Chapter 7 6

Chapter 6

Connor walked into Coleen's office without knocking. He would have knocked, but the message he came bearing needs to be relayed with urgency.

"When did you lose your manner?" Coleen's bitter voice washed over him as he spoke.

"I am so sorry Alpha, but I could not waste more time waiting at the door for you to ask me to come in," he blurted.

Coleen regarded him for some seconds.

"What is it?" He asked, his time flaccid.

"Alpha Roland just called, and he needs our help," Connor muttered.

The room went silent for some time, so much that it made Connor worried.

"What if he refused to help? What if he acts as if my message does not bother him?"

"What did he say?" Coleen asked, cutting off Connor's train of thought.

"Their pack was just attacked by rogues. He needs our help in fighting them off," Connor said.

Another pause.

Connor was about to apologise for bothering him with such news when Coleen speaks.

"What do you think?" He asked in a monotone.

"Pardon?" Connor was confused.

"What do you think we should do?" He asked.

"With your permission, Alpha," he said as he bowed his head lower. "I think we should help them; we won't want one of our allies to hate us."

Coleen seems to think for some minutes, his eyes creased as he frowns.

"Prepare the car and some warriors," he finally said.

"Yes Alpha," Connor bowed.

He finally let his smile grow wide as he turns away from Coleen. He still could not believe Coleen had agreed to leave the pack.

Coleen frowned heavily. His wolf had refused to come out since yesterday, but as soon as Connor mentioned the Silver Moon pack.

His wolf had tried to claw out to the surface.

"Is there something there he needs to see?" He thought.

He didn't know what it was, but his wolf wanted to go, even though he was against the idea.

He wanted to know what it was about the silver moon pack that arouse his desire so much.

The door to his office barge open and Jenna walked in carefully. She stopped in front of Coleen's desk.

"I heard a disturbing rumour which I need to make sure it is true or not," she said, going straight to the point.

Coleen stayed silent; he watches his sister as she leaned closer to him.

"Is it true that you will visit the Silver moon pack?" She inquired.

Rather than give her a straight answer, Coleen stared at her with a grim look before asking.

"Who told you?" He continued to look at her.

"It doesn't matter. What matters is that you are going there," Jenna grinned.

Coleen stood up briskly, he moved away from his desk and proceeded to the door.

"Leaving for training?" Jenna asked.

He said nothing, but just continue to walk out of the office.

Jenna sighed sadly, even though she was a little happy.

"Moon goddess," she whispered.

"I know he is not worth it, but can you help him meet his mate soon? He will lose his sense if he does not have anyone by his side," she whispered, looking up at the ceiling.

She sighed again and walked out of his office.

"How did it go?" Her mother suddenly appeared beside her, just as she came out.

"It seems Connor is telling the truth. He will go to the Silver moon pack," Jenna mumbled.

"Then why are you still sad?" Amanda asked, her brows furrowed.

"I feel like we would lose him if nothing is being done soon," she mumbled.

"I know, but there is nothing we can do," Amanda said. "He lived this kind of life. All we can do is pray that the moon goddess intercedes quickly.

"I hope so too," Jenna mumbled, her head tilting down.

********************

Coleen got to the field where his men were training so hard.

It was one thing he enjoyed doing. He couldn't go a day without letting his wolf go wild.

The men stopped training when they noticed his presence. They made way as he walked to the middle of the field.

He finally stopped and turned around to stare at each one of them. The grim, bitter expression on his face never seems to fade away.

"Get into your position," he commanded.

And just like that, everyone scurried around until they were standing in a pair of two

"I do not have to tell you what to do," he barked at them.

The men turn to one another and they fought each other with their best abilities.

No one would want to get into Coleen's black book, so they tried their best to get their opponent back to touch down.

Within a few minutes, the men were sweating heavily. None of them will to give in to their opponent, so there was no winner between them.

Coleen smiled as he watches his men attacking each other and also made sure their opponent does not beat them.

He had trained them well, and he was proud of them.

His pack was the strongest of all packs because of his defence system, something he wasn't ready to let go.

"Alpha," someone called behind him.

He turned around to see his assistant head maid bowing behind him.

"What is it, Jasmine?" he called, letting her know he was listening.

"Your mother calls for you," she blurted.

If there was someone Coleen respected, it was his mother. Even though he was indifferent to her, he still listens to her and obey her.

"Lead the way," he said.

Jasmine turns around and leads the way. She stopped when she got to a beautiful garden.

Coleen proceeded into the garden, ignoring Jasmine, who stood by one side with her head bowed.

"Mother," he called once he got in.

She turns around on the swing she was seated and stretch her hand to him.

He took it and kiss the back of her palm.

"You called for me," he said.

"I heard you will go to the Silver moon pack soon," she stated as a matter of fact

"Yes," he replied coldly.

"I wish you will find your mate there," she whispered.

"Mother," he warned, his tone turning cold instantly.

"I asked Jenna to pick out your suit," she said, quickly changing the topic.

Jenna walked into the garden that minute.

"Good thing you are here," Jenna said. "I have a hard time picking out your suit, so I have the maids pick out several ones."

Coleen glared at her; he knew where she was heading immediately.

"I need you to come with me to test it out until I see which one fits you," she cooed.

"I will not be a partaker in such childish thing," his voice was stern.

"I am not asking for your permission Cole, you are coming with me whether you like it. You do not have a choice," she stated as a matter of fact.

Coleen growled lowly and Jenna smiled victoriously.

"I will expect you in the next five minutes."

She walked out of the garden immediately.

"I guess I will have to go if I do not want trouble and curse flying around the house for weeks." He said, turning to his mother.

"Sure, do that if you don't want Jenna to storm back here soon," Amanda said with a smile.

He stood up from his seat, took his mother's hand and kisses her knuckles.

"I hope one day I will get to see you smile again," Amanda whispered.

Coleen ignored her even though he heard and walked out of the garden.
