Chapter 1 A Deal

"I'm getting married," Winnie Newell said proudly, lifting the chin of the woman kneeling on the floor with the tip of her shoe. "It's all thanks to your virginity."

Sheila Newell was stunned for a moment. She stopped polishing Winnie's shoes and was forced to look up.

"Thanks to you, I can marry Gerald Lamont, the richest man in Soulas all women want to marry."

As the wealthiest man in Soulas, Gerald had assets that were worth more than one hundred million dollars.

When Winnie thought of this, a greedy expression crept across her face with exquisite makeup.

Sheila was a little confused. When did Winnie get involved with such a noble person because of her?

Winnie noticed the confusion on Sheila's face, so she kindly reminded, "Have you forgotten? That night in the hotel..."

Sheila's face suddenly lost its color. And her thoughts were dragged back to the night before yesterday.

Ivan York, her brother, was diagnosed with leukemia. To save his life, she promised Winnie that she would pretend to be Winnie and sleep with a strange drunk man in exchange for Ivan's medical expenses.

She could never forget that night because the man's kisses were hot like flickering flames, burning her fragile nerves.

Sheila was so immersed in that passionate sex that she almost forgot herself.

But tears still unconsciously welled up in her eyes. Then she felt the man's warm fingers gently wipe the corners of her eyes.

It was only now that she found out that the name of the strange man she slept with was Gerald.

Since Sheila remained silent, Winnie continued, "If it weren't for you, Gerald wouldn't have believed that I was still a virgin, and then he wouldn't have insisted on marrying me.

Thank you for doing it for me. But you didn't lose anything, right? After all, I'm sure you had a good time with Gerald that night. When I went in to replace you, your body was full of his smell. When Sheila heard these words, a strong sense of humiliation welled up in her heart.

She had no idea why Winnie hated her so much. From the day she was taken back to the Newell family, Winnie never stopped torturing her.

Winnie had even used the most obscene words in the world to slander her.

Sheila had been looking up for a long time, and her neck was already sore. So she turned her head to break free from the uncomfortable posture. However, Winnie squatted down, grabbed her hair, and pulled her in front of her.

"I'm warning you. Don't have any unrealistic delusions just because you have slept with Gerald. You'd better take this secret to your grave."

As she spoke, Winnie stared at Sheila's beautiful eyes, as clear as sapphire. Her jealousy reached its peak in an instant. Sheila was just an adopted daughter, but... why was it that Sheila was more beautiful?

Their faces looked alike. But because of Sheila's eyes, she was not as beautiful as Sheila from childhood until now.

Winnie thought for a while. Then she took out a pair of black-rimmed glasses from her bag and put them on the bridge of Sheila's nose.

Now that she could see that Sheila looked less attractive wearing the glasses, she finally showed a satisfied smile. "Remember, if I find out that you take off your glasses, your good brother will be in big trouble."

Sheila didn't say anything. She just let Winnie do whatever she wanted. Actually, she was not afraid of Winnie at all. But she had to put up with Winnie because Ivan's medical expenses would be paid by Winnie.

Obviously, her submissiveness pleased Winnie.

So Winnie stopped torturing her. Winnie threw her aside and ordered arrogantly, "Clean up all the dishes in the kitchen."

Winnie then turned around in her high heels and walked upstairs briskly.

Sheila nodded obediently. She thought that washing the dishes was way much better than being scolded and beaten by Winnie.

Sheila had just picked up a plate and began to clean it when the door of the Newell family's villa was pushed open from the outside.

Then two rows of well-trained bodyguards walked in, stood on both sides, and waited respectfully for the person outside the door to come in.

At this moment, a pair of exquisitely crafted leather shoes that looked expensive crossed the threshold of the house, making a crisp sound on the marble floor.

Sheila looked in the direction where the sound came from. But unexpectedly, her gaze met a pair of deep-set eyes. She was suddenly stunned.

The man who had just come in was none other than Gerald.
