Chapter 7 Invitation Letter

After paying their respects, Charlotte and the others shortly left the cemetery. Then, they received news about the government organizing a welcome banquet for the God of War.

The information spread like wildfire, making everyone throughout the city excited.

Everyone knew it would be the most prestigious event in all of Bayhedge.

"I really want to see what the God of War looks like! It would be great if we could attend this banquet!" Caroline said, almost swooning over the thought of it.

"Had we not been kicked out of the Pierce family, we might've had a chance! But for now, it's best not to think about it," Julian commented with a helpless sigh.

"There will probably be a lot of big shots all over Bayhedge who'll be attending this banquet. Just knowing one of them would've been a huge advantage for us!" Hazel chimed in while shaking her head in regret.

Charlotte looked at her family members and pursed her lips.

Although she also wanted to attend the God of War's banquet, she knew it was only something she could dream of.

After all, given their status, the God of War's banquet was not something they could freely go to.

After a short lull, Charlotte's phone rang.

When she glanced at her screen, she saw a strange landline number calling her.

Confused about what this call might be about, Charlotte answered her phone.

A few seconds into the phone call, Charlotte's eyes widened in shock. "What did you say? Our whole family is invited to the God of War's welcome party tomorrow?" she exclaimed.

After a short pause on her end, she replied, "Okay, okay! We'll attend!"

With a beaming smile, Charlotte hung up the phone and quickly told her family they were invited to the God of War's banquet.

"What? That's amazing!" Caroline pulled in Charlotte for a hug, her face bright with delight. "That means I have to dress up nicely tomorrow!"

Julian and Hazel were even more thrilled. "Is that really true?" they asked Charlotte, wanting to confirm if what they had heard was correct.

When Charlotte nodded, Julian and Hazel almost burst in happiness, their eyes welling in joy.

None of them even dared to imagine that their family would receive an invitation to the God of War's welcome banquet. It was truly a wish come true.

"No time to waste! Let's hurry home and get ready!"

Under Hazel's urging, Charlotte and the others quickly returned home.

Noah didn't accompany them. Instead, after saying goodbye to Charlotte, he found a temporary place to stay.

With an event like the God of War's welcome banquet, Charlotte and her family knew they had to be at their best. Thus, they spent the entire day carefully preparing.

Aside from wearing custom-made dresses that they rarely got to wear, they also adorned themselves with luxurious accessories that Hudson had sent earlier.

Charlotte, at Caroline's strong insistence, even spent a lot of money to hire one of the best makeup artists in Bayhedge.

Ever since they were kicked out of the Pierce family, this was probably the most they had splurged as a family.

They weren't afraid of wasting their money or time. Rather, they were more scared that they might not be adequately prepared for this event and miss an opportunity that might change the trajectory of their family's fate.

On the evening of the God of War's welcome banquet, Charlotte's family arrived early at the Charles Grand Hotel. They stood by the entrance, eagerly awaiting the start of the event.

From the outside, they could see that the hotel's interior was bathed in light. It had wide walls and high ceilings, and its floors were covered with a vibrant carpet that was of the highest quality.

The main entrance was embellished with a magnificent flowerbed containing freshly bloomed flowers of different colors, filling the air with a delightful scent.

There was also a fountain specially made for the God of War. Its bubbling sound created a serene atmosphere while providing moisture to the surrounding vegetation.

Tonight, the God of War would personally come to this hotel, the highest-rated one in all of Bayhedge. Here, he would accept the hospitality of all the big shots in Bayhedge hailing from different fields.

Charlotte observed the other guests and their exquisite dresses. Charlotte and her family were all nervous, but they knew they had to maintain a calm and composed appearance.

From the crowd, Caroline spotted a man wearing casual attire. It was Noah.

"Damn it! Why is this loser here! And look at what he's wearing. It's so cheap!"

Seeing that Noah was approaching them, Caroline gnashed her teeth and shouted in disgust, "Noah! What are you? A dog? Is your nose so sensitive that you found us all the way here?"

Noah walked to Charlotte's side and calmly said to Caroline, "Well, your perfume is so strong that I can smell it half a block away."

This only further infuriated Caroline. She stomped her feet on the ground and gritted her teeth harder until her jaw clattered.

"That's it! I'm going to call security and ask you to be kicked out!" she shouted.

When Charlotte saw that Caroline actually took out her phone and was dialing a number, she panicked and ran to her side. Not wanting to cause a scene, she told Caroline, "But the banquet is about to start! Just let Noah come with us. Before the God of War arrives, it would be better if we don't attract unnecessary attention to ourselves."

Caroline let out a contemptuous snort before putting away her phone.

"Consider yourself lucky today! Follow us inside later. At least you'll have the chance to broaden your horizons. Just remember not to speak out of turn!" Julian said to Noah, wagging his finger at him.

Noah shrugged and ignored their grumblings. In his mind, he was thinking that if it weren't for him, these people wouldn't even be allowed to step foot in this hotel.

But at the same time, he also understood that, at this point, the members of the Pierce family wouldn't believe anything that came out of his mouth.

So, he just silently stood on the side, waiting for Charlotte and her family to enter the venue.

As the scheduled start of the banquet approached, Julian, with his family behind him, led the charge and strode towards the hotel's entrance.

However, as they were about to enter the venue, a voice rang out from behind.

"Stop! Do you even have an invitation? How dare you come to a place like this!"

The voice belonged to Clara, the head of the Pierce family.

Clara stood with her hands on her waist as she glared at Charlotte's family. The disdain in her face was plain to see.

Behind Clara were many of the Pierce family members, including Kane.

"Invitation?" Julian paused for a while, looking confused. "We... We just received an invitation by phone..."

He didn't know how to respond to this.

"Invitation by phone?" Kane scoffed. "What a joke! All the guests in this banquet are required to show an invitation letter to enter!"

"You brainless folks didn't fall for some phone call scam and then happily run here without a second thought, did you?" Kane sneered.

Upon learning that an invitation letter was necessary to attend the banquet, Charlotte and her family suddenly became confused.

Was it possible that they were deceived by a phone call scam?

While the members of Charlotte's family were at a loss for words, Noah decided to speak up.

"We don't need an invitation letter to get in," he declared.

Hearing this, Clara turned to Noah and stared blankly at him for a while.

Even the other members doubted their ears and thought they had misheard.

"What nonsense are you talking about? If you enter without invitation, you're essentially breaking in! I bet you'll be kicked out like a pack of stray dogs in no time!" Kane mocked them.

Noah simply rolled his eyes at him and didn't say a word.

With everyone's eyes on him, he grabbed Charlotte's hand and confidently walked towards the hotel lobby.
