Avery waited until he was a few distances from her before vanishing, making the wolf land with a thud.
She reappears again and grabs the wolf from the back. She found the centre of his heart and placed her palm over it.
The wolf went limp after she whispered some inaudible words.
As she dropped the dead wolf on the ground, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Just then, three wolves emerge from the forest. She was about to get into a defence stance but her eyes soften immediately she recognized them.
Sophie shifted back, not minding her nakedness as she ran to where Avery was.
"Are you okay?" Sophie asked, her eyes crinkled.
"I think so," she muttered.
Almost immediately, she felt hot liquid running down her arm. She twisted around to see a large gash on her shoulder blade.
"Your arm," Sophie gasp.
Avery opened her mouth to speak, but she fell unconscious instead.

Connor knocked on the door of Coleen's office. He waited for a few minutes before he heard his gruff voice calling him to come in.
"Alpha," he bowed.
"Is there something wrong?" Coleen asked.
"You haven't told me what I am to do with the rogues that were caught this morning," Connor said, his eyes not leaving the ground for once.
Coleen drops his pen and closed his eyes for a minute.
"Take me to them," he finally said once he opened his eyes.
"Alpha?" Connor asked, his eyes widened.
Coleen had never gone down to the dungeon to see a prisoner before except...
He looked up to see Coleen staring at him.
"Yes alpha," Connor bowed.
He straightens from his position and moves to the door.
Coleen stood up from his seat, he folds his hand behind his back, and walked out of the office.
They walk to the dungeon in silence, each one of them keeping to their thought. It took a while before Coleen decide to break the silence.
"How many are they?" he asked, his voice cold like ice.
"Ten Alpha, five adults, and five young rogues," Connor replied.
"Have you prepared the room?" He asked and Connor nodded negatively.
He quickly minds link the guards on duty, asking them to prepare the room as soon as possible.
They got to the dungeon and he turn right while Conner turned left with some guard behind him.
Coleen entered the room he had prepared and there on the table lies many torturing devices.
Coleen picked the one that look like a chain. He turned it on and tried touching the tip, only to withdraw his hand because of the jolt of electric that course through his finger.
He sighed in satisfaction, knowing it was still intact and ready to be used anytime. The door creak open as they pushed the prisoners in.
After securely tying them to the pole, Connor and the other stepped back a little, Coleen picked up the electric chains and clasps it around the men's neck before moving back a few steps. Their screams filled the entire room when he turned it all on.
He let them scream their lungs out for about twenty minutes before switching it off. He took a chair and dragged it forward, then sat on it.
"Who sent you here?" he asked.
"No one, Sir," one female respond since the men were too weak to speak.
"Liar," he growled, turning on the chains again.
The female wolves whimper as soon as the male screams filled the room again.
"Please Alpha, no one sent us. We were just passing by and did not know we had crossed your boundary until it was too late. Please believe me," a blond female pleaded.
"And I am supposed to believe that?" he scoffed.
"It is the truth, sir," the one with the red hair said.
"So why were you found sneaking around, trying to cover your track?" Coleen chipped in.
"We were hoping we could go unnoticed, since we have heard rumours of how you let no wolf go unpunished," the third one replied.
"Are you taking turns to answer my question?" He growled menacingly.
They kept quiet and said nothing.
"Conner," he called.
"Yes Alpha," Conner answered.
"Continue torturing them until they confess why they are here," he said and Conner nod in response before moving forward and grabbing what looks like a whip, but it actually was a shocker.
"Connor," Coleen called.
"Yes Alpha," he answered.
"Kill them afterward," he said.
He walked out of the torture room with his hand folded behind him.
Coleen stepped out and almost crush his sister's minor form. She was standing just outside the prison.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"I could ask you the same thing," she retorted.
He walks past her while she stomps after him and he could hear her calling him to stop, but he blocked out her voice.
He was about to reach for the door to his bedroom when he felt someone tug on his arm.
He turned to face his sister, who was glaring murderously at him. If looks could kill, he would be six feet under, but he was glad it was the other way round.
"What?" he asked silently.
"Are there any female wolf down there?" She asked.
If it was possible, her glare on him intensified.
Coleen remained silent. He walked into his room, ignoring her once again.
"Answer me, Coleen," Jenna snapped.
Coleen growled at her, but she refuses to back down. She stared at him head on.
"What if there are?" He asked, a streak of red flash through his eyes.
Coleen knew what she was about to say, so he folds his hands on his chest getting ready for her long lecture.
He waited to hear her preach about how it was a crime to kill or torture she- wolves, but he was not preparing for the next word that came out of her mouth.
"Do you even have a heart? How can you think of torturing a female wolf when you have one for a sister?" She spat.
"They are trespasser Jenna, and you already know the rules," he snapped. "No trespasser go scot-free."
"Isn't that too harsh? They did not choose to be a rogue from birth. They were born that way," she said. "How would you feel if you were in their shoe?"
"They already know how things would end for them once they step on my pack land," Coleen snapped.
"But still..."
"That is enough. If you have nothing better to say, then I suggest you leave before I lose my temper," he growled at her.
"You think you are nothing like him," Jenna hissed. "You are everything like him, in fact you are much worse than...."
He pinned her to the wall before she could finish the sentence. She looked up to find Coleen looking down at her with golden orbs.
"What the f*ck have I done?" She thought.
