something wrong?"

The soldier asked fearlessly at Kay who looked disgruntled. Kay didn't say anything.

He simply handed the soldier the bag of food he was carrying and climbed back into the carriage.

"Young master, are you going home now?"

"No, I will go somewhere before I return."

The soldier nodded his head, before he told the coachman to take them to the first place Kay wanted to go.

Kay looked at the simple building in front of him with a wrinkled forehead. The appearance of the simple two-storey building he saw was extremely shabby. It looked even worse than Kay had expected.

"I knew the fat man running this orphanage was a man who likes money, but I didn't expect it to be this bad."

The information inside his head told Kay that the old lady who was now lying sick in this orphanage, had the item Kay was looking for.

The item left behind by the God of balance that would help him to be able to control all the elemental magic that existed.

That was the reason Kay had the soldier accompanying him buy bread and fresh groceries for the orphanage.

I came to get something so I didn't have to bring something in exchange for the item I wanted to take.

"Erik here, doesn't my father make a donation to this orphanage every month?"

The soldier who was called by name approached Kay, Erik nodded his head hesitantly.

There were several things that made Erik confused, the fact about the troublemaking young master who suddenly told him to buy bread and fresh groceries managed to make him very surprised.

Not only that, the fact that the young master visited the only orphanage in ALexsander's duchy surprised him even more.

Not only that, the young master even knew that Caount Hugo provided the orphanage's operating funds every month.

"I guess the young master is just a disinterested brat who knows nothing about anything."

Erik muttered under his breath, Kay heard the mumbling but decided to ignore what she had just heard.

Kay signalled for Erik to knock on the closed door of the orphanage, Kay's expression looked even worse as he saw the little boy with shabby clothes and a parched body emerge from the open doorway with his innocent face.

"Ha, I knew this would happen."

Kay sighed heavily. Kay who had spent half of his life on the battlefield, surviving by ignoring the hunger in his stomach felt very angry at the sight of the little boy who looked like he hadn't eaten anything for the past few days.

"Erik, the person responsible for this orphanage, arrest that person," he said sternly.
