Chapter 5 Help from Faceless One

Scarlett maintained her stance as the crowd of wolves charged at her but something happened.

A flash was seen as a figure moved across the sandy stage and in an instant leaped at the line of wolves sending them all crashing as it stood before Scarlett.

Scarlett's eyes widened in shock as she beheld the scene before her, the wolf before her was silver in color with gleaming claws, standing a full 6ft 9in contrast her 6ft 7in.

The fallen wolves scrambled to their feet and growled angrily at the intruder, snarling they launched another attack with the silver colored wolf returning the charge as Scarlett charged after him.

Swooping low the silver wolf slash a wolf on the laps using his shoulders to lift it up throwing him against two incoming wolf before him, bending low Scarlett stepped on his back using him as a propelling board she leaped high to land in the midst of about ten wolf's slashing, ripping and biting.

Indeed she fought like the demon she was,she wasn't indeed called the Raksha the Demon in vain.

The wolves encircled around her, glaring into her dark red eyes and growling ferociously. The sound rattled the bones of the surrounding werewolves, who howled and pawed the ground nervously. Some wanted this to happen, but others wished it didn't have to be this way.

This particular wolf stood menacingly in front of her.

Scarlett's upper lip curled over her sharp incisors. "Stay out of this, Glenn," she said in Wolf Speak.

"Make me," Glenn replied, mimicking Scarlett's dangerous gesture.

"Just because you're the Alpha's Luna doesn't mean you get everything you want." Several wolves growled in either agreement or disgust at Glenn's comment, but Scarlett's hideous snarl silenced them.

"You always assume I use my title as an excuse to take things from you. Well, little pup, I can assure you that that is not the case. You were just too weak to take away my rights." She drew back her lips in a smile. Glenn's growl resonated from deep in his throat.

"So, you admit to taking us for granted," Darren mused. Scarlett's smile disappeared, replaced with a ferocious snarl.

"I take no man for granted" Without another word, she launched at Glenn, claws spread and ready to kill.

Glenn and Scarlett collided, tearing at each other while avoiding the other. Scarlett swiped at Glenn, cutting a gash in his ear. Glenn barely noticed, biting into Scarlett's unguarded shoulder. The werewolf howled, trying to shake him off. Glenn tried to hold fast, but soon his teeth lost their grip and he flew back, knocking into the crowd of wolves. The werewolves jumped back, snarling and encouraging him to get back up. Glenn fumbled to his paws, his ears flat on his head, smearing blood on his copper coat.

Scarlett stood on his back hunches, barking at Glenn. "What makes you think a puny pup like you can defeat the Alpha?" Glenn snapped, launching himself at the white werewolf. Scarlett smiled as she leaped over Glenn and snagged his tail. Glenn yelped as he was yanked backwards and thrown into a column, cracking his ribs. He fell to the ground with a thud, breathing heavily and wincing from the effort.

Scarlett sauntered towards him, a smirk implanted on her muzzle. Soon she was towering over Glenn, who kept his head down but snarled in warning. Scarlett paid no attention, raising her paw to finish the pathetic werewolf, when she suddenly was shoved aside.

The silver colored wolf stood before her stopping her from killing the wolf before her.

"Don't do it" the silver wolf said in wolf speak.

"Why say so Wolfie?" Scarlett asked, jerking her hands off his grip.

Taking a glance at the wolves who had backed off on seeing her fierce fighting moves and as well as how she took down Glenn.

"Killing him will make you more like them and probably incur more enemies to yourself. Think about it" The silver wolf said, stepping back and backing off facing the other wolves.

Growling at them, the silver wolf sped off into the darkness as everyone remained in shock as the events of the evening didn't turn out as expected.

The wolves who now cowered at a corner shivered as Scarlett walked to the podium where the throne stood.

"Anyone who is willing and ready to fight for the position of Alpha, let him come forth and face me" She roared out to the wolves watching the sequence unfolding before them.. With a bowed head, one of the guards trotted up to her and handed her husband's necklace that had dropped during the fight as she took a glance at her wolf guards who were stomping their paws and barking approval.

The whole amphitheatre became as silent as a graveyard as everyone remained silent, no one wanted to dare cross her path anymore.

With a swift motion, she spit towards the direction of the elders and rose to her full height, walking to her personal guard and she took her coat. The high Beta stared at her for a moment before looking anxiously at Glenn, who lay where he was in dumb silence and soon the entire pack had disappeared into the darkness towards their homes, leaving Scarlett behind.

Glenn got up to his feet as he limped away towards his home. It was an unexpected change of event, something they had expected in their favour turned against them.

Turning towards her personal guard she beckoned him forward.

"Make sure to kill that pathetic fool, let him feel the wrath of dare challenging me to a fight" Scarlett commanded.

"Consider it done my Lady" The guard answered as he smiled to himself.

Eventually, rain began to fall, soaking Scarlett to the bone. Not even her guards were left out as they showed no sign of weariness. And soon, the Alpha's tears mixed in with the downpour as she walked forward and walked away from the amphitheatre, towards the Alpha's courtyard. Today, she had won...a thousand to one chance and she had pulled off, but one more question remains unanswered.

"Who is that wolf?".
