Chapter 8 Ask Forgiveness

Mr. Harris parks his car in front of Megan's house. Lany opened the door for him. Liz is in the kitchen making pasta. Megan put out her cigarette on the holder.

"Megan, what is the important thing you want to talk about?" Mr. Harris asked.

They sit at the chair opposite each other.

"Mr. Harris, Leo wants to talk to you." Megan said.

"What does he want to talk about? My daughter? He is just feeding us a lies." Mr. Harris said.

"I understand your concerns. You have to talk to him, Mr. Harris. I don't know who's lying and telling truth about your daughter. You need to clear it for your sake." Megan said.

Mr. Harris stood up for a second and then went back to sit.

"I feel terrible. He is just making a same story and you believe it." Mr. Harris said.

"Same story? Did you know about her illness?" Megan asked.

"I've heard enough. It's all just a lies." Mr. Harris said.

"I don't think so. I know when someone is lying, I can see that. You need to learn the truth, Mr. Harris." Megan said.

"I am forbidden and cannot enter the portal anymore." Mr. Harris said.

"That's why I brought him." Megan said.

Leo went to the living room from hiding in the hall.

"Uncle Abraham." Leo said.

"Leo." Mr. Harris said.

There was a moment of silence.

"I know about my daughter's illness. But I refuse to believe that the virus killed her, it was the chip that end her life." Mr. Harris said.

"I was there, Uncle Abraham. I saw the surgery and the doctors was about to insert the chip when Sydney collapsed and had a seizure." Leo said.

Mr. Harris went to the window. He hid his teary eyes.

"My poor daughter. I couldn't save her." Mr. Harris said.

"It's not your fault, Mr. Harris." Megan said.

"I am a bad father. We already knew about the illness, we found a doctor to treat her but it said that my daughter life wouldn't last long." Mr. Harris said.

"But did you know that she died from illness?" Lany asked.

"I thought so at first, but the chip killed her. It was her last moment that I couldn't say anything to her." Mr. Harris said.

"I understand, now. The virus didn't killed her but the inhumanity." Megan said.

"If I could just get back the time. I'm really sorry, Uncle Abraham."

"It's too late. It's already been done." Megan said.

"Leo, I know that you're too young back then. It's not your fault. I vented all my anger to you. I didn't listen to your apology." Mr. Harris said.

"I'm sorry I couldn't save her. I just watch her to die. It's my fault. I put my fear before saving her." Leo said.

"It was ten years ago. The pain still here. The moments with my daughter, it's all in my heart. All I need is justice for her." Mr. Harris said.

"The doctors who operated her are already died because of the toxins at the laboratories. They all die and only few got save." Leo said.

"Thank god." Lany said.

"I'm glad to hear it." Megan said.

Liz went to the living room.

"Who needs some pasta?" Liz asked.

"That's a good aroma, Lizzy." Mr. Harris said.

"You'll be my honor, Mr. Harris." Liz said.

"It's dinner time." Lany said.

Only Megan and Leo were left in the living room. They went to the kitchen area with Mr. Harris.

"It's not your fault, Leo. I'm just saying." Megan said.

Leo looked at her. Megan tapped him on the back. She went to the kitchen. Leo smiled and joined them. It was a dramatic and great evening. Mr. Harris finally made peace with his nephew, Leo.

"I'm sorry, Uncle Abraham." Leo said.

"You've said that many times. It will be alright. I admit that I misunderstood you." Mr. Harris said.

"I understand your reasons. You want justice for her and it happened, Uncle Abraham." Leo said.

"How's Lorraine?" Mr. Harris asked with a sad tone.

"She's still at the hospital." Leo said.

"What happened?" Mr. Harris asked in panicked.

"She always had a bad fever. It's not that serious, she will recover soon." Leo said.

"When did you last see her, Mr. Harris?" Lany asked

"It was ten years ago since the last I saw her." Mr. Harris said.

"Ten years? How did you manage it?" Liz asked.

"Do you want to meet her?" Megan asked.

"I wish I could but it will just put her into danger." Mr. Harris said.

