"I will take everything I once lost back with my own hands!" Noah Reed vowed to himself. Four years ago, his family abandoned him and he became homeless. He had nowhere else to go and wandered on the streets for a long time. When he was down and out, a gorgeous and kind angel, Charlotte Pierce showed up and helped him. One thing led to another and they soon became husband and wife. The first few months of their marriage weren't easy. Noah felt less of a man because he couldn't cater for her. He decided to join the army just to become more worthy of her. After four years of active service, he made great achievements during wars and was awarded the highest honors. Noah was now at the finish line of the race at becoming a better man. But to his greatest surprise, he found out that Charlotte's parents were forcing her to remarry. Her parents had no regard for him. With all firmness, he vowed again, "I'll not lose anything precious to me again. I swear to protect our love. I, Noah Reed, will take back everything that I lost. All those who ridiculed me and wrote me off will bite their fingers in regret when my true identity is revealed!" And so, Noah embarked on another journey-one of revenge and fighting for love.

Chapter 1 God Of War Returns!

"Noah! Where the hell are you? I can't hold on much longer! My family forced me to get engaged to Tommy Fernandez. It's been four years since you left. If you don't come back, then I... I really don't want to live anymore!"

A message, only a few dozen characters, yet filled with a sense of despair, traveled across eight thousand miles of land and arrived at the battlefield on Doriland's border.

Today was the day that Noah, the supreme commander of the Doriland Legion, was crowned the title of God of War.

After this day, Noah would officially retire and leave the battlefield.

On the training ground, countless military personnel gathered to bid farewell to Noah.

Everyone present held a deep admiration for Noah, their eyes burning with fervor as they watched in awe at this man in a military suit standing at the center of the square.

From where they stood, Noah was like a supreme god who had descended to this world.

"This is... the message from Charlotte." Noah stared at his phone, his face brimming with rage.

After four years of endless warfare, the last thing he expected was to receive a distress message from his wife as soon as he reopened his phone.

"Stop the coronation ceremony! I need to go back to Bayhedge as soon as possible!" Noah ordered in a deep voice.

"Yes, General!"

The adjutant quickly took out a military walkie-talkie and relayed the command.

Within just four seconds, a black combat aircraft with a special code landed in the center of the square, a tremendous roar marking its arrival.

"That's the general's exclusive fighter!" one of the soldiers in the crowd exclaimed. "It's the latest and top-of-the-line model, the only one in existence in all of Doriland!"

"Silence!" a commander shushed, his voice booming like a distant thunder. "No one is allowed to talk!"

As the commander issued the edict, the well-disciplined soldiers quickly restored the peace and quiet in the area.

Under everyone's gaze, Noah slowly ascended the fighter, which cost up to 20 billion dollars.

As the engine roared to life, the fighter slowly lifted off the ground and ascended into the air.

Every soldier on the square wore a stern expression. Even without a command, they all saluted and bode their farewell to Noah.

With six other white fighter jets accompanying it, Noah's fighter jet quickly left the border and flew towards the distance.

"Charlotte! I'm coming back to see you now!" Noah cried in determination. There was a resolute look in his eyes as he pushed the throttle lever of the fighter.

The speed of the fighter reached six times beyond the speed of sound, causing a loud sonic boom to explode in the air as it headed straight towards Bayhedge.

Three hours later, Noah, who was directly piloting the fighter, slowly landed on the open landing site at SkyLink Airport, located at the central area of Bayhedge.

On both sides of the landing site, hundreds of soldiers wearing black armed uniforms sealed off the scene, preventing anyone from passing through.

Hudson Reynolds, the Chairman of the Bayhedge Chamber of Commerce and President of the Paysine Group, rushed to the scene upon hearing the news. However, the massive crowd that had formed beforehand blocked his way.

Hudson knew better not to force his way through. Although there was an urgent look burning in eyes, he knew that his only option now was to stand and wait.

"Mr. Reed! Mr. Reed! It really is Mr. Reed! He's back!" Hudson shouted, his expression bursting in elation as he watched the man walk out and descend from the fighter.

