Chapter 21 The Spies Are Caught

/ 1

It has been two moons since the man from the East as the stranger was call was brought into the pack weak and exhausted, now he is hale and healthy; fully accepted into the pack by the werewolves and everyone in general except the kings aide and loyal servant Elder Eric his best friend.
Eric had since the man from the East was brought into the pack dark foreboding of an impending doom but it seems his advice and fears were unfounded and therefore the Alpha took it as nothing.
Finally the man from the East was summoned to the council of Elder wolves known as The Sahendrin for questioning of his origin, how he got to the land of Vigowen and what was the purpose of him and his friends before they embarked on the mission into unknown land's. This is many other questions haunted the Elder wolves though it never showed on their faces.
It was night fully clear as the moon showered the land with it's bright rays, one could mistake the brightness for the early morning sun.
The Sahendrin was fully occupied as the Elders wolves sat in order according to their ranks in a three rows of marble chairs on the right facing the left where the wolf scribe's sat with their scrolls awaiting the start of the questioning.
Minutes later the man from the East was led into the council by two guards each walking beside him maintaining his pace neither fast nor slow. Gently he was led into a chair placed on the center of the council room facing the Alpha's throne.
After a careful scrutinizing and many mind piercing gazes from a multitude of eye's the man from the East was finally acknowledged and motioned to have his seat, In case like this the Alpha usually allows the Elders have their way before he began his interrogations.
"Who are you and where are you from?" The Alpha beginning his barrage of questions.
"My name is Wu Jin from the far East my King" The man from the East answered with his gaze fixed on the floor.
"Why have you decided to embark on the sea voyage despite the perils of the sea?" The Alpha said once again.
"We heard that the land of the shapeshifters lies in the land beyond the great sea; so we can to confirm the rumors flying around" Wu Jin answered.
"Just to confirm mere rumor, you left your land and embark on a perilous journey?" The Alpha asked again. "Now tell me,how would you know you have reached their lands and how would you identify them?."
"My king,we had a map that said the land of the shapeshifters lies in between the twin mountains where the first rays of the sun passes through during sunrise" Wu Jin answered.
"And have you found this land?".
"Yes my king, Our navigational chart's led us straight to this Island and it has the twin mountains in it" Wu Jin Answered again.
"How sure are you?" The Alpha said again.
"Very sure my King" was the reply.
"Very well then" The Alpha began. "You may leave us now,we send for you later."
"Thank you my king" Wu Jin said courtesying neatly before the two guards escorted him out again leaving the Alpha and the Elders to the final decision.
Back in the hall the Elders deliberate on what the verdict would be.
"My king,I suggest you send him on his way. No one knows what lies in the heart of any man" Elder Morgan the scribe spoke first.
"You spoke well Elder Morgan, remember this was how a spy came into the land of the Acuweth wolves; if not that the Alpha's son was vigilant. They could have been all killed in their sleep." Another Elder Hooke added.
"Well to me this Wu or whatever his name is mean no harm to us,I think we should let him run with the pack,my opinion though." A new decorated Elder wolf with green eyes spoke up from the back seat much to the joy of the Alpha whom a sly smile played on his lips.
"Why did you say so lad." Elder Eric asked him while standing to his feet to take a look at who the speaker was.
"He seems harmless to me though,I think he is capable of nothing. Let him run with the pack while we watch him from the background." The Green eyes elders wolf replied to the question thrown at him
After much deliberation from the Elders it was decided by voting that Wu Jin was to remained with the pack if he chooses or is free to leave if he also chooses to; a verdict that was passed on to Wu Jin by the scribe much to the dismay of Elder Eric who maintained his stand on Wu Jin leaving the pack immediately. He could nothing abound it, so he left it all in the hands of the moon goddess.
Wu Jin became a free man,who walks anywhere he wishes without hindrance or rule stopping him from moving around. But like the scribe mentioned no one knows the heart of man, Wu began hatching a plan to take over to leadership and become the Alpha but he knew it would only happen if he could beat the Alpha to fight. Something he knew was practically impossible,he had to find a new way to take him down or even weaken him greatly for him to propose a duel to him.
During one of his numerous walks into the woods he comes across a particular plant growing wild near the pine grooves where the wolves cut logs for building work's, the yellow petalled flowers with spiky stems and leaves weakens the body once eaten. If not treated quickly the body neurons dies making the victim as weak as a newborn baby.
Wu Jin smiled with a mischievous smile as he knew his plan is about to be completed, gathering as much as he can carry he heads back to carry out the first stage of the plan he had been hatching for months.
