The first day of school had been hellish more than halos. She had not expected that everything would be so complicated. Getting to know the various areas of the school was quite a task but the worst task of them all was making friends. Turned out campus wasn't like high school were everyone knew everyone since they were all from the same area. Being the ambivert she was, it was a hard task talking to people and school did not make it any easier. She had however managed to find almost every other building with the help of the security guard that had taken interest in her bag.
God bless her friend for getting her that gift. She had also managed to locate most of the classes, at least most of the ones she would be using for the semester. She had taken the time to make sure that she had gotten almost a full map before classes began. She had gotten to campus hours before her classes for that reason and as she walked home that evening she was more than grateful that she had done it. It had saved her a great deal of trouble like she had seen with other students, who had gotten to their classes hours later.
She passed by a small convenience store that was just outside of campus where she got herself something she could have for dinner that day. She also got herself a few essentials that she had forgotten to shop for the previous day when she had dropped off to campus. She took her time and looked around the store trying to rack her brain for the things she lacked. Satisfied that she had gotten anything she got herself a bottle of soda before paying and heading to the house. She took her time humming while she went around the main house to her servants quarter through a small corridor. She felt as though her stay would be so fun in the area. She found herself humming to the tune that her anonymous neighbor had played the previous night. She hummed as she unlocked the door to her small apartment. She took the time to unpack and store away her belongings before she decided to wash her utensils and house to make sure everything was clean for when she decided to make dinner. She sang out carelessly as she washed her dished in the little sink that was right outside her house not even caring if anyone was hearing her.
It was a little to five o'clock when she finished washing and organizing her tiny apartment. She prepared herself a salad but did not want to eat until it was six in the evening. She took her soda and walked out sitting right next to the stone wall that separated the two houses from each other. Somehow she hoped that he or she would feel touched and play again but there was nothing but some weird channel that whoever was there was watching. Giving up on hearing the soft music for the day shed took her earphones and put some music on before she let herself drown in it even trying to sing it out. She did not have the best voice in the world but when she sang she felt as though she belonged, hence she took the time to do that everyday. She continued singing the fight song by Rachel P. She played and sang the song on repeat as though it was the anthem she needed in order for her semester to be successful. She needed even the most little vote of confidence she could get.
Her alarm interrupted her concert as she got reminded it was dinner time. She walked to her house and served her salad into a bowl before she sat at her small table and ate. She had plugged the music out and was instead watching a movie on her laptop this time. She realized that she had been obsessed with entertainment so much so that since she had left school hours ago she had done nothing constructive. She however disregarded the thought and continued eating her meal still watching her movie. She justified that somehow within the semester she would be too busy to even spare time for such activities. She did her dishes before she sat at her study table and decided to look through her course content and do her research so that she could have enough time to cover it all. She did not have any friends and therefore she did not have anyone to hang out with. With soft music playing in the room she studied her notes and did research on her laptop before something happened. There was a soft cry from a keyboard playing Rachel P's fight song, the one she had been singing earlier.
She found herself humming to the song as the player played it over and over again as though appeasing her. She let herself hang around the music and before she realized it, she was rocking to the song with all her energies, continually declaring the lyrics loudly. She caught herself when she heard a knock on her door and realized how loud she had been when she opened it to reveal her furious land lady who was huffing and puffing warning her on being too loud during the night carefully implying that she had children. Peris had chuckled nervously as she set her eyes on the floor before apologizing. She could hear the music on the other side get lower as the lecture continued. Being the cry baby she was, she felt the tears threatening to fall from her eyes and she knew that she was going to cry if the woman did not stop. She was lucky when the woman walked away. She shut her door in pure embarrassment feeling bad about the fact that she had been aught on the wrong side of the globe again. She felt as though things couldn't get any worse but then a loud cry came from a nearby keyboard causing her to smile. Whoever it was, was revenging for her and that was the best thing anyone had ever done for her.
