Chapter 5 Don't Want To Stay

An unhappy expression painted Jayda's face as she stared at Keith.

"I will tell Mama everything. After all, she's your female, correct? Why are you saying that she's a liar?"

"She is not my female,"

Keith replied in a definite tone while shaking his head.

All he wanted was for this woman to stay away from his tribe.

"Your scent is all over her body. How can she not be yours?" Suddenly, there was a hint of anger in Jayda's eyes. "Or are you copying the Ikers in regards to having many females?"

"What are you saying? It's not like that." There was an anxious look on Keith's face. Then, he blushed and explained, "She's not my female anyway."

It seemed that he left his scent on the female because he found her and carried her back.

Nonetheless, he only left a light smell.

After all, they had never done anything sexual in nature. However, he was having difficulties in explaining the truth.

"I never thought that you are a cruel person, Keith. You refused to give her food, and now you even try to abandon her?"

Jayden pouted her lips and glared daggers at Keith. "I'll report you to Mama. If she learns about this, she will definitely reprimand you."

Then, she grabbed Kira's hand and headed towards the cave.

Meanwhile, Kira glanced at Keith before following Jayda.

"Keith, what's going on?"

With confused eyes, Theo looked at him and raised an eyebrow.

However, Keith had no way of explaining the situation.

After all, he couldn't tell them about his dream.

None of them would believe what he would say.

Earlier, he thought that everything would get back to normal once he got rid of the woman.

Unfortunately, he never expected to cross paths again with her.

Frustrated, Keith scratched his head and also went into the cave.

When Kira entered the cave, she was in awe of how big the place was.

Several shining rocks decorated the walls.

They piled up and illuminated the cave.

It seemed that it was more spacious compared to Keith's cave.

The ancient jungle was home to dangerous creatures and deadly climates. The cave was enough to give them some sort of safety.

As Keith stepped inside, he heard Kasha's voice.

"Eat slowly, sweetie. You're not going to run out of food. There's no need to rush."

It seemed that Kira was starving. All she had in mind at that moment was to eat.

Jayden stood beside Kira and said in the latter's defense, "Mama, Keith is too bad. He wants to have multiple females!"

Keith approached them and stared at Kira, who was eating an apple. "How did you manage to gain my sister's trust so easily?"

At that moment, Keith regretted his actions.

If he knew that this would happen, he wouldn't have taken care of Kira back then. It seemed better if he had left her in the jungle with the wild beasts.

When she heard what he said, Kari glared at him with sharp eyes.

"Keith, why are you treating her like that? Haven't I taught you to be gentle towards a female?"

"Mama, I was just-"

Keith suddenly stopped talking as he didn't know how to explain what happened.

On the other hand, Kira ate the apple that Jayda gave her. It was very sweet.

She felt much better after she had her fill with apples.

When she heard the conversation, Kira realized that they were in a maternal society. It seemed that females were more influential than the males here.

Females stayed at home and were responsible for breeding. Meanwhile, males had to go outside to hunt for food.

After wiping her mouth, Kira bowed at Kasha and thanked her.

A gentle smile flashed across Kasha's lips as she looked at Kira. "Don't be scared, my dear. Keith isn't a bad person. You can tell me if he did anything bad to you. I'll make sure to punish him."

Then, Kasha dotingly patted Kira's hand.

At that moment, Keith was afraid the Kira might tell something bad about him. However, she remained quiet and smiled at Kasha.

It was a smile that Keith had never seen before.

"I don't think K can speak, Mama."

When Jayda said this, Keith immediately grew confused.

It was true that Kira hadn't said anything since they met.

However, he vaguely remembered that she could talk.

"I think she's lying-" he blurted out.

However, Kasha suddenly glared at him before he could finish what he was saying.

When she heard this, Kira felt offended. As such, Kasha pitied her even more.

Soon enough, Kasha told Keith to take Kira back to his cave.

When they arrived at his shelter, Kira kept her distance from Keith.

She was still carrying the fruit that Kasha gave her.

She grew curious as to where they gathered the fruits.

Meanwhile, Keith had been staring at her ever since they came back to the cave.

It terrified her that she embraced herself in fear.

She had no idea what to do if Keith asked her again to have a baby together.

Moreover, she couldn't understand why he was suddenly mean to her.

His fickle-mindedness baffled her.

"Why aren't you saying anything?"

He asked in a low voice.

During the sunset, the last rays of sunlight shone over the cave. Several shining rocks glowed brightly.

Kira stared at Keith as she simmered in her thoughts.

"My mother and Jayda are good and kind."

His heart skipped a beat when Keith saw Kira stare at him. In a lower voice, he continued, "Please don't lie to them. We are the only ones here. Stop acting innocent."

Immediately, Kira felt offended by his remark. With a sharp glare, she stood up and began to gesture frantically.

Since she couldn't talk, how could she manage to fool his mother and sister? The man in front of her must think that she was merely faking to be mute.

'I may be wrong pushing you away. But that was only because I was scared. Why are you still holding a grudge against me?

You have some serious issues, '

Kira furiously gestured. After she finished, she felt exhausted but still angry.

It seemed that being in a strange place made her extra anxious.

Soon enough, her eyes reddened.

When he noticed it, Keith began to panic.

The female in front of him was acting differently compared to what he remembered.

Unfortunately, he learned a lesson in a brutal manner. Although he was willing to believe her now, the circumstances seemed strange.

"Keith! What are you doing?"

Kasha had followed them back and been outside his cave all this time. When she saw the altercation between the two, she stepped inside and stared at Keith with disappointed eyes.

"Has she ever spoke in front of you? You better stop saying she's a liar,"

Kasha scolded him in an angry tone.

"Mama, it's not like that. I'm not..."

However, Keith couldn't find the words to defend himself.

"My dear, I know that Keith has offended you. If you want, you can stay with me for a few days,"

Kasha offered as she caressed Kira's face.

When she heard this, Kira nodded with excitement.

Noticing that Kasha was leaving with Kira, Keith stopped them before they could exit the cave.

"Stop. Don't take her with you."

He seemed worried that Kira might do something to his mother.

Since Kira was to stay with them for now, he had to watch her all the time. It was his responsibility to never let her hurt his people. He would immediately notify everyone if she did anything suspicious.

"Why can't I? Should I leave her here so you can bully her?" Kasha asked with an angry expression.

Speechless, Keith stared at Kira as his face became red.

Kasha misunderstood his gesture. She assumed he actually wanted K to stay because he had feelings for this female.

Soon enough, Kasha decided that it was better to separate the two young ones. Kira would have a cave for herself not far away from Keith's.

The poor girl was mute. She was weak and needed protection. Additionally, Keith's scent mark was all over her body. As such, even if K left, she had nowhere to go, for no other male would accept a marked female.

Kasha hoped that K and Keith could live together in harmony.

After all, she understood her son very well. Keith wouldn't have put his scent mark on K if he had no feelings for her.

Nonetheless, it was better if the two youngsters could develop a relationship first.

Meanwhile, Kira seemed satisfied with the arrangement.

Since danger was everywhere in this place, she needed to have a place to stay. It was enough that she and Keith didn't have to share the same cave.

She would need some time to gather everything she needed. After that, she could live by herself. She hoped to live in a place near the sea.

She truly enjoyed living on the shore.

As such, she wasn't planning on staying here for too long.

Since K had no objections, Kasha stretched her arms and patted Keith, who was still standing and speechless.

"Tidy up that cave. When you're done, take her there."