"Mr. Reed! It's me, Hudson! I'm here!" Hudson excitedly waved his hands, hoping to catch Noah's attention.

However, at this point, all Noah could think about was Charlotte. Everything else was irrelevant. Without acknowledging Hudson, he headed straight to the car prepared for him in advance and left the airport.

When Noah arrived at the Fernandez family, his eyes widened in shock as he read the words flashing on the screen in the hall.

"Congratulations to Miss Charlotte Pierce and Mr. Tommy Fernandez for their engagement!"

In an instant, Noah's face darkened as murderous intent surged in his heart.

Four years ago, Charlotte was a beautiful and famous female CEO in Bayhedge.

One rainy night, Noah had an accident while he was on a mission in Bayhedge, rendering him seriously injured. His injuries were so severe that he ended up collapsing by the roadside.

In that moment of need, it was Charlotte and her kind-heartedness that rescued him from his perilous situation.

While he was recovering from his injury, it was then that Noah and Charlotte began to develop feelings for each other.

Charlotte wanted to marry Noah, but her family opposed to it.

In the eyes of the Pierce family, Noah was just some random man she had picked up from the roadside. They saw him as nothing more than a wandering beggar who wanted to take advantage of Charlotte. In other words, they didn't deem him worthy of her.

It wasn't until Charlotte threatened them with her own life that the Pierce family finally succumbed to her demand to marry Noah.

However, shortly after their marriage, bad news came from the southwestern border of Doriland.

At that point, Noah had already recovered from his injuries.

In order to protect Doriland, he had no choice but to leave Charlotte.

She had told him that she would wait for Noah to come back, and now, he had finally returned.

Upon entering the hotel, Noah saw the guests in the lobby, clinking their glasses and enjoying casual chats.

"I really pity Ms. Pierce," one of the guests commented. "Four years ago, everyone looked up to her like she was a goddess. But then, she ended up marrying a beggar who later ran away. That must've been such a huge disgrace to the Pierce family."

"Julian couldn't tolerate others mocking his daughter, which is why he forced her to get engaged to Tommy, that playboy."

"I heard that she locked herself in her room for several days as an act of protest."

As Noah listened to the guests talk, his hands balled into tight fists, and the expression on his face turned ice cold.

In the four years that he was away, he could only imagine how much suffering and humiliation that kind and fragile women had to endure.

But now that he was back, everyone and everything that had inflicted even an ounce of misery onto Charlotte must disappear!

As Noah fixed his eyes onto the stage where the bride was, his heart trembled.

The woman in front of him was none other than his wife, Charlotte. Even though four years had passed, he hadn't forgotten a single thing about her.

She was wearing a white wedding dress that showcased her long legs and exquisite figure.

Her skin was as fair as snow, but at this moment, her face looked pale. Despite that, she still resembled a fairy straight out of a painting.

Four years had passed, and Noah still thought of her as the most beautiful woman in the world.

The only thing marring that beauty was her eyes red from crying and the tears that had made her face wet.

Noah gnashed his teeth as he marched towards the center of the hall.

As soon as he arrived, Charlotte immediately recognized him.

"It's you! You finally came back! Noah!"

A look of excitement and joy flickered in Charlotte's eyes as her heart swelled with intense emotions. She looked at Noah in disbelief, tears streaming down her swollen eyes.

"I'm sorry for being late," Noah apologized to her.

He was a man who had faced countless enemies on the battlefield without flinching. And yet, the mere sight of his woman was enough to make his voice crack.

Out of the blue, Charlotte smacked Noah hard across the face before covering her face once again and continued sobbing.

Noah took all the impact of that slap. He knew that he deserved it.

The next second, Charlotte raised her hand again, but this time, the slap didn't land.

"Noah! I haven't heard from you since you left. It's been four years. I thought you were dead. Do you have any idea how much I've had to go through all these years?"

Charlotte's voice was hoarse, and her tears continued flowing nonstop.

Noah didn't utter a single word. Instead, he stretched out his arms and pulled Charlotte into an embrace.

"I'm sorry," he whispered to her ear after some time.

