"The prophecy says when the protectors and the bearers combine. You guys are the bearers," she pointed at Alpha Peter, "And you guys are the protectors." She pointed at Alpha Joshua. "The prophecy needed the Protectors and bearers to combine which only happened now because Red Crescent Pack was destroyed."
She added looking at Alpha Joshua, "Everything that happened to your pack was so the prophecy could be fulfilled."
Alpha Joshua stiffened, his body tensed. He clenched and unclenched his fist as he gritted his teeth. He was upset. Who wouldn't be upset when an unborn child was manipulating adults to do her bidding?
"Protectors?" He scoffed. "Why would I protect someone who destroyed my pack?" Alpha Joshua spat.
"She did not set your pack on fire. The rogues did that. Everything just happened in her favor. It is fate."
"That doesn't make any sense." Theodore finally voiced out. "Then why did the rogues attack Red Crescent Pack? It makes no sense that rogues would want to risk their lives like that. Was it because of the prophecy too?"
All werewolves, including rogues, were aware that the Red Crescent Pack was off-limit. The Pack killed every trespasser on the spot. Even Savages tend to stay clear from the area.
So why would a group of them attack Red Crescent when they knew that what awaited them was imminent death? It didn't add up.
"Even if the rogues did not set the fire, something else would have brought the Red Crescent Pack to us. It was inevitable."
"So, why did the rogues attack then?"
Seer Olive threw a glare at Theodore, annoyed by his questions. "Do I look like the moon goddess to you? How do you expect me to know that?"
"But you are a Seer-"
"Exactly, I see snippets of the future, not read minds. I don't know what the rogues think."
"I apologize." Theodore sighed in resignation. He didn't know why the issue bothered him so much. Something deep down told him it was because his mate was injured by the rogues but he didn't want to believe it.
If they could just find out what pushed the rogues to go on a suicide mission, Theodore was positive they would solve the mystery behind this case.
"I have to go and check up on Jamie." The Luna announced before she practically fled the room. Everybody understood. She just found out that her child could be the reincarnation of the moon goddess. It was a lot to take in.
"I have to go too. It's time for my siesta." Seer Olive stood up.
"But it's eleven thirty-" Alpha Joshua checked his watch.
"Shut up, boy." Seer Olive scowled at him.
The Alpha did not know whether he should be angry or amused. It was the first time someone, other than his mate and sister, told him to shut up.
He glanced at Alpha Peter and Theodore for help but they were enjoying his conflicted expression. They were trying to fight the smile on their faces.
"I apologize?" It sounded more like a question.
A snort rang across the room. Peter could no longer fight his smile. Theodore joined in the laughter making Alpha Joshua scowl at them.
"Delinquents. No respect for elders." Seer Olive murmured as she walked to the door. She only stopped when she saw that Rhea was not following her.
Rhea was staring at the wolf painting in the office, intently. This was unusual since this was not the first time she had seen it. She had been to the Alpha's office numerous times with her grandmother.
She suddenly pinched her nose. "This painting smells bad." She muttered as her face morphed into a frown.
The others stuck their nose and sniffed the air. Everything smelled alright to them. They would have detected any unusual smell immediately they stepped into the office.
They all exchange confused glances.
"Rhea, let us go. The painting smells fine." Seer Olive pulled Rhea along to the door.
"But grandma, it smells nasty," Rhea argued.
Seer Olive ignored her and kept pulling her to the door but her steps were interrupted once again.
"What about the guardian?" Alpha Joshua asked. "The prophecy says something about a guardian. Who is it?"
They turned to Seer Olive who had a deep look on her face, her eyes were lost in space.
"When the time comes, we will find out." Then she left the room with her granddaughter training behind her.
The air in the room became heavy. The gravity of Seer Olive's words sank into their hearts. This was a serious issue, one that could not be taken lightly.
The child of prophecy would not need protectors if there wasn't a threat on the way. Something big was coming. They could feel it.
"Let us keep this a secret for now. We still haven't found out who the traitor is or what the rogues are after," Alpha Peter announced. "It's best we don't scare the Pack."
Theodore nodded, "Is that all, Alpha?"
"Yes, the meeting is dismissed." Alpha Joshua was the first to leave the room. He had to make sure his Pack members were settling in fine and not causing any trouble.
Only the Alpha and Beta remained.
"Are you alright?" Peter questioned Theodore. "You have been behaving strangely after you found your mate. What's wrong?"
Theodore chuckled. Of course, the Alpha noticed his attitude. They were best friends after all.
"Don't tell me you are still thinking about that girl?" Peter added. "Look, the moon goddess has given you a lovely and strong mate. Don't ruin it."
He then stood up and left, leaving Theodore all alone in the room.
