Chapter 4 Uncle AJ

It had been a week of good music and laughter and weird channels being watched on television together with numerous notes written. Peris was pretty sure that if things continued as they were she would fall utterly in love with the faceless stranger that she did not know. Being bisexual herself she felt lucky that if she did fall in love, no matter the gender it could always work out that is if the person on the other side was also interested. She however could not help that her interests in the person was growing more each day with how attentive they were to her and her emotions.

Sometimes she would sing to herself when she needed comfort and they would play for her to accord her that comfort. That to her was one of the single sweetest moment she had ever experienced. She had grown up with no emotional support however from anyone and she now felt good having someone emotionally there for her even though they did not know each other. She had grown so fond of their moments that she found herself looking forward to those every day after school. The fact that everyone in campus had their own click, all but her, made it easier for her to spend time with her new strange friend.

Peris spent every waking moment when she wasn't studying thinking about the things that they could or could not be. In ever scene they ended up being more than just friends. Maybe it was because the person in the picture was the first person who had even shown her true concern. Her feelings were getting stronger for the human on the other side of the wall and she wanted more than anything else to meet them and at least put a face a gender and a name on them but until then all that was left was her imagination. She had imagined the person as a him and a her and somehow the idea was so pleasant for her that she lay on her bed with a smile. She lay there for a while her mind filled with all the fantasies she imagined of them. After a moment of day dreaming she took a novel from her collection and decided to study outside. The weather was delightful for that and the fact that she had heard no movement from the main house and the house across the stone wall she assumed she was on her own hence she plugged in her earphones to listen to some music while she read.

She blasted her favorite songs in the loudest volume she could use without hurting her ears. She hummed to them slightly as she enjoyed the story she was ready. It was one of the hobbies she enjoyed most. She enjoyed reading the stories she liked with music blasting through her ears. She felt like her taste of music was weird but the moment James Arthur's Can I be him started playing she closed the book and started singing as loud as she could since she was all alone in the compound. Once she finished singing the song, she felt relieved like she always did when she sang. Singing was the only way she had of coping with things. When she was anxious she sang. When she was afraid she sang. When she was happy she sang. Whatever emotion she was experiencing she felt better whenever she sang. Everyone had a comfort food but she did not have one. Instead she had her music. She sat back down after realizing she had been singing the song quite dramatically while standing up. She laughed to herself before she picked up her book and decided to keep reading.

She had been reading for a while that she had even forgotten about the music. It had already stopped playing but she had not noticed it yet. That was why she was startled when she heard a piano playing her can I be him by James Arthur. She almost jumped from the floor where she had been sitting. She had thought she was alone but with the clear indication of the music playing there was someone next door and that person had made sure to listen to her singing so that they had even known the song she was going to be singing. She felt her cheeks burning at that. She had been quite hopeful and dependent on the fact she had been alone. She was never confident in her voice even though she had been singing practically her whole life. She felt as though she did not have the voice or the courage to do it except in the confides of her own small space. She however had started feeling confident singing to the ears of someone who was not judging her voice and she was not sure she would meet them. She smiled as she took off her earphones to listen to the piano playing.

"Gesiglose engel (faceless angel)" She whispered under her breath as she listened to the comforting sounds of the piano. She meant it though. The person on the other side was her angel who was faceless since she did not know what they looked like. She listened keenly as he played the tune so nicely and corrected every error that they found themselves making over and over again. She had imagined things would be so fun had they known each other because they could casually just sing and enjoy the company that music would offer them. Her day dreams were becoming more vivid and it caused her to laugh whenever she found herself thinking of how their fingers were caressing the black and white tiles on the piano and she found herself wondering if they were a good lover if they were so good with their fingers on the piano. She laughed slightly to herself as she felt her body warm up slightly at those thoughts. She shook her head slightly hoping she could get those thoughts out of it. Suddenly the piano stopped and something else happened.

"Hi what's up." a deep sultry voice spoke causing her to freeze up and the goosebumps rose at the back of her neck. He was a man. A man with a sexy voice that had her filled with desire already. She subconsciously found herself closing her legs due to the effect the voice had on her. She found herself listening to him even more. She did not know why even her deeply romantic novels had never had such a effect on her yet the man's voice had almost driven her insane. She closed her eyes and shook her head trying to clear her mind but he kept speaking making it hard for her to do what she wanted. She found herself waiting for him to finish speaking so that she could have her peace back again. For a moment she was regretting him being a man since he was making her feel things that a stranger with a nice voice wasn't meant to make her feel. It was as though she could now no longer control herself as long as he spoke. She understood the meaning of words being powerful was hidden under the voice.

"I'mma have to call you back. Ek is nou besig (I'm busy right now)." He spoke after a while and that had Peris asking herself a few questions. What was he busy doing that he had just told the person on the other side to let him be. Her question was answered not long after as he continued to play her song and her eyes widened in surprise. She had though he was busy doing something else and the music session was done but she was not right. The man had been busy playing her favorite music for her, playing every song that she had been humming. He was busy just making her happy something that no one had ever done for her. She felt her eyes tear up at that gesture and she brought a hand to her mouth to cover it up so that he would not hear her crying like the cry baby she was. It was so good to have someone who would drop stuff just for her and that man with a sexy voice was doing that just for her. She smiled through the tears as she thought to herself that she had found herself her first love.

She kept singing Like I'm gonna lose you by Meghan Trainor since that was the song that the guy was playing at that moment. She sang lowly though since she knew if she did it normally he was going to find out just how emotional she was and then he would be disgusted. Her father had been so keen to tell her how disgusting she sounded whenever she sang through her emotions or even sang at all. She did not want him to be in a position where he would stop playing for her because he was disgusted. She let her emotions overpower her and she stopped singing all together because she could not hold it in. She got up from where she was and tiptoed to her small house. She set the novel back with the rest of her collection and she lay on the bed with her mid all focused on the little things that he was doing for her. He. She could not believe that somehow a man was doing something for her even without knowing her. She wanted to lie to herself and convince herself that he felt the same way she did for him but even she knew that was jumping the gun.

Deciding that she needed a walk to freshen up and feel like a human being again she decided to take a shower first. She knew she smelled weird based on the fact that it was Saturday evening and the last time she had taken a shower was Friday in the morning right before she was getting ready to get to school. She stripped down before strutting to her bathroom. Letting the water run she stood under it as she replayed the sound of his voice over and over in her mind. She couldn't help but let her hands roam her body she lathered up getting rather tempted to touch herself just by the mere caress of his voice to her eardrums. She did her best to get as clean as she could without letting herself succumb to her temptations. She smiled when she managed to rinse off and head out of her bathroom. It was one of the small victories that she celebrated. She threw on a pair of gym shorts and a tank top. She threw her hair in a messy bun and put on some lip gloss. She could do without make up but not her trustee lip gloss.

She carried a small phone bag as she did not want her pockets to be bulky while she took her walk. Satisfied she looked alright she walked out of the house and locked it up before leaving their semi detached compound and locking the gate behind her. The darkness had began falling on the horizon but the estate was well lit and with all the security cameras in every corner of the estate made her feel safe. She clutched her bag close to her just in case anything happened before she started her walk around the estate. She felt quite relieved when she noticed that there was no one outside at that moment. She had no idea why she had such a phobia for meeting people but she had it and the only thing she could do was accept it. She had not gotten very far when she bumped into someone since she had been walking absent mindedly enjoying the fact that she was alone on the road. She quickly apologized barely looking up at the person she had bumped into. She walked away before she heard a familiar voice. She turned back to look at him but his face was turned away from her and he had walked away a bit too quickly.