As he stroked Charlotte's hair, he vowed to himself that he would protect this woman at all cost. He would never let anyone bully her again.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Noah announced to the crowd in front of him, his deep voice booming throughout the hall.

"Today's engagement banquet is nothing but a farce. Charlotte is my wife. As such, he can't be engaged to anyone else. Thus, this banquet is hereby cancelled. Every one of you may leave now."

Noah's voice, full of vitality, reached everyone's ears.

His words fell like a bomb on a still lake, causing massive ripples as murmurs and whispers broke from the crowd.

"Who's this guy?"

"Could he be the beggar that Ms. Pierce married four years ago?"

"It's been four years! How does he have the audacity to still come back? I thought the Pierce family had already taken care of this guy..."

As the scene in the luxuriously decorated hall was starting to become unruly, three figures rushed down from upstairs with menacing looks on their faces.

It was Charlotte's sister, Caroline, her mother, Hazel, and her father, Julian.

"Noah! You unfaithful man! Why are you back here all of a sudden? We all thought that you had died outside long ago!" Caroline shouted at him, her disdain clear to see in her face.

"It's all because of you!" Julian chimed in, his face sporting the same expression as Caroline's. "Because of you, my daughter has been endlessly mocked for four whole years! Get out of here right now! If you don't, then don't blame me for what I'm about to do you!"

Despite their fierce demands, Noah remained unfazed. His face turned more serious as he said, "I assure all of you that this time, I will bring Charlotte happiness!"

"Shut up!" Hazel scolded him. "You're just a loser! What kind of happiness can you give my daughter anyway?"

She then pointed to a young man wearing a suit and declared loudly, "The only man who can make Charlotte happy is him, the third son of the Fernandez family, Tommy Hernandez!"

Noah then turned his head to look at the man Hazel was pointing at, only to see that the man was actually approaching him with a security guard in tow.

"Where did this guy come from?" Tommy cursed as he approached Noah in large strides. "How dare you snatch my woman from me at our engagement banquet?"

In Bayhedge, Tommy was notorious for his bullying and mischief.

Thus, he never expected that someone would be brave enough to come and steal his woman at their very engagement banquet.

"Tell you what: I'll give you three seconds to let go of Charlotte and get out of here!" Tommy threatened.

However, this didn't strike any fear in Noah's heart. He shot him a cold look and retorted, "The one who'll be leaving is you!"

The boldness of his response made Tommy gnash his teeth. "That's it! You'll go to hell!" He turned to the bodyguard beside him and ordered, "You! Teach this guy a lesson!"

"Yes, Young Master!"

Following his command, a security guard with a hulking and formidable figure stepped forward and threw a punch aimed at Noah.

"Be careful!" Charlotte exclaimed.

"You want to fight with me? You must have a death wish!"

With a sneer, Noah lifted his foot and kicked the security guard in the gut.

With a single powerful kick, the security guard was launched backwards, blasting away like a cannonball.

Everyone who saw this gasped in shock, unable to believe what they had just seen.

"Damn you! How dare you fight back!" Tommy gnashed his teeth even tighter, his jaw clattering in rage.

"Everyone! Come out and lend a hand!"

Upon Tommy's orders, more than ten scrappy young men rose to their feet.

A malicious look flashed in Tommy's eyes as a wicked grin formed on his face. "Break this guy's legs for me!"

"Yes, boss!"

The thugs cracked their knuckles as they began walking toward Noah like he was prey.

But all of a sudden, the hotel door was kicked open.

There, over a hundred soldiers emerged, armed with submachine guns as they rushed into the hotel lobby.

The soldiers moved so fast that in less than three seconds, they managed to completely surround the entire hotel lobby.

Chapter 2 Pierce Family's Mansion

"What's going on? Who are these people? Why are they here?"

The sudden turn of events shocked everyone in the hall.

Surrounded by soldiers, Tommy swallowed hard as he tried to stand up despite his trembling knees.

Before him was a burly man with a submachine gun in his arms.

"H-Hey, sir. Are you guys here to join the celebration?" Tommy warily asked, his voice cracking in fear.

Without a second thought. the burly man slapped Tommy to the ground.

