"What are you doing here?" Emily asked Jamie

"Ah....uhmm I saw you were leaving by yourself and i thought i should walk you home, it's getting late you know." Jamie trying to explain himself.

"Thank you, it's very sweet and it's was a really interesting class again today i learned a lot." Emily said

"I'm glad you like it. You know, uhmmm when i was doing research on copyright infringement, i saw this one particular article saying........" they talked while Jamie walking her home through the quite street.

Quin on the other said was calling Emily number but she wasn't responding to any of his calls.Quin pulled up to Emily's apartment. As he turned the corner, he noticed Emily walking down the street with Jamie. They were laughing and chatting, completely carefree.

Quin's eyes narrowed, a pang of jealousy hitting him unexpectedly. Who was Jamie to Emily?

He slowed down, watching from a distance as Emily and Jamie walked together. They seemed so comfortable, so at ease with each other.

"Emily"Quin called out her name.

"Quin."

"Who are you and what are you doing with my wife?! Quin asked Jamie.

"Heyyyy, Jamie was walking me home." Emily said to Quin.

"Wait, are you married?! Jamie asked Emily.

Quin replied without hesitation

"Yes! She is! and good night.

"Wait uhhhh, I just wanted to make sure your wife got home safe when no one was even there to pick her up, so you're welcome buddy. Jamie said to Quin.

"Heyyy, stop it the both of you. Jamie bye and thanks again." Emily said

"Bye." Jamie responded to Emily and left the both of them.

"What are you still doing outside this late?" Quin asked Emily.

"Nothing." Emily answered Quin.

"I remember telling you, you are not supposed to be this or see another man as long as our contract is effective." Quin said angrily to Emily.

"But what is the matter with you Quin? Jamie is the instructor for my law class, okay! He was just walking me home." Emily said.

"Ohhhh so you don't realize your husband is the number one lawyer in the industry and you turned to some other guy for help when you could have asked me?" Quin grip on Emily's wrist tightened as he spoke in a low, urgent tone.

Emily's eyes widened, trying to wriggle free from Quin's grasp.

Quin's expression faltered, his grip loosening as he searched Emily's face. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them palpable.

Then, Quin released Emily's wrist, his voice barely above a whisper. "F**k did I hurt you, let me see I'm sorry". I don't know what's wrong with me."

Emily rubbed her wrist, her face was reddened, her eyes never leaving Quin's face. "You have no right to tell me what to do okay? I thought that you cared about me more and than you are giving out some terms and obligations, but I say this clearly i am just a contract."

Quin's eyes dropped, his shoulders sagging in defeat. "Em...Emily.....wait....wait Emily please don't go" Quin said while running after her.

"Just let go of me Quin."

"I'm sorry okay? I just, I didn't want to see you with another guy." Quin said.

"I'm not an object that you just own Quin okay? You don't get to decide for me who my friends are." Emily said.

"I'm worried about you okay? That's it, besides i want to treat you like my real wife not just a contract partner, I'm sorry I should not have acted like a jerk back there, i shouldn't have lose myself like that, that wasn't me." Quin said

Emily winced with every step, her feet throbbing in protest, but now regretted not wearing more comfortable shoes.

"Hey, Emily, what's wrong? Are you, are you hurt. You look like you're in pain."

"My feet are killing me." Emily said in pain.

Quin's expression softened, and he quickly carried her to the car in a princess style. "I'll take you home."

Emily gratefully accepted, sinking into the passenger seat as Quin drove the short distance to her apartment.

Once inside, Quin helped Emily onto the couch and gently removed her shoes. Emily hissed as he touched her sore feet, but Quin's gentle hands made her feel at ease.

"I'll get some ice and bandages," Quin said, disappearing into the kitchen.

Emily watched him move, feeling a sense of gratitude towards this complex, sometimes infuriating, but always caring man.

Quin returned with a bowl of ice water and gently soaked Emily's feet, his fingers massaging away the pain. Emily closed her eyes, feeling her tension melt away.

As Quin tended to her wounds, "Emily, you need to take it easy next few days."

"That would be cheating okay? I want to beat Tina fair and square." Emily said to Quin in a childish manner.

"Okay fine, you can still go to your class. But on one condition, you let me drive you there and I'll pick you up when you are done. Otherwise I'll be worried."

"Alright deal." Why did you come here tonight by the way?

" I actually came to ask you if you wanted to move in with me." Quin said.
