Chapter 10 Rivals

Emily walked into the office, feeling a sense of normalcy wash over her. She had missed her routine and was eager to dive back into work. As she settled at her desk, a familiar face popped up from across the room.

Emily smiled, "is there anything i can help you with Tina?"

Tina plopped down in the chair beside Emily's desk, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Just a friendly reminder now that Miss Molly's back don't bother flirting with the boss anymore he won't even look at you now."

"Wait, Molly? Emily asked.

"Ohh yess, Quin specifically asked for her to come back. Unlike you, she has the looks and the skills.

Molly interrupted their conversation with her greeting.

"Ohh Emily, what a surprise, that guy Quin he insisted that i help with the company. But he didn't even mention that you work in this company as well." Molly said.

"Why would Quin tell you about Emily?" Tina asked Molly.

"Oh you don't know? Well Emily ........

"Molly, what a surprise it is nice to see you here. I was just dropping off a file to the boss the other day." Emily interrupted molly.

Molly walked close to Emily and whispered into her ears. "So nobody in this company knows about your marriage?"

"Yeah that's right. So please just don't say anything okay?"

"I see, don't worry about it, I won't say a word.

Then she continued the conversation with Tina.

"So Emily, since you are new in this company, why don't you go clean my office."

"What." Emily shouted.

"Yeah."

"Alright." Emily said and walked away.

"Girl aren't you just amazing. That bitch always forgets her place. You're going to teach her a great lesson." Tina said.

"Keep an eye on her, if anything pops up let me know okay? Molly said to Tina.

They both walked away.

"I knew it, Quin doesn't even like that woman. Keeping the marriage a secret now? It's my perfect chance." Molly said to herself.

Molly brought out her cell phone and dailed a number.

"Hey can you get me the most potent aphrodisiac you can find, I'm going to get Quin back once and for all.

Emily continued cleaning the office, her mind wandering back to Quin and Molly's past. She pushed the vacuum cleaner across the floor, lost in thoughts. "So what? What if Quin still has feelings for her.

Quin walked into the Molly's office , looking for Molly . He expected to find her at her desk, "Molly about the M corporation...but instead, he saw Emily kneeling on the floor, surrounded by cleaning supplies. She looked up, startled, as he approached.

"Hey, Emily what are you doing?" Quin asked, surprised to see Emily cleaning.

Emily smiled, looking a bit flustered. "Sorry your Molly isn't here right now it's just me."

Quin's eyes narrowed slightly as he walked closer to her, "no she's not mine. The only one here who i belong to me is you."

Emily's cheeks flushed, "there's no one here to see us, so you can just drop the act."

Quin raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. "I mean, I don't know what have gone into you ever since Molly's came back. You're not jealous are you?"

Emily's eyes dropped, and she fidgeted with the cleaning supplies. "I see you as my boss. What's there to be jealous of?"

Quin's eyes locked onto Emily's, his gaze intense. He grabbed her hands, his touch sending shivers down her spine. Slowly, he placed them on his chest, his heart beating steadily beneath her palms.

"Heyyyy, stop it! Somebody could walk in and see us."

"Feel that?" Quin whispered, his voice low and husky. "My heart beats for you, Emily. Not for anyone else. You're the one I want to be with. I'm the boss and you're the boss's wife that means nothing we do is off limits."

Molly walked in..... "what are you two doing in my office?"

"I was just cleaning the office but I'll leave you two alone." Emily said and left the both of them.

"Quin this is a public workspace shouldn't we keep it a bit discreet."

"Molly, I'm not worried about it look. I love Emily okay? I don't want her to feel uncomfortable because of me and stop giving her these cleaning assignment okay! That's not her job."

"Well, i though it's normal for interns to clean offices rookie duties?

"Molly if i ever catch you doing it again i might have to reconsider my decision to hire you."

"Quin I'm sorry, it's just every time I look into your eyes it reminds me of my father and can't stand to imagine him looking at me disappointed."

"Look if i was harsh i apologize, but you do have to understand i see you like my sister and i want you to see Emily as your sister in law." Quin said and walked away from Molly's office.

Molly phone buzzed, it was Tina calling.

"Heyy Molly? I just wanted to mention that Emily goes to a training class every night and she seems pretty close to the instructor.

After the training class Jamie run up to Emily.

"Emily, I just remembered your husband Quin is the top lawyer in the industry right? Did he give you hard time?" Jamie asked Emily.

"No, why."

"That's good uhmm he didn't come to pick you up today,though he didn't care about you anymore and plus he looked really mad that day, I was worried he might hurt you."

"Look i didn't ask him to pick me up, he's busy and i didn't want to bother him besides he has been taking care of a friend lately so he probably doesn't have much time for me anyways."