"Celebrate? You've offended someone that you shouldn't have offended. I'm here to teach you a lesson!"

With a sneer, the burly man raised his right hand and commanded, "Smash this place!"

As soon as the order was placed, the soldiers immediately sprang into action.

One group shattered all the decorations that were related to the engagement ceremony, while another group beat the thugs surrounding Noah without an ounce of mercy.

In a blink of an eye, it was as though a typhoon had passed over, ravaging the hotel hall.

The thugs, who were acting so arrogantly a while ago, were now lying on the floor, groaning in pain.

"You're all a bunch of worthless trash!"

Noah let out a disdainful snort as he turned to Charlotte in his arms. "It's too chaotic here. Let's go home..."

"No!" Charlotte cried, cutting Noah off before he could finish his sentence. "Gianna, our daughter, is still locked in the Pierce family's mansion. We have to bring her back first!"

Noah narrowed his eyes at Charlotte in disbelief. "Gianna? Our daughter? You were pregnant four years ago?"

Charlotte nodded, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Yes, Noah. I found out I was pregnant two months after you left. But I couldn't find a way to reach you and tell you the news."

In that moment, Noah's heart swelled as pure joy coursed throughout his body. Although his gaze softened, there was an unmistakable determination etched on his face. "Trust me on this, Charlotte. I will bring Gianna back. But why did your grandmother lock up our daughter?" Noah couldn't help but ask.

Charlotte sank her head and let out a helpless sigh. "To force me to get engaged to Tommy."

Hearing this, Noah's hands shook as they balled into fists. His eyes turned icy as he said, "These people will regret this! Let's go! Let's bring Gianna back!"

Noah carried Charlotte in his arms and walked out of the hotel. As soon as they were outside, he hailed a taxi.

Noah looked ahead with anticipation. He wanted so badly to be reunited with Gianna, the daughter he didn't know he had.

Charlotte, on the other hand, was tightly grasping the car door handle. Only a single thought occupied her mind: bringing Gianna back home.

Whenever she looked at Noah, she felt both nervous and excited at the same time, which made her feel conflicted.

Finally, the taxi stopped in front of the Pierce family's old mansion.

With their hands clasped together, Noah and Charlotte approached the front gate.

In the living room of the old mansion, Charlotte's cousin, Kane Pierce, was sitting on the sofa.

He had a sadistic smile on his face as he watched his son bully this poor, delicate-looking girl.

Gianna, who was on the floor, sobbed endlessly. "Please don't hit me again. I didn't do anything wrong!"

A boy wearing blue pulled Gianna's hair and shouted at her, "I'm going to beat you up! My mom told me that you're a bastard without a dad. Because of that, I'll hit you however I want!"

"I have a dad! I'm not a bastard!" Gianna insisted between cries.

Kane contemptuously spat on the floor and mocked, "You don't even know what your dad looks like. How dare you say you have a dad? You're nothing but a bastard!"

"That's right! Little Bastard!" The boy laughed.

"My dad, he... he..."

Gianna tried to speak, but the sobs lodged in her throat prevented the words from coming out. All she could do was sink her head and continue crying.

Noah had left before Gianna was born. As such, she had never seen her dad.

Due to the confidential nature of Noah's identity, and in order to protect Charlotte, he had left no photos behind for Gianna to see.

As a result, Gianna, who was now four years old, had never actually seen what her father looked like.

"Why aren't you talking now? Bastard!"

The boy shoved Gianna to the ground, sporting a smug face.

This was the scene that welcomed Noah when he walked into the living room.

"How dare you bully my daughter! Do you want to die?" Noah roared as he rushed towards the boy and slapped him hard across the face.

The crisp impact resounded throughout the room, and the force behind the slap sent a bloody tooth flying out of the boy's mouth.

"Aw! My tooth!" the boy cried out in pain.

Seeing this, Kane rose to his feet and shouted in rage. "Who the hell are you? How dare you hit my son like this?"

"Your son?" Noah let out a disdainful snort and clenched his fists. With a silent intensity burning in his eyes, He began slowly approaching Kane.

