Chapter 10 God of War

"Everyone, raise your heads," Noah told the numerous high-ranking officials of Bayhedge who were bowing at him. Despite their presence, he remained composed, with his smile remaining intact.

"Someone, ask this fat pig what he was up to by taking me here!" he ordered.

Like clockwork, all of the officials turned their eyes to Aiden.

"Did you bring Mr. Reed here? What did you want to do with him?"

The mayor, Carlos Steele, was the first one to speak. He looked at Aidan, who was trembling uncontrollably, and shot him a serious glare. "Don't you realize that with your status, you are not qualified to meet with the God of War on your own?"

At the mention of the words "God of War", Aidan's jaw fell.

"Wait... You... You are the God of War?" he asked in disbelief, his eyes almost popping out of their sockets as he stared at Noah.

Never did he imagine that the reason for tonight's banquet was because of this man in front of him. It turned out that the God of War was none other than Noah.

Suddenly, he recalled everything that he had said prior to this discovery, and in an instant, he felt his world collapse.

Desperate for any kind of redemption, Aidan collapsed to his knees and knelt in front of Noah.

"God of War, Lord God of War! I apologize deeply! This is all my fault. I was blind. I didn't recognize you for who you are!"

Aidan then began crawling closer to Noah until he reached his legs. Then, he looked up and clutched Noah's thighs.

"Please spare me! I have parents, a wife, and children waiting for me, relying on me for support!"

Despite his pleas, Noah was untouched. His eyes turned ice-cold as he said, "Forgive you? A person like you isn't fit to hold any government position!"

With one fluid motion, Noah kicked Aidan, the force causing him to launch backwards.

"Tell the guards to drag this man out and break one of his hands. From now on, he's no longer allowed to hold any position within the government!" Noah commanded.

"Yes, sir!" Carlos responded loudly.

Without hesitation, Carlos personally went out to fetch the guards standing by the door.

Once they were in the room, the guards saluted Noah before dragging Aidan's sobbing figure out of the room.

"N-No, no! God of War! Please spare me! I beg you! I know what I did was wrong!" Aidan cried, his voice cracking due to the overwhelming despair that had taken over him. Right now, he looked like a fat pig being led to the slaughterhouse.

Inside the room, no one dared to utter a plea for mercy.

When the God of War himself had issued a punishment, who would dare to ask for mercy? That would be courting death!

"Let's go. The banquet is about to start," Noah said, urging the other dignitaries to follow him out. "I don't want to linger here any longer and waste any more time."

With that, Noah left the room, with the Bayhedge dignitaries following behind him.

Now, it was time for him to reveal his true identity to his wife.

But at that moment, Charlotte was still worried sick after she saw Aidan take Noah away.

"Charlotte, you seem quite concerned about that loser, Noah," Tommy mocked upon seeing Charlotte's worry-stricken face. "But don't worry too much! Tonight is the God of War's welcome banquet. I'm sure Aidan wouldn't cause anything that might be fatal. At best, he might find someone to cripple Noah. Maybe take away his eyes or cut off one of his legs or something."

In Tommy's eyes, Noah daring to attend the God of War's welcome banquet by using his past connections was simply him inching closer to death.

Fortunately, he came here today with Aidan. If he hadn't, he wouldn't have had this chance to exact his revenge on Noah.

He was certain that with Aidan, a high-ranking official, taking action, Noah wouldn't leave here unscathed.

Tommy's words echoed in Charlotte's mind, worsening the panic in her heart.

"Charlotte, I'll give you a chance," Tommy said with a grin as he took a glass of champagne and placed it near his crotch. "Kneel before me, crawl over here like a good girl, and then finish this glass of wine. If you do this, maybe I'll consider letting Noah off. Otherwise, once I'm done with Noah, perhaps the next people I'll punish will be you, your sister, your parents, and even your daughter!"

It was these words that finally made Charlotte snap. Her blood boiled as her face turned red in anger.

But at the same time, she knew she was powerless in this situation.

After being expelled from the Pierce family, her family could no longer afford to provoke high-ranking officials like Aidan.

Charlotte gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. She didn't want her family to be punished all because of Noah.

"I... I understand. I hope you keep your word," Charlotte said, her head sunk. She swallowed the lump in her throat and pursed her lips as she slowly kneeled down.

When Tommy saw that Charlotte was agreeing to his demands, he couldn't help but laugh out loud.

He knew Charlotte would surrender to him for the sake of her family.

But before Charlotte's knees could touch the floor, a man's voice rang out from behind.

"Charlotte! Don't kneel!"
