Chapter 9 Agreement

Upon arriving home to her dismay her father gives her some

not very pleasant news:

"Honey, the prince

and his group are coming to dinner here tonight", but seeing Hellen's

despairing face breaks his heart, so he says, "but you don't have to attend if

you don't want to"

Hearing this

Hellen's face lights up and she says:

"I'm going to dinner

at Gloria's and spend the night there all right?"

"Sure honey, say hi

to her for me" says alpha Dilan more relieved.

Half na hour later

Hellen sets off in her BMW, and drives away from Luke and his taunts.

Luke and his group

arrive at 7 pm sharp, and are greeted by alpha Dilan and Trevan with their mate

Eve and Noah.

But Luke realizes

that there is no sign of Hellen in the house.

Vanessa is glad that

Hellen is not there – this and the spoiled apple from earlier prove that the

girl has not the slightest interest in Luke.

Dinner is served

and Luke several times looks up the stairs, wondering if Hellen is in the room

and has refused to have dinner with him.

Trevan who notices

Luke's interest in the stairs, is annoyed, and wonders what Luke's problem is ,

as he seems to have been waiting for Hellen all night.

"Hey Noah," calls

his Beta at the link "Don't you find this prince strange?"

"Absolutely, and

he's been making your sister's life a living hell at school"

Trevan stares at

Luke who absently continues to stare at the stairs.

Diego who loses nothing , notices Trevan's irritation and to

put na end to it asks the question that Luke would like to ask but doesn't have

the courage.

"Hellen won't you

have dinner with us tonight?"?

Before his father

can answer Trevan says:

"No she is with her

boyfriend Mike, you met him at school," he says this with his eyes fixed on

Luke .

Alpha Dilan doesn't

understand his son's motives, but thinks it best not to deny it, given recent

events .

Luke feels a blood

rage and for a moment it shows in his eyes flashing red and his jaw clenched,

but he quickly controls himself and asks Tron.

"You're not helping,

what now?"

"I told you I don't

like this guy," Tron replies

Trevan out of

nowhere stands up and gets right to the point:

"Look at your

royalty or whatever they refer to you, do you by any chance have a problem with

my sister, or are you just chasing her for fun?"

Alpha Dilan now

faces Luke as well, as he would also like to know what is going on.

Luke clears his

throat and says:

"I don't have a

problem with your sister, we just didn't get along , but nothing serious," he

says because his supreme blood doesn't accept to give explanations to na alpha.

"That's it then, I'm

relieved because for a moment I thought I was into her, and was acting like a

kindergarten boy who pulls the hair of the girl he likes to get attention".

"Trevan, son please,"

says Alpha Dilan but in fact he was also irritated by the prince's attitude,

"Well tomorrow we will visit the training center..." says Alpha Dilan changing

the subject

Trevan's words

reverberate in Vanessa's head and she watches Luke carefully, and notices that

he is thoughtful and distracted.

Could this girl be

Luke's mate? No, it wasn't possible, after all the two hated each other, but to

be sure she had better find a way to increase their hatred, Vanessa makes up

her mind.

Right after dinner

Luke goes up to his room claiming he is still tired from the trip and refuses

Vanessa's offer of a massage because he knew exactly where it would lead and he

wasn't willing to sleep with her.

With the lights off

he stops at the window, from where he could see the entrance to alpha Dilan's

house, and there he stands waiting for a Hellen who does not return home.

Meanwhile in

Gloria's house Hellen stirs in bed unable to sleep, the disastrous day

replaying in her mind.

She wonders

what's wrong with Luke, how such a beautiful person could be so hateful.

Sighing she puts the

pillow on top of her head and wonders if she by any chance had offended him at

some point before all this. But it would be impossible because she had never

seen him before.

And what was that

strange feeling when he held her?

She felt like she

was going crazy, and for her own sanity she would have to stay away from him,

and his strange girlfriend.

...

Deep in the backyard

in the darkness of the forest edge, away from Luke's ears and Vanessa's viper,

Diego waits for Trevan, because after dinner tonight he came to the conclusion

that if he didn't get allies, Luke and Hellen wouldn't even have a chance to

find out if they were mates or not.

"Come here all of

you are weird like that? What do you need to talk to me about, just like that?"

asks Trevan as soon as he arrives between curious and irritated .

Relieved Diego

answers:

"Actually most of

the time we are pretty normal, but something has been affecting Luke since he

set his eyes on your sister" seeing Trevan stiffen up he hastens to continue

"Have you ever heard that for us the thing of finding our Companions is more

complicated than for you?"

"I actually thought it was just your brother," Trevan says

now overcome with curiosity

"No actually it is a

condition of all males of our descent, well but even so there are some signs,

in my case he believes to be completely in love with his girlfriend until he

met a cousin of hers, and no matter how hard he tried to avoid it, and he tried

everything including hurting the girl, they ended up getting together and then

he found out that my mother was his destined mate, already my uncle met a girl

for whom he felt dislike immediately, the two Vivian fighting and he decided to

stay with her for Revenge and then he found out that she was his mate"

"That's crazy man,

the bond attraction is complicated enough without all that shit," Trevan says

with some pity for Luke and Diego

"Well I have fun

looking", says Diego pulling a smile from Trevan " but Luke, well Luke is Luke,

he carries on his shoulders the weight of the future of our entire race, at

eight years old he was already more powerful than me his older brother and our

father the current Alpha king, and that made him a little arrogant, and also he

had some issues with a girl with the type kind of similar to his sister"

Trevan now turns

serious as he is foreseeing what Diego is getting at, he had hinted at this

himself at dinner.

"I know nothing justifies my brother's

attitude , but I'll get straight to the point, I think Hellen is his mate"

Trevan starts pacing

back and forth, wondering what that would imply.

"But he might not be

either, it might just be dislike anyway" Trevan says thoughtfully

"I've known my

brother forever, and I've never seen him act like this," Diego replies

"Dude if you're

asking me to help your brother sleep with my sister, the answer is no, she has

this way and even the reputation of being a shallow girl, but she hasn't even

had her first kiss yet," says Trevan categorically .

"You don't want her

to find her mate?" tries Diego

Trevan thinks of Eve

and all she means to him, and of course he wants the same for Hellen .

Realizing he has

touched on the right point Diego continues:

"I'm not saying we

should put your sister on a platter for Luke to test whether or not she's his

mate, I'm saying we should create as many opportunities as possible for the two

of them to be together away from that Mike and Vanessa guy, if it's just

dislike it won't come to anything, but if they're mates they'll find out eventually"

Diego says and raises his hand into a fist hoping .

Trevan sighs and

closes his fisted hand and lightly taps Diego's fist.