"W-what are you going to do to me?" Kane exclaimed in fear.

Noah shot him a dead look, his eyes pointed at him like a rifle staring at the target it was about to slaughter.

A feeling of sheer terror coursed through Kane's veins. "I-I'm a member of the Pierce family! I..."

Before Kane could utter another word, Noah ruthlessly slapped the taste out of his mouth.

What followed was a powerful kick, sending Kane flying across the room.

"Ah!" Kane cried in pain as he crashed heavily onto the sofa. His face was disfigured in agony, and his body writhed in pain.

Charlotte, who was closely following from behind, gasped as soon as she saw all this happen.

Noah dared to hit anyone. He didn't care who it was.

Even Kane, the beloved grandson of the Pierce family's patriarch, didn't escape his rage.

Charlotte pursed her lips, unsure how to feel about this.

On one hand, she was afraid the Pierce family might launch a devastating retaliation against Noah. But on the other hand, she felt a strange admiration towards this man who fiercely defended her and her daughter.

In the past four years, she had dreamt of slapping those who had laughed at her.

"Damn you! I'll kill you today!" Kane muttered to himself as he struggled to get up from the ground, his face contorted in pure hatred.

At that moment, Noah was crouching down, comforting Gianna who seemed to be in shock.

This was the perfect opportunity to strike.

Kane's eyes lit up as he thought of a way to catch Noah off guard.

He reached for the desk lamp and silently stalked Noah from behind.

"Go to hell!"

Kane let out a maniacal laugh as he mercilessly swung the lamp at Noah.

Chapter 3 Pay Back Your Debt!

Kane swung the desk lamp at the back of Noah's head with all his strength, causing a whooshing sound.

"Watch out!" Charlotte cried as soon as she noticed Kane's sneak attack.

Immediately, Noah turned around and caught the lamp from Kane's hand.

The next second, the lamp crashed onto Kane, shattering against him.

"Ah!" Kane screamed in agony.

"Do you dare to try to attack me again?" Noah asked with a blank expression, his eyes as cold as the arctic winds.

"N-No! I won't try again!" Kane pleaded, his face grimacing in pain.

"I'm sorry! I'm an idiot! I won't dare to go against you again!" His voice shook as an overwhelming fear took over him.

"The next time you see me, you'd better not say a word!"

Noah shot a cold glance at him before picking up Gianna. With Charlotte beside him, the three of them left the Pierce family mansion.

It was only when Noah was gone that Kane dared to stand up from the floor.

"Charlotte! Just you wait and see! You'll live to regret what you've done!"

Kane gnashed his teeth as he watched the three of them leave, his eyes aflame with pure hatred.

He vowed to himself that he would make Charlotte understand the cost of messing with him.

Suddenly, it dawned on him that Charlotte just borrowed a loan last month.

As the thought crossed his mind, Kane's eyes lit up. He then took out his phone and made a call.

"Hello, Mr. Manson? This is Kane. There's something that I want to discuss with you."

Because Noah had returned after being missing for four years, the engagement banquet with the Fernandez family had to be cancelled.

With Gianna in his arms, Noah returned to Charlotte's residence.

Since Charlotte chose to marry Noah, she had become a disgrace to the Pierce family. As a result, the Pierce family expelled her entire family from the mansion.

Now, Charlotte, along with her parents, was now living in a run-down house in an old city district.

As soon as Charlotte opened the door, she saw that her parents were already home.

"Charlotte! Why did you bring this loser back with you?" Julian scolded, his face crumpling into a frown.

"This guy already caused the engagement banquet to be cancelled. What else does he want?" Hazel chimed in, rolling her eyes at Noah in disdain.

"Let me guess. This guy wasn't able to make it outside, so now, he's come back to leech off of us!" Julian said.

"Dad! Mom!" Charlotte cried in an aggrieved tone. "He's Gianna's father. Would you rather have me continue raising Gianna alone?"

"So what if he's back? Does that mean he's capable of raising Gianna?"

Hazel sneered as she turned her attention to Noah.

"Four years have passed! Did you bring a house or a car with you?"

