Chapter 4 He Valued Her a Lot

She must do her best to let him know that she really loved him a lot.

She genuinely wanted to be with him forever.

Frederick brought her to a high-end Chinese restaurant.

She pushed the menu to him.

Although she had been to this restaurant and knew what dishes she wanted, but she realized that she didn't know what Frederick's favorite dishes were. This restaurant happened to have a variety of menus, and it was filled with all sorts of unique dishes. For the same dish, one might enjoy it, but it might not be the case for the other.

She wanted to slowly get to know his preferences.

He took the menu without a word and ordered about seven to eight dishes in silence.

The dishes were served on the table and Sheryl's heart sank.

She wanted him to order the dishes because she was curious about his favorite dishes. However, most of the dishes on the table were her favorites.

Frederick was really nice to her...

Sheryl blinked her eyes, forcing back the moisture in her eyes. Reaching out her chopsticks, she tasted the two new dishes that she hadn't seen before. Thinking about it, this must be his favorite, right?

As for the taste, it was... amazing.

She failed to hold back her tears, and her eyes turned red again.

"What, you don't like it?" he looked at her with a slight frown.

She shook her head, with the urge to slap herself and smooth out the frown in his brows. "I like it, I like it... Frederick, do you like it as well?"

"What do you mean?"

"You haven't touched your chopsticks yet."

He didn't know what was going on, but he still picked up the chicken wing and the wooden chopsticks. The moment he touched the food, he suddenly looked up at her and asked, "Sheryl, do you... care about me?"

Never had she cared for him. Never in before...

Even in this current situation, it was rare that they were at peace with each other.

Is Sheryl changing her strategy?

"Yes." He saw her biting her lips and nodding like she was being sincere.

It must be an act.

He put his chopsticks back onto the table. "Sheryl, I don't care what you're up to, but you're not going to succeed! Because I'm not going to agree."

Done with his words, he got up and left.

She looked at his back and sighed. Of course, she knew that she was too hasty and direct when it came to the reconciliation of the relationship between them.

Take it easy, moving forward one step at a time, and improve it in a steady manner.

After engulfing half of the food on the table, she returned to the Lance Family Home.

The Lance Family Home was their wedding house. The location was good and the area was large. The interior was all designed according to her preferences. Even the bedroom was a complete copy of her bedroom at her parents' house.

Needless to say, Frederick had spent a lot of effort on this matter. Unfortunately, her past self was ignorant and had always treated this place like a prison, avoiding it as much as possible.

When she returned to her bedroom, her cell phone rang.

It was from Julia Simons.

When she answered the phone, Julia's tender and delicate voice rang out.

"Sheryl, where are you now?"

"I'm at the Lance Family Home."

"The Lance Family Home, the one that Frederick prepared for you?"

"Is there another Lance Family Home?"

"Sheryl, how can you go back there? If you do this, aren't you getting along with Frederick day and night? How are you going to escape from him?"

"Why would I want to escape?" the corner of Sheryl's lips curled into a smile and a hint of puzzlement was found in her tone. "Julia, you always told me that Frederick is a very vicious person and even if he treats me well now, it's only temporary. You told me William Gates is the one who actually treats me well, that he's the one for me, but now... I'm still not sure if Frederick is good, but I've already fallen out of love with William.

I've tried so hard for him, but now that I'm engaged, he still hasn't said or done a thing."
