Chapter 10 Did You Have A Plastic Surgery

The next morning.

She woke up in a daze, and the light stung her eyes. Frederick wasn't around, and she thought to herself that he might be at work now.

When she washed up, she felt a little hungry, so she went downstairs in her pajamas.

However, it appeared that Frederick was having breakfast downstairs. Besides, an uninvited guest had come to the house early in the morning.

The guest Richard Gates was Frederick's working partner as well as one of his best friends in this world.

At this moment, he was sitting next to Frederick, complaining without a care in the world.

"Frederick, as your good brother, I really can't stand it anymore! Look at that fiancée of yours, she's still hanging out after getting engaged, while you continue to act so loyally to her. Are you playing the role of a good husband? But no matter how well you act, she's not going to acknowledge you either, right?!"

It would be fine if he stopped there, but he never stopped talking. The more he said, the more vigorous he became.

"I've heard that your fiancee went outside every day while you stayed at home alone. I don't understand, it is usually the men that go out to have fun, how is it the opposite in this household?"

However, Frederick just ate his breakfast calmly. No matter what Richard said, he didn't budge.

Richard felt exasperated and couldn't help but sigh deeply. "Sighs! Did that woman hypnotize you or something? What are you so stubborn about? There's a large ocean of fish out there with all kinds of species for you to choose, yet you had to settle down with a lousy fish. What a waste!"

He spoke so vigorously that he didn't notice that Sheryl was already standing behind him all this time.

Until he heard her cold voice as she uttered, "Who's a lousy fish?"

"Oh shoot!" he was shocked. "Who's that? You nearly scared me to death."

Turning around, he saw her standing behind her, but the look in his eyes was as if he'd seen a ghost. "You? Don't tell me you're Sheryl?"

"If I'm not Sheryl, then who is?"

She raised her chin slightly and looked at him coldly. She looked a little boastful, but with a hint of cheekiness and cuteness.

He was completely dumbfounded. Was this actually Sheryl? That's impossible. He could never forget the punk-like Sheryl with leopard-print stockings and a crocodile skin coat... The Sheryl who had such a unique taste..."

But this morning, she looked like a cute and innocent little princess. In addition to her extremely beautiful face, she seemed like a fairy from another world.

"Hey, did you visit Korea for plastic surgery? Are you the same Sheryl that I've seen?" he said as he reached out his hand to pinch her face to see if it was real or not.

She immediately slapped his hand away. "You! You are the one that went to Korea."

He chuckled and changed the topic casually. "But, why are you at home?"

Hearing this, she pouted and retorted, "What a strange question, what's wrong with me being at home? This is our engagement house, do you a problem with that?"

After saying that, she glared at him as she went over to Frederick's side.

Her tiny mouth mumbled, "Frederick, don't listen to his nonsense. It's a wide ocean out there, but there's no fish better than me."

Her meek tone sounded like she was trying to curry favor with him.

Richard opened his eyes wide in disbelief. Was this still the bossy young lady he knew?

"Damn! Sheryl, is there something wrong with my ears, or is there something wrong with your brain? Come, let me see. Did you hit something? Did it damage your mind? You've changed so much like you've become a different person!"

He then turned around to Frederick and spoke earnestly, "It's not that I'm worried, brother, but I think you should take her to the hospital right away. Although she has a bad temper, she's still your girlfriend. Don't be silly."

Hearing this, she immediately became angry and stood up arrogantly. "Richard Gates, do you have a death wish?"

However, before she could continue throwing a fit, Frederick spoke gently. "You guys should enjoy your breakfast in peace. Stop arguing."

With his words comforting her, she suppressed her temper and sat down obediently. She was like a well-behaved cat that had been tamed by its owner.

Richard looked at her in awe. He did not know what was happening and felt odd.

Is this really Sheryl Taylor? Could it be that she's been replaced?

After breakfast, Frederick and Richard went to the company.

Sheryl happily saw them out, but before they left, she enthusiastically said: "Frederick, I'll be waiting for you to come back for dinner tonight."

He didn't say anything and only gave a slight nod of his head.

On the other side, Richard was very confused. The moment he got on the car, he grabbed hold of Frederick and asked, "Frederick, what's going on? Why does it seem like her personality had changed a lot?"

Frederick slightly opened his thin lips and replied: "I don't know."

Richard was bewildered. "No, how could you not know?"

Frederick couldn't help but feel helpless. "Ever since the engagement night, she's become like this. As for the reason, perhaps only she knows."

"Is that so..." Hearing the answer, Richard secretly pondered for a while.

In the end, he firmly said to Frederick, "I think you should still be careful. We're all familiar with that personality of hers. Who knows what she's up to this time? You can't trust her so easily!"

When he heard this, he didn't say anything more and drove straight to the company.

Sheryl too knew that she had lost all of his trust in the past, and it wasn't an easy task for her to regain his trust.

However, she would not give up no matter what.

After breakfast, she dressed up and went to school.

She was in her senior year this year and was facing a graduate. Speaking of her grades, this was probably her weak point. Because of her poor grades, if she wanted to graduate safely, she had to study harder for sure.

Thinking back, Julia had always been suppressing her with her outstanding results.

Every time they were together, there would be a sharp contrast between them. One was a good girl who worked hard, and the other was a daughter from a rich family who was ignorant and incompetent.

But no matter what, she was about to graduate from university. Sheryl thought to herself that she could go to the Lance Group Inc for an internship during her intern period, and would directly enter the Lance Group Inc for work right after graduating.

Therefore she would be able to see Frederick every day, and she wouldn't let go of any chance to spend time with him.

Apart from that, she could also effectively avoid Julia's suppression. What was there to be unhappy about?