Noah's brows furrowed as he thought about the question.

After a while, he flashed an awkward smile and answered, "No."

Although he was a bona fide tycoon who owned top-notch villas and luxurious yachts in various countries, he didn't personally buy any of them. Rather, they were just gifted to them.

As the God of War, countless people fawned over him. In the eyes of ordinary people, he never seemed to run out of luxuries.

As for buying a car, Noah had never driven himself. He had his subordinates arrange these matters for him.

Thus, he didn't need to buy any private vehicles or properties.

Both Julian and Hazel laughed at him in contempt. "So what you're saying is you own nothing? You beggar! And you claim that you're not here to leech off us?"

"Don't think that just because the engagement banquet with Tommy fell through because he offended some big shot, you can come back and be my son-in-law again!" Hazel shouted at him.

"Mom!"

Charlotte wanted to say something else, but the sudden knock on the door interrupted her flow of thought.

With a tired sigh, she held back her words and turned to open the door.

As soon as she did, she saw Kane and a man wearing a suit outside.

"Kane? What are you doing here?" Charlotte asked with a frown.

"What am I doing? I brought someone with me to make you pay the money you owe me!"

With a smug smile, Kane pointed to the man beside him.

"He is the person in charge of the Beacon Bank's business. He has come personally to collect the 20 million debt that your company has borrowed before!"

"What?" Charlotte's face changed dramatically.

In the living room, Julian and Hazel were eavesdropping on their conversation. As soon as they heard this bit, they immediately rose to their feet.

In the past, after Charlotte had lost her position as president, she wanted to start a new business. To do that, she had to borrow money from Beacon Bank as startup capital. However, due to Kane's persistent sabotaging, the business failed.

As a result, she incurred a debt totaling 20 million. The bank only extended the repayment period upon Clara's guarantee.

Because of this, Charlotte was forced to return to work at the family company. She mainly relied on her monthly salary to pay off her debt. However, once the Pierce family withdrew their guarantee, the Beacon Bank would collect the debt she owed immediately, plunging her back once again into despair.

"Kane, can't we settle this matter in another way?" Julian pleaded, his tone trying to be friendly. "You don't have to be so ruthless towards us, right?"

"That's none of my business!"

With a sneer, Kane pointed at Noah and continued, "If there's someone you want to blame, blame him! He's an ignorant man who dared to provoke me!"

Julian instantly turned his head and stared daggers at Noah. It turned out that this loser had offended Kane.

He had already caused this family so much trouble four years ago, subjecting them to a barrage of mockery and insults.

Now that he was back four years later, he was still bringing nothing but disaster to this family!

"How can this loser claim to bring happiness to my daughter?" Julian cursed to himself as he gritted his teeth in rage.

Noah, on the other hand, didn't utter a single word. Instead, he simply took out his phone and made a call.

"Hudson, you have three minutes. Bring me 20 million in cash to the old city district!"

As soon as Noah said this, he hung up the call.

"Are you pretending to be a big shot by calling someone? How ridiculous!" Kane mocked as he looked at Noah in disgust.

"Do you think a loser like you can get 20 million in cash? Dream on! You might as well kneel and lick my shoes. If I'm in a good mood, I might let my friend here from the bank spare you," Kane said with disdain.

Noah scoffed arrogantly and retorted, "It's just 20 million. I have plenty of that."

As soon as Kane heard this, he burst into laughter.

"You beggar! You really have the guts to talk big now? If you can really come up with 20 million, I'll kneel in front of you and call you daddy..."

Before Kane could even finish speaking, loud honks started echoing outside the door.

There, thirteen imported luxury cars, each worth millions, lined up at Charlotte's doorstep.

Seeing this, everyone's jaw dropped, the look of shock clearly etched on their faces.

"It's people from the Reynolds family!" Hazel exclaimed.

After a while, a well-dressed man stepped out of one of the cars. From the looks of it, he was clearly a business elite. With a briefcase in hand, he walked inside the living room.

Kane narrowed his eyes in confusion as he stared at this well-dressed man.

In his mind, he wondered: why would someone from Bayhedge's top aristocratic family come here?