"Well, Leo has a way, right? Megan said.

Megan looked at him. He tried to avoid the contact, but he gave up.

"I'll open the portal. You can visit her anytime, Uncle Abraham." Leo said.

Mr. Harris stood up and went to hug Leo.

"Thank you." Mr. Harris said.

"It's the least I could do to pay for what I've done." Leo said.

They all went to the living room and it started to change. They are in Leo's house. Leo took a car with Mr. Harris. Megan, Liz, and Lany were in a separate car. They arrived at the exclusive hospital that looks like a stadium. When they went inside, the two nurses at the counter were shocked when they saw Leo.

"We're visiting my Aunt." Leo said.

"But of course, Mr. Leo." The nurse said.

They hopped in a transparent elevator. Leo pressed the 18th button. They arrived at the VIP room. An old lady with white hair is sleeping peacefully. Mr. Harris took a step and admired what he sees.

"Lorraine." Mr. Harris whispered.

Lorraine slowly opened her eyes. She was shocked and couldn't believe what she saw.

"Honey, is that you?" Lorraine asked.

"I'm here." Mr. Harris said.

It was a dramatic moment. They hugged each other. Lorraine cried, and Mr. Harris comforted her.

"I think I'm gonna cry." Lany said.

"Just let it out, buddy." Liz said.

Mr. Harris took his moment to talk to her.

"How did you open the portal, honey?" Lorraine asked.

"Leo did it." Mr. Harris said.

"I miss you so much." Lorraine said.

"You don't know how I miss you more. I love you, my dear Lorraine." Mr. Harris said.

"I love you, honey." Lorraine said.

Lorraine looked at them, and Mr. Harris introduced the three fellas.

"You're so beautiful, Megan." Lorraine said.

"She is." Leo said.

They looked at Leo with confusion.

"I mean, it's true right. Megan is beautiful." Leo said.

"I see that, buddy. You have sparkling in your eyes." Lany said.

"Oh shit, did you have a crush to my bestfriend?" Liz asked.

"Leo likes Megan. I can tell." Lorraine said.

"Do you want to date me, Leo?" Megan asked.

Leo is flabbergasted and his face is red.

"He's blushing." Lany said.

"I'm just tripping. You don't have to be so obvious, Leo." Megan said.

"Okay, I admit it. I like you since I first saw you." Leo said.

"Gotcha." Megan said.

"I should not have said that." Leo said.

"It's a trap dude, now we know you like Megan." Liz said.

"You look good together and I bet you're going to have handsome and beautiful children." Lorraine said.

"Yeah, yeah, I agree with it." Lany said.

"That's too far. Having kids is not on my list." Megan said.

"Why not?" Leo said.

"You should marry her, Leo." Lorraine said.

"Oh I'm in for that. Come on, Cous. Just get married." Lany said.

"I'm gonna be emotionally right now, I can't believe you're getting married, Meg. I'm so proud of you." Liz said.

"Nobody's getting married." Megan said.

"I'm just practicing." Liz said.

"Take care of Megan, Leo. Don't do the same mistake I did." Mr. Harris said.

"We're not in a relationship, Mr. Harris. It's a joke." Megan said.

"Well, I can see that Leo is serious about you." Mr. Harris said.

Leo is looking serious at Megan. Lany and Liz started teasing them. Mr. Harris bid goodbye to Lorraine while crying. They all left and went back to Leo's house.

"What would you name to your kid if it's a boy?" Lany asked.

"Maybe after my brother's name." Megan said sarcastically.

"What if it's a girl?" Liz asked.

"Okay, that's enough." Megan said.

"What if it's a twin?" Mr. Harris said.

"Nice one, Mr. Harris." Liz said.

"Welcome to the group!" Lany said.

Leo went in front of Megan.

"That's not gonna happen." Megan said.

"I didn't say anything." Leo said.

Megan rolled her eyes at him, and Leo smiled.

"We should get back to our world." Mr. Harris said.

Leo tried to catch up Megan, but they suddenly vanished. They were sent back to their world.
