Kay who no longer cared about what happened to his soul decided to pretend that he didn't feel anything. I didn't ask any questions, and had no intention of finding out anything.
"Yeah, I just need to stay like this for now."
That was the simple plan he thought of, until his head was filled with a voice that forced him to open his eyes that were still closed.
Kay ignored the unfamiliar voice that filled his head, as if he had never heard anything in the first place, until Kay clicked his tongue when the unfamiliar voice that filled his head spoke about Enzo.
"Do you want to save everyone and realise the hero's dream?"
"Damn it!"
Kay internally cursed, his eyes still closed in tears. But his mind was filled with many questions.
"Chosen human, open your eyes."
The strange voice sounded again, this time Kay actually heard the strange voice in his ears. It was creepy and threatening at the same time. Kay opened his eyes in a flash.
"You opened your eyes. Are you interested in my offer?"
"Haa...."
Kay let out a short sigh before he slowly lifted his still-lying body to look around him.
Kay saw a familiar room before him. It looked very similar to his father's workspace, when he was a teenager.
There was a very luxurious looking desk with stacks of documents towering upwards. Strangely, there was only a desk that was very similar to his father's in front of Kay, while Kay himself was in a chair that he used to lie down and read books when he was a child.
"I can't see outside."
There was not a single window in the large room, so Kay could not see outside.
Kay looked down. He could smell the scent of coffee that greeted his senses. It was the smell of his favourite drink when he was alive.
"This smell, the smell of my favourite coffee," he murmured softly.
Kay looked back up, one eyebrow raised as he saw something that wasn't there before.
It was a strange and creepy feeling, someone was right in front of the workbench in front of him, looking at him with an expressionless face.
"God? Are you God?" he shouted loudly, the forty-five-year-old man's tone filled with shock.
The stranger spoke in the same voice as the unfamiliar voice that had filled his head moments before.
The God of Balance gently shrugged his shoulders indifferently. He ignored Kay's body that stiffened in place.
"You spoke very disrespectfully to me. A mortal who dares to shout at a God. It's beyond my expectation."
A mysterious smile appeared on the face of the God of Balance who was talking casually with Kay. The God of Balance nodded his head after seeing Kay's wary attitude towards him, as if he understood something.
"I guess, you were very surprised to see me. Human, you've been a very lucky human after all these thousands of years. No human can talk to a God directly like you are now."
Kay looked at the person standing gracefully in front of him, and stared at him before starting to speak.
"This doesn't make sense."
Kay's bloodshot eyes filled with curiosity observed the appearance of the person claiming to be a god in front of him.
"Are you really a god? Your appearance looks more like that of an ordinary human than that of a great God."
Kay spoke honestly, he had heard many soldiers and commoners talk about how great a god was during his lifetime. Kay's description of the embodiment of a god was very high, and now that he saw someone claiming to be a god shattered Kay's expectations of the form of a great god.
"What kind of impolite question is that?"
The God of Balance laughed. He jokingly responded to Kay's question, who was staring at him with a look full of disappointment. The human's gaze before him seemed to say how disappointed he was to see the form of a god who was no different from an ordinary human.
"This is not my true appearance. This ordinary human form, becomes my appearance when I work. Are you so disappointed human? You can't see the form of a God who is so majestic and holy as your expectation?"
Kay turned her gaze to the side. He avoided eye contact with the God who was staring at him, as the God of Balance easily knew what Kay was thinking inside his head.
"No, it's not like that."
Kay looked so shocked that he could not hide his emotions as he responded to what the god was saying to him.
His skin crawled as Kay saw God smiling meaningfully at him.
"It's just that your appearance looks more normal and ordinary than I ever expected while alive."
The God of Balance looked at Kay as if he was lost for words. However, Kay tried not to care about the God of Balance's gaze on him. And tried to act normal and hide his emotions as he blatantly observed the God of Balance.
The God of Balance in human form in front of him looked like a typical teenage boy. He was about one hundred and seventy to one hundred and eighty centimetres tall with a white shirt and black pants.
The god of balance had the same golden hair colour as his own, glowing white skin and also a body that was more muscular than his.
"Really? Ha, ha, ha-"
The god of balance laughed again. The sound of laughter that was both playful and stern at the same time rang clearly in Kay's ears.
Kay stared blankly at the God of Balance before he spoke in an indifferent voice.
"Do you have something to talk to me about?"
Kay's crimson eyes stared at the God of Balance questioningly. He recalled the words of the unfamiliar voice that spoke inside his head.
"Ah, you're right human. We have something important to talk about."
The God of Balance turned his body around, approached the empty desk in front of him and placed his hand right on the pile of documents towering above him.
The pile of documents disappeared as the God of Balance raised his hand leaving a mysterious paper on the table.
The God of Balance pulled out a chair that Kay had no idea where it came from and sat down nearby.
"I called you here because I want to make a deal with you. The desperate plea you uttered in your last
moments made even the heavens touched that I could hear it so clearly."
The God of Balance smiled, as he saw Kay's eyes tremble even though the human face before him remained calm.
As for Kay himself, confusion filled his head briefly. He looked back at the God of Balance with a look of anticipation.
For some reason, Kay felt the back of his head feel cold. The face of the God before him looked similar to the Crown Prince when he told Kay to do troublesome things during his lifetime.
"Are you speaking the truth? A god can't possibly commit a scam on a human who just died, right?"
The god of balance laughed again. He didn't think that the human he had always regarded as useless trash had such good instincts.
Kay had a new value in the eyes of the God of Balance. Kay didn't look like a trash. He looked like a human who was refusing to get involved in things that were troublesome and required him to do a lot of heavy work.
Yes perhaps, it was for that reason that even on the battlefield during his life he looked like someone who did his work half-heartedly.
"You turned out to be smarter than I thought."
The God of Balance gave a compliment that sounded like a ridicule to Kay. Even so Kay just took what the God of Balance said as a passing wind and shrugged his shoulders indifferently.
"This is an agreement, of course it's not free. There is a price you must pay if you want to realise the dream of the hero who sacrificed himself to save your life."
Kay clicked his tongue at the words of the God of balance who managed to irritate him for one reason.
Even so, Kay felt that this was worth trying. Whatever it was, as long as Kay had a chance to make Enzo's foolish wish for a peaceful life after the war was over could come true.
"What kind of deal is that?"
The God of Balance peered at Kay carefully and began to speak.
"I'll turn back time for you. It's exactly three years before the war starts and during that time do whatever you can to win the war without having to take a very long time. When the war ends then the Hero's wish to be able to live in peace for a long time becomes a reality."
Kay clicked his tongue again. What the God told him was simply telling him to do all the troublesome things to save the world. Kay would have to really work hard if it was like that.
It was just that, even if time was reset, Kay was just an ordinary human. The level of power he had with the Dark King was vastly different.
"Even so, for an ordinary human like me to do such a great thing is simply impossible."
Kay spoke honestly from any angle it was impossible for him. It was then that Kay who was speechlessly looking at the God before him raised the corners of his mouth.
"You don't need to worry, I will help you, just like the immortal flame magic power you have. I will get you to be able to possess other elemental magic that will be useful against the Dark King. I will help you even if it's not a direct favour."
The God of Balance laughed loudly again as he saw Kay smiling exactly like him.
"I guess you're interested in trying it out aren't you human?"
